B-airs and D-airs I think.

And once in a while, footstools and springs.

a good Luigi usually uses side-B for horizontal, tornado to get up vertically, and up-B as a last resort. If they use tornado, they're usually below the stage, so you can go for the 'Pit' effect and gimp them if you hit them after/during tornado, since only the first tornado has vertical powers.

By this, he means his most fun, hardest, and easiest matchups as Lucas.

I'm enraged at how many people say Ike is an easy fight! ...Although, I find it all too funny how Ike is hit of of his Aether with Sonic's spring offstage.

I'm still adamant it's Sonic's advantage, even though it's been refuted a few times.
i.e. I've just been told to STFU cos I'm a Sonic main.

It's probably, behind Ganon, Sonic's clearest advantage.

Iono. Ganon might be more neutral, with higher-skilled players.

I've played Zeonstar. Thunderstorming forces you to take your time and pick your moments to attack. Wait too long to try and avoid dair spam, and you get Flame Choked. If the matchup is indeed in Sonic's favor, it's somewhere in between 55:45 or 60:40. Not too bad.

Easiest:
1) Ike: OH...MY...LORD this is nuts. Sonic just dashes through almost everything Ike has. Ikes only real chance against a decent Sonic player is for Sonic to run into his smashes. And did somebody say, gimptacular?

2) Bowser: No projectile + one of the slowest characters + fastest character in history done right = almost too easy win.

3) Captain Falcon: Unless its Ally (or Mango), no Falcon can possibly match a good Sonic player. The Falcon Punch is cool, but the Spin Dash is that much cooler because it almost always seems to cancel his best moves out. Easy to gimp, no matter whose playing him.

4) Yoshi: Gimptasticular Madness...

Hardest:

1) Wolf: Best of the Star Fox characters with some really deadly combos from what I face.

2) Olimar: SOOO hard to hit!!! But his bad recovery kinda evens this one out.

3) Zelda: Don't mess with her Up Smash and Side B.

4) King Dedede: The most underestimated character in SSBB will crush you if your not ready for a seriously killer air game, spades of power and Kirby-rivaling recovery.

5) Online Wi-fi lag. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. When it happens, and you play as Sonic, you may be in for a WORLD of hurt...

Funnest:

1) Sonic: Its awesome trying to outmaneuver an opponent who can use all your tricks at the same time...

2) Meta Knight: Because its one of the most challenging.

This one, Nape, I'll say beforehand is based mostly on my experience with one good ass Ganon, but aggro Sonic ends up running into dair spam. It also gets you Ledehop Dair/Uair/Fair'd when you try and stage spike him. I prefer passive aggressive for this one.

edit:
@ Sagen
Bowser's Fire Breath is a projectile. Captain Falcon can just shield Spin Dashes and uair you all day. Not to say he completely crushes Sonic, but that's one of his main options against you. Same for Bowser.

Yes, that one was the one I had in mind.

The problem with most Ganonplayers is that they leave themselves open faaar too much. Way too much attacking, and that leaves you with more opportunities to attack. Except for their SH D-airs. I did find, however, that running in and doing F-air just after he uses D-air (BEFORE he lands) is somewhat effective for Oldmanondorfs who try to scare you with their manhumps.

In April, I played against Flying Dutchman of the Ganon boards, and made him change his mind about the Sonic matchup (which was originally thought to be in Ganon's favor), but in hindsight, I took advantage of his laggy/wasted attacks, and there were many of them. I had also recently become a Sonic main FROM Ganondorf, so I knew his moves/move tendencies alot better than he would have known mine.

ZeonStar wastes alot less attacks, and on top of that, has excellent followups.

If played well, just like Ike, you'll have a bit of a harder time finding openings to punish.

Yes I bet I do underestimate Ike, only because I don't loose to him much. Captain Falcon can be a challenge if played right. But I don't see much for Bowser! And I do like him.

PSHHHH

I 2-stocked DNES and I literally could hold A and either clang cancel or defeat his attacks, or bait him into something stupid.

No lie.

Sage of Smash:
Ike/Bowser/Ganondorf are hard to find because ALOT of them use their slow attacks tooo much.

True, but the same can be said for any matchup. The better the Sonic plays, the more openings can be made and be taken advantage of.

I did get my butt kicked against one Ganon, but his skill level was simply superior than mine, and I didn't know the matchup well enough. In the final rounds of the friendlies we played I was beating him consistently, so IDK.

My easiest matchup was with Sonic I have alot of experience fighting against my main by the way the cpu level was 9.

My hardest matchup was with King Dedede because of his style his like a kirby but with extreme strength some say he is the most powerful character in the game.

My funniest matchup was with King Dedede because when you send him flying it 's very funny when he hits the screen and when he dies he has a funny cry.

so i herd Ganon was only like 55:45.
That's technically neutral.

Sonic's got to have some advantageous match-ups...
Right? ;_;

Apart from the fact most match-ups are 20:80 against or worse if you don't use steak as your tag.

I can only imagine how your other 122 posts look like.
Oh, I've already seen a lot of them. You obviously never took anyone's advice to "LURK MORE."

Anyway for some reason I really like to fight Fox and Marth. Those seem to be the most entertaining for me.
Easiest? Well Sonic doesn't have no advantages against nobodies so ever matchup is hard.
(CF and Bowser are too easy)
Hard...I'd have to say Wario, D3, Olimar, and Pika. Bite, Inhale, Pikminz, and electricity kill a lot of approaches.

55:45 against ganon? I would beg to differ. 60:40 at worst and most likely.

Very interesting seeing everyones opinions. There seems to be no general consensus on most difficult matches.

Hmm...maybe because we all have different playstyles so different characters pose more of a threat to different styles.

LOL

actually, on AiB, we're trying to keep a tally of Falcon (Ally) vs Sonic (the various Sonic mains that play there) wins.

So far it's 2-0 (matches, not rounds) - between two different Sonic mains and Ally.

I lost embarassingly last time (3-1, best out of 5) I played, during the Summer. But I haven't faced Ally's Falcon in the Fall yet. I'll probably lose again, but hopefully, it won't be due to suicides this time XD

Part of it is exposure. If you fight bad Metaknights, you might think than an up-tilted F-smash can hit him out of Glide Attack, for example.

I made one of my brawl taunts "I'm too cheap!=D" from the Brawl Taunts video making fun of Sonic saying "You're too slow!", and I said it over and over again in the first match I played with it. It was really funny at the time.

Yeah, like how to DI out of Wario's chaingrab.

but then, I realized, I wasn't so annoyed by Wario's chaingrab as I was by Peach's.

But I already used my "hi guys, I'm a Peach main" card. See here:
Peach Chatroom and General Discussion and read the next 5 posts. And click the links I post.

So, which way do you DI to get away from those chaingrabs? I want to avoid having to spring out of them as much as possible.

I think up to a certain % with bad DI, which apparently I have because I keep getting regrabbed, it can also set up for a U-tilt and possibly U-smash.

Hm...maybe just simply try to DI away from them, kinda like the way you can escape from a jab lock more quickly.
