really rare to find other people into hip-hop on message boards like this.
I usually have to go to /mu/ and even then most people on 4chan are racist not into rap music
Really sucks cause I feel like the genre isn't taken seriously despite the fact that there's a lot going for it

Real music talk: I've heard some great Hip-Hop, but by and large the genre does nothing for me. Sicko Mode just came across as a lot of genre cliches over a super simple beat. I'm surprised to hear you have a hard time finding people to talk about it with though. Seems pretty popular everywhere I look.

I ain't sharing my music tastes. It's far too unorthodox.

Like wolf was good but his old music is plagued with gay slurs and complaining about critics.

Sicko mode defintely grew on me, as I was very skeptical of Travis Scott due to the fact that I LOVED his 2015 album Rodeo and then his following album was garbage. But honestly I don't even think Sicko Mode is the best song on his newest album, it's only that popular cause of the Drake feature.

Also yes, rap's pretty popular, but not that many people take it seriously. Like not a lot of people are willing to discuss the intricacies of it such as flow, rhyme scheme, wordplay, etc.
Probably due to it being kind of a "pop" genre right now

This might be odd to most people, but I dislike all lyrics I can understand. It makes me feel like i'm listening to someone talk rather than listening to nice-sounding music. I like vocals as an instrument, not really when I understand them, so other languages I don't understand or just non-words are perfectly fine.
Other than that, I'm fine with pretty much all kinds of music.
