I'll say right now, I doubt it. I don't think we're getting any new Smash characters announced this direct. We're getting Joker gameplay for sure, but I don't think it's time yet for Erdrick.

Back during Fates, the Dev Team was divided into Team A and Team B and each worked on different parts of the games. Team A wanted more traditional Fire Emblem stuff, but Team B wanted the more fanservice-y stuff that Fates became infamous for, to the point that what ended up being released was actually incredibly tame compared to what Team B initially planned...and that's for the Japanese version, not the international one.

Team B Shenanigans is basically a catch-all for things like Camilla-esque fanservice, Nowi-like designs, the facepetting thing Fates had, and child characters shoehorned in with no regards to the story.

Erm, some peoples are also hinting at Pokemon teaser tomorrow. However, the games I actually only care about are action and RPG games. I hope there isn't a lot of strategy games.

I'm especially looking forward to the new Mario & Luigi game for Switch, but considering that the remake of the third game was released, I don't think I'll see it for a lot.

Anyways... Remember that nothing is ever officially confirmed. What the user said about upcoming games MIGHT be wrong.

If they port an actually good Mario game like Super Mario Maker, then porting that game will become acceptable.

I'm for it because more people should play that game, but I still own a perfectly good Wii U so I haven't bought any ports of perfectly good Wii U games. Besides Mario Kart 8.

I'm much more excited by older games that need the upgrade treatment. Games that aren't even in 16:9 720p yet, or would perform much better with a Joycon than a friggin' Wiimote.

It makes you wonder what a game developed solely by Team A would have been. Fates had a decent premise at least.

Sigh... More worries due to the Direct. All I'm gonna say is don't expect the next DLC character to be revealed this time especially since I recall the span of DLC to be competed would take 1-2 years, and it's barely past 2 months of age, the game that is. I'm not even expecting Joker info to happen either unless we're lucky. Whether or not this sounds petty to people, it's more of me being cautious, and I rather be patient at this time.
But as for what I'd want? Probably just anything related to Monster Hunter, as there's been rumors of a new one in the making... and if that happens, higher chances of MH being a character? Sign me up.
