Nah i think im just gonna do the roy people a favor here, though i do need to find some roy sound rips (if anyone has a melee iso, contact me).

I got some requests: Luigi with his voice from Melee, Mario with his voice from Melee, Ganondorf's voice from Melee/Ocarina Of Time and Marth with Roy's voice.

I think besides sound replacement, is it possible to remove sounds? Or would you just be better off replacing those with dead sound? I'm asking because my first move will be removing those annoying sounds Captain Falcon makes when he runs or moves his legs in general. Beyond that, I'm hoping there's a way to properly initiate a "heavy hit" sound effect where the character yells out in agony (in addition to the heavy hit sound in general).

I would have never thought Sound Effects would have made such progress. Are there still a whole bunch of restrictions ? Or did you manage to break free of some of them ?
(I'm thinking about the size restrictions, mainly ...)

you can just go into PSA and remove the sound effect from said subactions...

I don't know about the other question...

Patience is getting a little tough here I see. I should say that probably the easieast way to use the new sound i'm guessing is to burn a new disc (or usb loader) And... I am guessing it's not gonna be the easiest to download other peoples sounds, so maybe we can make a program to create custom packs, that we can share with eachother, then the program can convert them back and insert the,. it's beyond my scope of programming, but someone may be able to do it someday -coughkryalcough- lol

That makes sense. For my other idea, is there any global sound actions that can be applied? IIRC, isn't common3.pac or common5.pac used for such (as in, the universal sound effects)? If that's true, I could simply edit out the "whoosh" flying effect after a big hit, replace it with the heavy hit sound (the universal one from Melee, not the yells), and then place that sound effect so that it occurs on hit (or very close to it), rather than where it's placed now.

But as for the individuals yells... would I have to do the same thing except on every character .pac? I have to redownload PSA sometime (it's been crashing on me when I load motionetc) and experiment.

PSA doesn't load MotionEtc.pacs, only moveset.pacs, that's why its been crashing for you.
Got it. I found it odd because I wasn't finding anything in the other .pacs.
I probably need to look through them again when I have the chance.

Apparently the guide didn't take long and he's working on something else to release with it. Basically he's either finished the guide and is (for whatever reason) waiting until he's done with the voice pack he's doing until he releases it, OR, is working on said voice pack and will make the guide after that.

Of course the likely reason behind either is so that we have a foolproof example on how it works and that it indeed DOES work. :3

Not to discourage anyone (especially Vile, still waiting on sound effects as well as you guys lol), but I don't think it does good to bump this topic anyway if he's not going to respond.

Going to lock this for now, if Vile sees this and wants to PM me to unlock this to post something, he can.
