Added Mr. Pickle's videos (color is currently Dark Green), one of Oracle's videos from last weekend's tournament, and changed my color to Purple, because it's easier on the eyes than Indigo. Also, I made the character faces more uniform, and Doubles has been confined to its own section below Singles.

Copied off my post in Smashmods, Reflex you probably already seen these.

I believe some of my videos are being edited. I don't think you want to watch a 3 hour long recording. I do play a lot of Wario as well as a few other characters.

But if you don't mind watching the recording before it is edited then it is on

Good Wario matches are at

Alpha Dash (Wario) vs Professor Pro (Snake) 22:41-26:27 (there are matches before that where I got destroyed)
Alpha Dash (Wario) vs Jolteon (Ike) 27:09-34:21
Alpha Dash (Wario) vs Professor Pro (Snake) 1:40:46-1:48:07
Alpha Dash (Wario) vs Jolteon (Ike) 1:48:50-1:55:40

Hey, so, I love Wario. Like, he's a brilliant character and all, but I just love being a major troll with him and just having as much fun as possible. That said, I played him in sort of a 'cameo' role during my last tournement, when in Grand Finals I saw Set 1 more as a "free set to do whatever" than a set where I attempted to win it all(a massive mistake, sure, but it's whatever now).

So here's some of my janky Wario who likes to spam Side-B.

You could stand to work some more Jab into your game. Jab1>Jab2 leads beautifully into dtilt>nair, or straight into nair. I think even just Jab1 can set up into other stuff.

You use a lot of dthrow. It's not exactly wario's best throw, but it can set up kills with sideb if they miss the tech, or choose the wrong option. Uncharged fthrow sets up some pretty sweet stuff, and bthrow is pretty much the most amazing thing ever for putting people offstage.

I was more or less "discovering" the use of Dthrow at the time of that match, noticing it did the most damage of Wario's throws. Usually I stick to Bthrow.

Really, I've been reading how sexy Jab1 is, and I guess the reason it's so off to me is because of how long it takes to string Jab1 > Jab2, as I'm still thinking Brawl mechanics half the time. Still, I hear the frames for it coming out is kind of amazing? I don't know, it seems slow to me, but I haven't played since the tournement. I'll look into it some more.

I think Wario dittos are the best mirror matches ever. That first stock was fantastic.

So yeah I played my boi wario for the first time in tournament. It was, "Above the Influence", which was in Alabama last weekend, and I got 4th, which was pretty decent. I made quite a few mistakes in my game play, but overall I'm satisfied on my performance, plus it was a bunch of fun lol. That being said, here are the vids.

Watched the Bowser match:

Whenever you get him on a platform you would approach his shield with aerials, just bite him. Perhaps go with more dairs on his recovery.

6:15:20 is the Wario match. It's also the first one so that makes it easy.

I'm not gonna lie, I sandbagged hard, but this is a good showing of my auto-pilot Wario. You'll see things like fishing for that DSmash spike that never work. It's just the first game I run Wario, and I think it might be the only time I end up using Wario in tournament and on stream.

DO NOT sit in shield unless you have no other options available to you. You're almost always better off jumping and/or sticking out hitbox. Rising F-Air/N-Air is really good for stuffing approaches, and you can always retreat if you don't like where things are going. Wario can't deal with shield pressure well, and one of the biggest advantages he has as a character is great aerial mobility. You should never be standing still; dashdance, do aerial pokes, ANYTHING but standing still. That makes you predictable, which makes Wario much worse than he can be.

Don't approach with Forward-B unless it's clearly for misdirection; it can be seen from a mile away and punished easily. Use your good pokes, like D-Tilt, F-Air, and Jab, in order to get people to fight. If you don't want to approach, actively camp for Down-B charge, but you absolutely should not be predictable.

So I got to play that awesome dude metroid at SMYM14, there were just friendlies but they're still awesome.

I was really surprised with his charizard, its so good. He has a completely different style that screams in your face, as opposed to yoshiiscool, which is way more defensive with more usage of nair. The matchup experience helped me a little, but not as much as I thought it would lol.

I also fought his Ike, which was a complete monster as well. Unfortunately I don't think some of our crazier matches got recorded, which sucks cause that crazy side b chain grab stuff blew my mind lol.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94c-ZqHNKHM

Overall I did pretty good I think, but I still need improving. I still have a habit of just attacking people's shields when they're above me, instead of biting like ace suggested. I need to get better at farts, I get excited too easy and do a panic fart if my plan gets messed up, and my DI needs a lot of work...those are the things I noticed about myself ha ha, so if you want to add something, I'll be willing to listen.

Pickle I watched some of your games and from the games I watched I liked how you were trying to use DACUS. It seemed like a surprise to metroid a few times.

