I was playing against a CPU (Level 9 jigglypuff) and somewhere in the middle of the match it was charging up its rollout move, and I used Usmash. It released, and it just went right through Zelda (about right as she finished her second sweep with her hands).

EDIT: Video uploaded. Decide for youself.

No, Jiggly went right through... I think the attack frames for the Usmash were over?

was it in the air? maybe it was slowing itself down?

rollout has wonky hitboxes... I know sometimes I can be knocked out of it with a wimpy needle and sometimes I can blast through fully charged charge shots.

It wasn't in the air, everything happened near the ground. It's probably just rollout though.... Tell me if you want me to send the video to you.

I would record it with a camcorder but that's really bad quality... plus I don't even know where it is ;;

I was going to tell DM but he hasn't been on AIM for a while.

I think technically any move has an extremely low chance to trip opponents, but only if they are touching the ground at the end of the move. Some moves have modified that standard chance to a much better change, like luigi's dtilt.

So when you DI out of Zelda's upsmash, and you are as tall as luigi, you are touching the ground as you escape. The move has a miniscule chance to cause tripping, and you two saw it a few times.

You don't see this with other moves that aren't meant to trip because your feet aren't touching the ground as you are launched. ex: falcon punch, ness fsmash. you're feet are no where near the ground as you go flying

come on sucker lick my battery
the roll out might have just hit your up smash and the two moves canceled each other out. do your usmash stop instantly after it hit

also check the damage metor. thingy. if you took damage then you know it hit you and there might be super armor.

It would have been really obvious if they cancelled out. Jiggly just went through. I'm going to send the replay to Mega.

EDIT: Mega, I need you to add my wii code so I can send it to you. Thanks (:

No really, I quit.
It changed directions, like I mentioned...

Jigglypuff doesnt have a hit/hurtbox during the change direction section of rollout, meaning neither you nor it would get hit. It doesnt automatically change directions, it has a drift animation before it goes back the other way.

It changed directions before it went through you, it only finally stopped drifting at a point past you because it takes time for jigglypuff to go the other way, instead of making jigglypuff vulnerable during this duration, they just make her intangible, you cant hit her, she can't hit you.

I agree with Rykoshet. It's easily recreatable to prove that it's a property of Jigglypuff's roll-out and not Zelda's Usmash.

How could it seem like anything but? Against the other 38 or so characters in the game does zelda's up smash come up with some magic invincibility frames? No, which means it's entirely likely it has to do with jigglypuff and not zelda herself.

I'm gonna try to recreate it later. It should be easy to do if its really just Jigglypuff.

As a former jigglypuf main, and a current Zelda main ......... Ryko is right

Just test it out by shooting fox lasers. She'll keep doing the move but if she turns invincible at some point she won't take damage.

Clearly though it's a Jiggs thing.

I came to think about this thread when something strange happened to me recently!

I cought a freind in her Usmash during a 3 player free for all!

While the multiple hits damaged my friend the third player threw an item at me (dont remember what items it was) Nothing happened to me!
The item went straight through me! O_O

I remember it was an item that CAN hit you!
very wierd..

I'm NOT making this up!

I suppose the best way to test this is a 3v1, with 3 foxes and 1 Zelda, and shoot lasers at her while she Usmashes. I myself don't have 3 other controllers to test it.
