I really loved Pan's Labyrinth. I also really enjoyed Donnie Darko though I cannot forgive them for making a sequel even if it does end up being good.

What's so good about Donnie Darko? Seriously, I must of missed something in that film.
It's amazing, Haha. But seriously, I hear that a lot. It's a love-hate thing. Did you see the director's cut? Imo its infinitely better than the original

First place is tie between Fight Club and Princess Mononoke, then it's a menagerie of Pixar and Studio Ghibli films intermixed with indie movies for the rest of the top ten.

Anyone else like Edward Scissorhands? I also liked Sweeney Todd. Both great movies. Edward Scissorhands is my favorite movie second to none except possibly spiderman. I thought that was spectacular and changed the way superhero movies were made.

I hate the original poster for liking the new Pink Panther movie and hope that it's only because he never saw the older ones, and I hate everyone else for not once mentioning The Departed.

The Departed.

There, I said it. It's awesome.

Also, The Mist was good. That I can agree with.

It was ok, but that film basically screams:

BECOME A CHRISTIAN, NOW!!!
I really don't see how you could arrive at such a conclusion considering they villanize the religious fanatics throughout the movie.

Who end up surviving, whilst everyone who disagrees with them ends up dying horrible deaths.
You don't know if they survived or not. Creatures could have broken through the windows and eaten them all. And even if they did survive, that's still completely irrelevant since their survival would be attributed to mere coincidence and not their religious beliefs. I can't see how a movie could have a pro-religious agenda when the last thing the religous characters do is try to sacrifice a kid.

And everything that the crazy lady said ended up coming true. "They'll come tonight, one of us will die" etc. Only a few people opposed her, and they got killed by monsters a few seconds later.

Teaching us all a valuable lesson.

That wasn't meant to show her as being right, she was just right by coincidence and that was just used as a plot device to get more people working against the protagonist. If anything it's anti religion because of how it sets an example for the way people are so eager to grab at answers to solve their problems in a time of desperation inspite of the absurdity of the solution, which is what leads to them wanting to sacrifice the kid. And besides, if there really was a pro religion agenda in The Mist, then why would they portray the religious leader and her followers in such a violent and hateful manner?

EDIT: Also, thanks for somebody FINALLY mentioning No Country for Old Men.
