Just gotta explain the ending, when I win and storm off it's to tell ally to eat it for saying I'm free and had no chance beating cura.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWjrKQNPLmU&p=B0973135B370DAB8

I played this olimar once again and he just keeps getting better. Ally tells me to bair and I just keep forgetting to implement that. I also lost to his diddy....that's his month old secondary. any help would be great. *there will be a better quality , screen capture, version of this if you don't want to critque this one yet*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVgZoQzGyP0&p=B0973135B370DAB8

This guy's DDD ALWAYS ***** me. Seriously, what do I do in that MU?! I'm lost, so please I need help in that MU.

I also lost to a MK. He's now ranked higher than me on PR. I don't want to lose to random MKs anymore so when I get that vid I'll post it up.

I do feel myself improving, and that's a good thing.

Is there any feedback for what to do vs DDD?

And Pwn, the link show favourites. On that row of titles just click on uploads and you will find some.

Lol I feel like a noob, yeah I was looking through favorites!

Wow Malcolm's Wario is pretty ****! His style is quite unique, involving lots of small reads and solid aggro and defense. I noticed a distinct shortage of Nair and a complete lack of bike/tire usage, making this style seem a tad bit old fashioned to me. I loved the gimp against Junebug on SV haha, tooo good xD

he attempted that gimp again VS Junebug on Frigate, but Junebug knocked him away with a fair and grabbed the ledge. the he did a ledgehop airdodge, Malcolm read the airdodge and farted on him! seriously, Malcolm is too damn good.

his banana control was f*cking insane as well!

I wish there were Malcolm VS M2K vids there too... :(

if he used tires more I'm not sure if it would greatly improve his gameplay...

did u guys see the match against Meep's IC's? I think that's a MU showmatch if I ever saw one. should definitely be posted up somewhere here or in the matchup thread. Meep was INCREDIBLY consistent with his CG's. every single grab he got led to the loss of a stock with the exception of one where Malcolm DI'd the usmash and survived.

the matches against Diddy show some amazing use of bite as well... Malcolm is definitely the one to look up to no matter what your playstyle is.

Yo pwneroni, my turn to try to give some feedback.

I don't like saying this, since you make sure you point out it is your style, but I truly think you were overly aggressive. Thing is, against characters like Zelda who fiiieeend a grab release to do damage or kill, you HAVE to play more carefully and bait them hard.

K-Dash simply outplayed you, specifically he baited you way more than you baited him. Like, in the first match I thought you were going to capatilize on his bad habit of shielding alll daiii. You were biting him all the time, then stopped and instead gave him free grabs with nairs and such. While he was waiting for you to go for tires, and to fall into his shield.

I think Wario's bite ***** low tiers, and zelda is one of them.

And yeah, when a match is getting close and you got some time to wait for the fart you might as well wait for it. It's hard to think of that at the moment but maybe for next time.

You did some awesome damn things to. In the first match you were applying the pressure so damn well and never got into zelda's grab range, plus biting once again. And some of those tire traps were soooo good. I can see the person confused on what to do, now that's a showcase of tires on FD. I learned a lot watching those vids.

Haha thanks Gichan, don't be afraid to give critiques (at least to me, I won't get all defensive xD)! What you said was true, I was definitely overly aggressive in the Zelda matchup. Like there are definitely ways to be aggressive and safe at the same time, and tires really help in that department. However, it's pretty easy to fall into bad habits when attempting this style.

K-Dash is a terriffic player, he consistently beat me back in '08 using the same style of shielding and baiting. I lost by a significantly larger margin back in those days though haha (I used Fsmash a lot, you can see where that would go lol). I think my best way to improve would be to A. Use bite more, and B. Pay more attention to patterns. While watching the match myself, I noticed K-Dash simply dodged a lot of my attacks in the air. These could easily turn into airdodge reads! Oh and obvously C. Don't get grabbed!

Do you guys mind if I post some doubles videos? Its really all we play at smashfests in Iowa, and I've got the GF set from one of our locals. Should I post them in Critique thread instead?

The Wario boards tend to focus more on singles, but doubles are definitely a great part of the game too :) If you want critique, then yes the critique thread would be a great place to post vids. If you just wanna share some matches that you thought were awesome, post em here!

Hate fighting Drake with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. ROB's nair and bair are just so ********. Luckily they project like a mofo too so I shaped up and flew right the last two games.

vs Pikachu
Pwneroni vs Brick MM r1

This match shows a little bit of tire stuff that I've been working on (still needs a lot of work though). Pretty much was getting owned the first part of the match, luckily Brick's finger slipped haha. Well I felt bad but it was for $5 so I"LL TAKE IT!

Pwn vs Brick mm r2

Frigate Orpheon is pretty crazy sometimes! Those slants work really well for hitting with your tires though!

Woo! Pwneroni, that was a close one! Well played.

Oh, by the way, is it a bad thing to host a local tourney, and win it?

