Let's all just stop fighting and agree Chief is the best choice you cowards.

The man and game of the 2000s. Halo's no slouch. It being seen as Mr. Microsoft will make WAVES, the Metroid x Halo crossover would finally happen (rip Monty), the series created machinima as a media source, and Chief the character is possibly more well-known than Steve the character. I won't deny Minecraft's the bigger deal due to sale numbers, but I wonder if Chief would edge out Steve in the character department.

I don't think many characters would come anywhere close to Chief in the 'HOLY **** HE'S ACTUALLY IN?!?!?' department. While I'm against adding characters on hype alone, MC has a lot more to offer than just hype. And the 'finishes the fight' tagline for the 5th fighter pass character writes itself.

Feel like Chief and Lara Croft are the only A-tier icons missing from Smash

Nearly all the games worth a damn are on the Switch or 3DS, either as ports or as better games than the Wii U's entry.
The GamePad was a disaster of a controller. A prototype Switch if you will.

The only good thing about it was, funnily enough, the online system. You could actually gift games to friends, have access to everyone you played and adding them via that method, and better apps. The fact these were all removed baffles me.

I think down the line the new VC system if you call it that will end up being better than the old way, but they need to be quicker with releases.

My favorite games on the WiiU VC are the Mother games and the Mario RPGs, and not all of them (or any IIRC) are on the Switch.

It's underrated though imo

I was pretty pessimistic about a Direct this month. Would be cool to see one come earlier than I thought! I wonder if it'll be a General, and what will it contain?

Crash is also a huge deal in the gaming industry.

Not only he would work great alongside Cloud and Snake for a certain thing involving Playstation, but it is worth to note that Crash Bandicoot Warped for the PS1 used to be the best-selling western videogame in Japan since its launch, and it was always that way until Spider-Man PS4 released there.

That’s around a decade, so that means a lot.

That's true - Crash is definitely up there

All three would be standout picks though

I mean in the sense that for series with multiple protagonists there's not necessarily going to be an obvious most-iconic pick (as shown by differences in opinion over who the RE rep should be) compared to a series where, as there's only one protagonist or only one of note, the choice is much clearer

Crash is A-Tier for sure but he's owned by Activision, not Sony. Master Chief has that "Holy crap" and "5 years go this would have been a troll roster" factor.