Pickle you were pretty good man, don't sell yourself short. Wish we got some more matches and I got to go ZSS against you more. :p
Thanks man, and yeah its a shame that we didn't get more games, but the games you played ZSS, you totally blew my mind...like I had no idea that ZSS could be that scary lol. We'll definitely play a bunch next time you guys have a tourney, which hopefully will be soon!

Translucent - Thank you, I've been working on my DACUS timing because I noticed at the last tournament I went to, I messed up the input a lot. Sometimes I use it when I really shouldn't, but its just such a fun move, lol big head is just so awesome. And metroid was surprised by a lot of wario stuff, like for instance he never saw wario's creeper walk before....we all had a good laugh out of that .

I'd like to point out that you would have succeeded a lot more dacus-es if you did not charge them. You get less distance, but having the hitbox out sooner and moving is preferable. I also notice that you instinctively fade away fair, even mid combo. Fade away when poking, but don't after a bite. You should be able to profitably trade off of charizard's recovery with dair and late nairs. Nair when you have room for error, and dair when he only has up-b left for recovery.

Your combos are fantastic, converting extremely well off of dairs and throws. I have more to learn from you :)

Thank you very much! I appreciate the critique, and I'm really glad that you're learning stuff from me duder! I usually have hard time committing to dair since its such a risky off stage move, but I'll practice with it and get a little more comfortable with it, along with the other things you suggested.

My Wario matches from my tourney last Saturday:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=E-eZKv7SaQo vs Faab's Squirtle, first two matches.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Ufl0wCoN2mc Wario dittos vs Ryuker. I have no idea why he wanted to Wario ditto he had to know it wouldn't end well..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=navMDnl0w_0 first match vs Avalancer's Ivy. Help, I got absolutely destroyed! Beat him with Bowser in losers though.

Yeah that ivy match was rough, but if it makes you feel any better, same thing happened to me when I played reflex's ivy, lol almost got 4 stocked first match. Maybe you shouldn't have fished for the edge guard as hard, and instead focus on killing her out right? Also I hear ccing is really good against her, but I really don't know how to apply it lol.

In the squirtle matches, you played really solid. The only advice I could give you is instead of doing an aerial, maybe mix up some of your approaches with a fast fall bite....Anyway good job man, very solid play.

Lol I haven't even watched the wario ditto, I assume its made of silliness and destruction in your favor.

Thanks man, aside from the horrible DI on dthrows I'm pretty happy about the Squirtle matches.

The Wario dittos were actually kinda close, I just don't remember ever losing one to Ryuker.

I've heard the same about cc vs Ivy but honestly I had trouble abusing it even with Bowser. Nair can't really be cc'd, fair was seldomly used while I was on the ground, bair has absurd range and pushes you away (maybe dsmash works though). In retrospect I should have aerialed through the leafs I guess (clanking them with ground moves didn't work out at all in the second Zard match). And I was pushing for edgegaurds so hard because on-stage I was getting destroyed lol.

Forget to list one match in GF where I used Wario vs Fays's Falco:

Yo guys, a friend of mine named Dr. Yogi is trying to use Wario as a secondary. Here are some recent matches of him.

If you have the time, can anyone critique these videos for him? I can't really offer him advice since I don't use Wario that much.
Help is really appreciated!

I can't give a full critique right now as I haven't slept in almost 2 days, lol I know I'm passing out right after this message, but initially, I was kinda impressed. Aside from some mistakes here and there, I thought he played pretty well. I'll try to have a full critique some time tomorrow when I'm not exhausted lol.

Ok sorry it took so long but I had some stuff happen in my life I needed to take care of. Anyway from what I've seen of Dr.Yogi, he is pretty decent, good strings, knows some good edge guards, and has some good mix ups. A couple things I have noticed though is he has a bad habit of just throwing out random fsmashes, I don't know if thats due to technical error or what, but its not good lol, fsmash is decent but it isn't something you should be tossing around. Another thing I noticed is that he really needs to know when and where to use fart. One instance that comes to mind is the first falco video, around 2:50 he up throws the falco onto the platform and proceeds to try to fart on him, but because its fully charged, the move came out on frame 9, and it allowed the getup attack to connect, which cost wario a fart. There are a couple other instances of failed farts, but they all attribute to the same thing, general lack of knowledge of the move, which isn't bad he just needs to understand the move a little better. In general, I believe he needs to try to incorporate bite more often, due to it being such a good move. I like his use of up tilt, I still have no idea how to apply it, so good job with that. Overall I think he'll be a strong player once he gets some more experience, and more practice. Hopefully he can make some use out of something in this post lol, and I'll be keeping an eye on him as the meta develops.

@Juushichi - Wow who is this carls guy, I've never heard of him. I really like his style, and I don't think he even missed one dair fart taunt, lol too good. You have a really good g&w btw, I think its the first time I've ever seen you play. Though one thing I would suggest is maybe more bacon, maybe that would've helped you put more pressure on the wario. Though you probably know more about the character than me, so forgive me if this suggestion doesn't help.
