I think you miss understand me Shaya saying 'you need to come to us first'_ This is irrelevant because no-one should need to go somewhere 'first'_ My statement was merely about if we held a national tournament would people honestly be willing to make the trip here purely because of the cost and as you stated "you don't 'know' us"_

We haven't held a national because our scene was lacking previously and has recently grown and developed much more maturely with a big nod going to Vlade's organisation in my absence as a T.O_ It would make sense for us to hold a national now that we have developed our skills and size into something more viable and appropriate_

I understand that the East are tight all too well and it makes sense i mean with a flight costing you like what $60_? Hell if we had flight costs that cheap i would of made the trip much earlier_ We are making an effort to represent ourselves at SQUAT this year, keeping in mind the costs and fact that some people here are still at school/ don't work_ My question was, would people be willing to actually make the trip if we held a national, regardless of knowing us or not_

Due to the sheer distance of W.A from the rest of the states, we would obviously prefer to have as many eastern participants as possible to make this a worthwhile national, rather than see it tumble roll into the perth crew with 1 'special guest'_ I'm just looking out for us over here Shaya nothing against you or the eastern states_ We would be putting alot of time, energy and money into this national and i would hate to see it get spat back in our faces_

Swordsaint you're really bad at provoking people but you make me laugh_ How many people actually attended Eastern Invasion from the eastern states_? We are obviously pushing for much larger numbers for a Brawl/ Melee national over here_

Don't be afraid of us Shaya_ We only kill foreign backpackers ;)

Shaya toon links are really not that hard to beat. Certain characters can play calm and beat him. You just have to pretend the porjectiles are bullets and you dodge each one then space a move out correctly. Although you can't dodge sam's bullets so easily because he uses a machine gun where i only hold a pistol at this time.

Easier said than done there.

It's okay, you brought DDR :D

Nah but since you're on public transport that is understandable. But people with cars I strongly encourage to bring TVs if possible.

Lol so I guess I'll bring two TV's from now on. Unless my one is way too small. I reckon we could get 20 TV's for the national. But I only have one wii so we'll need one more then usual.

Vlade if you and sam Combined it will be more like:

SAMISTAR.

Sounds good that you can bring two t.v's Jupz. Yeah i think we could even get 35 T.V's going for the national tourney.

Jupz to get crew battles working you need travis to shout out everyone come here we are doing crew battles. Otherwise people will just continue to play friendlies.

Well in my house we have two t.v's. Just alittle bigger then glenn's t.v. We can go to mr.rental and rent about 15 t.v's which we might be able to pay for later on if we get 100 people coming paying $10 each to enter the venue. $1000 already. $300 goes to venue the rest for the rented t.v's and the remaining can go to Vlade i guess.

Trill basically their are two crews with players in it. Players are split up evenly. We all vs each other 1 vs 1 and if you keep wining your matches you vs the next person in the crew. But i think we should still make it as a crew we choose only one character and make it like 10 stock or how many ever people we have so it's continues.

that wouldn't work with crew battles

The point of crew battles is to predict what player the other crew is going to send in, and try to counter it. E.g. if crew A sends in a falco player, crew B would want to send in a Marth player.

Crew battles isn't necessarily who has the better players - there's quite a bit of strategy involved with choosing who's going to play for you. At genesis Atlantic North crew went even with the SoCal crew, despite the SoCal crew being on their home turf and having all their best players to represent. I don't think this crew battle was finished though, but it ended at 12 stocks each (I think).

Atl North:

Chibosempai
Vex Kasrani (best bowser, but I don't think he used bowser in the crew battle)
Inui (crew captain, and a fricking genius at being one. plays meta)
Atomsk (one of, if not the best DDD)
M2k (best player in the world, nuff said)
Malcom (best sonic)
Pierce (marth, although not the best)
Darc (marth, better at melee though)
Jman (melee player)
ADHD (best freaking diddy)

As you can see, no ninjalink because he was stuck in NY for some reason

Socal:

Havok (like, 2nd best marth I think)
Tyrant (3rd best player in the world?)
Lee Puff (2nd best G&W I think, since UTD Zac places better than him now)
DEHF (best freaking falco, one of the top players and is my idol)
SK92 (2nd best falco and also someone I look up to)
FOW (best ness in the world)
MikeHAZE (best marth, came 3rd at EVO. Nuff said)
Fiction (best wario, one of the best players)
Rick Brown (weakest link in the crew, but still a great player)
DSF (at least USED to be one of the best in the world, didn't do so hot at genesis though)

As you can see, SoCal clearly had the advantage, yet with smart captaincy from inui Atl North managed to keep it even. E.G. at the start Inui predicted SoCal to send in Havok... and he inui sends in Mew2king. And lol, SoCal sends in Havok :p Mew2king 2 stocks him (shouldve been 3-stocked but there was trashtalking during the match which put him off apparently).

So yeah, crew battles are very deep :p

Should be able to bring a TV for 'nationals' when rents get a digital tv for the back room. Only problem is the current one in the back is a huge thing, so would need help to drag it up the stairs XD

I'm in with a Wii+Brawl+my yelling voice, but is there any chance of the price dropping down back to $5 singles and $10 doubles? I know a few of us aren't in the best financial positions and I'm not exactly rolling in cash either. I lol'd at the name and bonus prizes.

Ok yeah if that means more people will attend then yes I might go with that idea trav. I'll get opinions from everyone first.

Also get pumped for crew battles, you can trash talk as much as you want. And yes I will probably need your voice trav :p

also as you can see lylat has been moved to neutral for this tourney so either stage strike or agree on a stage for the first match. i have allowed PS2 as well but aside from that there have been no other changes (<3 vlades ruleset :p)

Yeah Jupz I suggest you lower the entry fees but keep it at 60/30/10 or maybe change it to 70/20/10 if there aren't many entrants

Even with the entry at $5 it's still a decent prize, after not winning much money twice in a row I've come to realise things that attending tournaments is all for fun and experience. Before my main purpose was to win for the glory and reputation but now it's completely different.

Love you guys

Price drop to $5 will be good. The only ever time it should be $10 is if we have a huge gap and long wait from one tourney to another.

Vlade my goal is really to just go super saiyen and pull out some combo's.