Hey guys, I've got a replay for you from my tourney this past Saturday

Huggles :wario: vs. Milesg2g :metaknight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll2Lp654YXQ

I was really looking for a critique if y'all could give me one (is this the right place to ask? Wasn't sure since I didn't see anywhere specifically for critiques). I used to play Wario a lot in 2008 and kinda dropped him; I'm wanting to use him as a second for Link's bad matchups. Sorry there's only one, I forgot to save the other match in the set, haha. Be nice, I've only picked Wario back up within the past couple weeks :D

first off, try to play the matchup more. I know its hard to find mks in SC let alone brawl itself, but it seems like you didnt know how to punish mk :(

Less airdodge>fsmash

Dont get trapped in spotdodge habits, it shows that your scared with wario and they will control you likea***** expecting your defensive options which is most likely to come out when we are scared. I have the same bad habit. :(

0:24 should have been an oos nair instead of a spotdodge jab
0:31 him Dtilting like that is a free grab. you could have had mk grabbed if you kept your shield up and shieldgrabbed. instead of jump>dair. our jump takes like 8 frames to come out where as mk's dtilt takes 2 frames for startup and has a 10 frame cooldown. Within that 10 frame cooldown there is NO way wario can jump (8 frames) and Dair (first hit on frame 5 or 6) our fastest airial (nair) comes out on frame 4 so that would = 12 frames where as mk can just dtilt you again if you attempt ANY oos airial.

1:41 look he shuttle looped and missed. Free clap, grab, waft (if you had it) keep your eyes open for that. Mk knows he is in trouble when he misses a shutteloop like that. Or any when wario is onstage. Grounded shuttle loop = shield > clap easy.

2:25 your dair is taking WAYYYY too long to break the bike. What i personally would have done is picked up the bike, walked over (kinda as a bait and to get closer) and dthrow it. Dthrowing the bike is really good since it pressures mk and you can stay under the bike and it wont hurt you while it bounces. I like to run up to mk when i dthrow the bike and try to grab them and throw them into the bike for some silly damage.

2:28 airdodgeing behind mk will only mean that mk doesnt really have any offensive options except nair oos. they are gonna try to wait for you to do something when their back it towards you and they have their shield up. fsmash didnt really make any sense at all right there.
Things that could go wrong: 1) mk will shield it and you will get naired in the face (which happened lol)
2) mk will roll away and there you are recovering from a fsmash leaving you open again.
grab would have been more acceptable. if they kept their shield up the grab woulda got them. If they rolled away, the grab cooldown isnt as bad as the fsmash cooldown so you can get away before mk punishes you.

2:30 you shielded a shuttle loop which, on reaction, should input Dash forward trot+ Y+forward+ upC.
OR since he came down and hit you again, that would have been a free grab. THEN he does it again, which should be you dash forward>shield>grab. instead of running away and bair.

2:40 mk on the ledge: i dont really see how fair could be helpful in that situation. Ftilt is sooo good when they are on the ledge. It beats tornado and spaces really well.

2:44 mk shuttleloops: you had the right idea, but bite wasnt the right choice. that was a perfect time to just grab mk and upthrow (to juggle) or Fthrow (for 11.5 damage)

2:53 mk missed a shuttle loop, means you should run towards him and shield where he would land. Free grab again. if he continues gliding, its free again since there is NO way he can hit you and its basically a guessing game to if he is going for the ledge or if he is landing.
You went for the fart, which would have gotten him if you ran forward and shielded the glide attack>jump>downB.

4:09 you got the nair off which could have combo'd into the second hit of the nair, but you retreated.

Major improvements: i dont understand why you use airdodge>fsmash so much :( desperation maybe.
-dont be so scared against mk. i honestly see some of my habits in your playstyle which just kills me inside to see other warios doing the same inane nonsense i do. Dont be scared of mk, know what you can do. dont always retreat. Good/smart pressure + spacing +punish is what frustrates mks. Not retreating after every hit.

**Please dont take it like im coming off like a jerk telling you all the things that you lack and you being scared. I want you to improve. i wouldnt have worked this long and hard on this writeup if i didnt want you to get better.**

My posts are NEVER this long. <3

Haha, thanks Dyno. That's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I don't think my Wario is necessarily bad but I definitely don't have a lot of experience with him and don't know the matchups for him/my best options in situations. I only had a little bit of practice before SALT since SALT started right after my latest batch of exams. Hopefully I'll get some time to practice using him some more and learning all my options before the next time I head down there, haha.

np huggles. I have a basic mk that can help you learn the matchup if you sit down and play with me for a bit. Hopefully BBC or the next salt.

I have been behind on updating the thread so if everyone could please repost their vids, ill be more than happy to update it really soon.

@s!c: ill critique when i get home from school today, just post up in the critique thread.

Good stuff with that. I've spent some time this weekend trying to work on my tire shenanigans, myself. I'll have to keep this video in mind.

Had a few questions from the footage on this page:

How do you cancel the bite if you're trying to gimp?

Also, how do you eat your bike? Just bite?
You don't cancel it; it all depends on how many buttons the opponent presses, which is why Bite is a terrible idea for gimping unless you don't mind dying, as well. If someone ever used Bite on me off-stage, I'd just wait until right before we both die before I release myself, so that you die and I can recover.

If you Bite near an item, you'll eat it. The Bike is no exception. Also, as far as I can tell, items appear to have priority over opponents if they're both in the area when Wario uses Bite, so, keep that in mind.
