So I'm ngl, I hopped on the Edelgard bandwagon pretty quick. I don't know **** about her character or the game she's from but her cute and classy design, and the possibly using a weapon/play style that we don't have in Smash yet definitely makes me interested in her, regardless of the "too many FE characters" argument.
also I'm calling this chick Adele from now on because I have no idea how to pronounce her name and plus I think it's kinda cute heh.

Which, A) kind of directly correlates to the opinions of their collective audience, and B) they're a business, that's what they do.

We always need to remember that "we"-- as in, us on this forum-- are only a small subset of their total user base that they need to please, and an even smaller subset of their total revenue. I don't think we have 12 million+ active users.

While I do enjoy being active on here, I've recently been realizing I think I spend too much time here sometimes, and some of the recent drama just got me a bit burnt out. Not saying she couldn't be a unique addition, but I'd really prefer we not get Edelgard. FE has already gotten a chance to get extra promotion through DLC. Why not let another franchise take a turn instead of relying once again on a FE protagonist?

I heard about the Direct this morning, exciting stuff! So happy I was wrong about my March prediction.

I've seen some pretty out there predictions across different places, though. One prediction I saw was someone saying that they'll announce Erdrick as DLC, but give no Joker footage because next month's Persona OVA will have that. Which...would make no sense, so I'm not sure I buy that, lol.
Honestly, I'm not gonna make predictions. All I want is some Joker, LM3, and Animal Crossing footage. Gimme one of those and I'm happy.
