As for me not liking 12, refer to Moose's post.
...except I don't even like the music. As I said, I haven't played FF13 myself, but I watched someone play it at the last SA tourney I was at, it does look interesting, but I'll reserve opinions until I play it for a while.

FF9 has the best soundtrack. </Unrelated>

I like songs from all different games. FF13's battle themes was one of my favourite, but at the same time I like all the other battle themes.

Once again I can't really call anything better than the other in terms of music because they were all so amazing. Each OST worked for each game very well. I remember though that 12 did have a weaker than normal soundtrack in my opinion, although it's been that long since I played it.

It was good, it's just there was nothing that I would go to Youtube and instantly download the song to listen to. Whereas when I heard the FF13 battle theme I instantly loved it.

Nooo thats ignorant.. golden sun boss themes wer pumping as XD I like it when brawl***s complain about battle systems. All the Final Fantasy BS's are excellent in there own way. Most only hate it because its actually semi challenging and therefor must be broken and imbalanced.

The gaming world got caught up in shiny graphics and epic storylines and forgot the what the whole point is.. to play a game. I think this best describes it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7VAhzPcZ-s

Squall was pretty emotional. I can kind of understand why, but sometimes he just really took it over the edge.

I mean, there's being a lone wolf, and just being a ****ing freak.

Laguna on the other hand. Should have just made the whole game revolve around him. He was amazing. Why couldn't Squall be more like his father.

nah squall was the ****, people just mislabeled him as an emo, which would make a pretty **** character if it was true, but its really not.

oh I'm a really serious person who doesnt talk much, guess that makes me an emo

I'ma stick my **** in your ****ing ear.
Lol, must be small to fit in an ear.
In all seriousness though, Squall's ok, he has some moments. He's not ridiculously overrated like Cloud AND Lionheart is uber.

Ultimecia is awesome, despite having next to no development. :/

God I hate doing things.

Why do I have to care about these people.

Why do I care.

Etc etc.

He hated everything and everyone. I mean look at when he first met Rinoa. Sure he came through at the end, but Laguna was waaaaay better. He did ****, took action.

Sure he may have got leg cramps, BUT HE WALKED IT OFF MAN.

Rinoa disappeared and he ****ing rolled around in bed for days.

On that note, Lionheart was great and Renzokuken allows you to easy mode the game if you know the Limit Break trick.

There are better things to put that body part in, son. You're too young to know any better siiiiiigh.

FF8's battle system is hilarious. Hero's + Limit/Aura/△ button. Junction anything = game defeated. AND the enemies leveled up with your characters, wtf?

Lol. The whole game for me is like this. Squall low HP. Junction 100 Fire from Fire Cavern on Squall. Triangle button. Change Magic accordingly. Hit 255 Str. Get Aura. Win game.

****...
Talk about critical.
Let's just start from the FF12 part...

I never played it first-hand, but considering I could watch my brother play it for hours, I think that shows that I thought it was pretty good (though, admittedly I can watch anyone play anything and enjoy it). Nonetheless I found the battle system creative and neat. I enjoy it MUCH more than standard ATB crap, that's boring as ****. I also think the graphics were sexy and the atmosphere was godly. The story was weak, so was 13s, but I don't see people saying anything about 13s story being ****? Odd. The characters weren't good, agreed, but some of them were. The costumes were fantastic, too, it reminded me a lot of Vagrant Story; i.e. great. <3 The music was CRAP! It wasn't music, though. If you look at it as just ambience then it was lovely. c: The game as a whole was definitely GOOD, but not fantastic.

12 was 'too' different to the others, and people didn't like it. That's the PLAIN truth of it. You can't say it was slow, every battle is slow... AT THE START, tools. God. It's the whole 'knock it before you try it' thing. If you put effort into 12, you might not be OMG-ed by it, but you certainly wouldn't think it ****. It was as customizable as 10 and 13s, but it was hard to get into and understand. ... This is all coming from someone who hasn't played, but watched it. .. First hand, though.

Breath of Fire? Yep. All of them were and are great. BUT I love 5 the most because it's so DIFFERENT. The story is a LOT darker, and the atmosphere. The music was... god... I loved it more than love itself. Basically, I'm trying to say, the less generic, the better, to me.

I.E, again, Vagrant Story. One of my most favourite battles. STORY was FCUKING good. And the translation was beyond epic. <3

And ICO, it's not an RPG, I know, but it was different, had a dark-ish story, and dreamy graphics.

The RPG/esque games that stand out to me are...

FF7 (first game I played) <3333
FF6/8/9/10/12/Tactics/12:RW/CC:RoF/TA/TA2 <333
BoF 3/4/5 <333
ToSymphonia/Phantasia/Destiny <33
Vagrant Story <3333
Grandia <333
Legend of Legaia/Dragoon/Mana <33
Vandal Hearts 1/2 <333
Suikoden 1/2/3/5 <3333
Castlevania: SoTn/AoS/DoS <333
Wild Arms 1/3 <33
Parasite Eve 2 <33
Chrono Cross/Trigger <3
Bahamut Lagoon <333
Fire Emblem 4/5/6/7/8 <33
Star Ocean 1/2/3 (4 seems ok, too, a bit gay, though) <333
Valkyrie Profile <33
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen/Soul Reaver 1/2 <3
Dragon Valor <3
SaGa Frontier 1/2/Unlimited <33
Alundra <33
Jade Cocoon 1/2 <33
Dark Cloud/Chronicle <333
Kingdom Hearts 1/2 <3
.hack <3
Phantom Brave <33
Disgaea 1/2/3 <3
Shadow Hearts 2 <333
La Pucelle Tactics <3
Odin Sphere <33
Terranigma <3
Secret of Mana 1/2/3 <3
Ogre Battle <3
Tactics Ogre <3
Summon Night Craft Sword 1/2/3 <3
Yggdra Union <33
The World Ends With You <33
Luminous Arc 1/2 <3
Golden Sun 1/2 <33
Skies of Arcadia (never played but looks <33)

PSO!!!!!!!! :D <3333333 Spent over 300 hours on it. c:

Obviously the bigger the heart the more I liked it.

That's only like 1/4 of all the games I've played. But I enjoyed ALL of those. c: There are lots I didn't like, but as you can see I easily like games, just like with most everything. Though, ironically, I hate a lot, too. Hmmm... Also, most of them are similar to each other, yes, but the ones I liked MORE are the ones with interesting and new things in them.

Anyway.
Basically.
You're all douches if you hate something for being new and wanting to be different.
Get an open mind and enjoy/accept things more.
D!ckheads.

Edit:

Also, I see here, a bunch of fcuking hypocrites and fcuking tools.
All talking about opinions and how they aren't backed up, and do the same thing back, wtf.
Get up me in that other stupid thread for posting my opinions.
Talk about being the biggest dumb fcuks.
Srsly, gtfo and die, **** cun tz.

Edit 2:

Squall was an emo, but he was sexy, so shut up. Cloud was an emo, too, wtf. But everyone loved his block hands, lol. Cloud and Squall are fanboy-ed too much. No one likes Zidane, dunno why, too happy? FF8 was hard if you didn't easy mode it, like ANY other game. They were all hard if you played it without being gay.
Anyway, back to my point - if they aren't emo, no one likes them. If they are, then they criticize the emo, but like them, still. Squall was way too depressed, cheer the **** up, god. Cloud was much better. <3 And Zidane was good, but too happy, and had a fcuking monkey tail. No one likes MONKEY tails, should've been a wolf or fox tail, then all the furries, including myself, would hump him. <3
I don't see why you'd like any of them when Ashley Riot is by far the hottest character. <3
And Justin from Grandia.

... Also on another note...
Grandia 1, in my mind, has the only GOOD love plot/scene in any game I have played.

Get back into the kitchen and make me dinner, *****.
And make my bed.
And give me soap for shower.
<3

Edit:

If that was directed at either me or Zac...
Srsly, mang.
Lesbian pride.

... Actually, that's gross.
What if both lesbians had PMS? instant break up?

I dont understand why cloud had to be emo, like in 7 he was nowhere near being an emo, and by the end of the game he was pretty much normal, and then in advent children and crisis core they just **** him up and completely change his charcter and ruin all the character devolpment in 7.

also squall wasnt emo, he was a control freak and had a supierioty complex or whatever.

and whats bahumut lagoon like kas, I always wanted to play that.

Cloud was a bit of an emo in some areas of FF7 iirc. Like umm, ugh I've forgotten but it's after the Ultimate Weapon attacks the grass city.
Or maybe I'm thinking of the wrong game. I'd rather have a main like Squall than... Tidus urgh. "HAHAHAHAHA"...... awful, awful...

i am thinking of a game that was an rpg and a dating sim... haven't finished it yet forgot what it was called, it was for ps1 tho XD. it was pretty good.

zidane huh. i didn't really like him he like was french and weared girly frilly makeup. the story was good tho and i guess i liekd his weapon and character enough =)

tidus was alright... bit cliche.

cloud was cool.. didn't say much tho XP big sword makes him cool.

squall was cool.. he dressed cool imo. gunblade was cool aswell.. also limit break abuse was fun.
i remember the time when i cheated to get "the end" with selphie everytime XD

vaan... abit of a douche.. not much of a fan of ff12. the way people talked was abit annoying and ashe was er... not interesting. but still enjoyed the game overall =) gilgameshhhh

lets talk about charlies angles i mean X-2... it was ok in some areas, but i could have lived with a different game XD.

FFX-2, lol.
Just lol. I dunno, the battle system had potential, it.... just wasn't implemented properly. The story was rather strange, and the only thing I like about it that I can remember is the moogle outfit/job. >_> And I'm pretty sure X-2 had the worst soundtrack ever.
Minus one of those J-Pop songs.

X-2. God. Was a good game, just. Didn't like the mission system. And getting the Moogle dress-sphere was really, really, really ****. I followed a walkthrough and I still didn't get it. That's how bad it was.

Change system in battle was really good though, having different classes like FF5. It was actually interesting.

Story was pretty whack. I mean, there was like 3 different endings. And they were all decided on whistles.

CBF reading the last posts_ Isn't mystwalker working on "The Last Story" for Wii Luke_? That game has some great concept art, hope it turns out to be just as amazing_

I enjoyed FF13 because it was different_ Unfortunately people don't realise that if you rehash the same thing again and again, people become bored of it_ It's like how Capcom still to this day uses a horrible and unforgivable movement layout for the Resi evil games_ Why do i have to stand to shoot_?! Why can't i strafe_?! Why do i turn around in a ****ing circle on the spot_?! Resi evil is a good example of being afraid to change something that needs to be changed, and changing all the good stuff for the worst_

Final Fantasy Tactics rocked btw_ Second favourite after FFVII_

That movement layout was amazing and was created like that purposefully to create a sense of fear within the game.

The new Resident Evil's with their shooter gameplay only served to kill off a great series that DIDN'T NEED to be ****ed with.

Urrrggggghhhhhh.

Lol
Just lol.
I hate doctors.

I now have a life threatening illness (cbf explaining what, just know that it's not nice) which is going to take several months to treat. So over it. Now I'm ****ing moodier than ever. And pain is lame. Urrrrrrrrrgha.

Hospitals are annoying. Hospital food is disgusting. I'm over being sick 90% of the time which makes it impossible to get healthy. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I wanna kill someone.

Edit: lol @ typos.

I think the new movement scheme in RE is fine. Not suited to old RE, of course, but the new actiony RE is served well by it, imo.

Old RE worked well with the whole 'I have no idea what I'm even aiming at' control scheme.
