I found out the other day that one of my student presenters did a complete 180 this year.

The school she was at last year closed, but before they closed she hardly came to school, didn't really like her English class, and just seemed depressed most of the time. However, she comes to school much more often, has a smile on her face, and have reportedly said that she loves her English class.

That's just another example of realizing I make a difference. You wouldn't know it, but that's some of the coolest stuff to hear as a teacher.

Well, It's official. I'm recording the first one right now.

Fills my heart with happiness knowing that people can be comfortable here without fear of someone shutting them down cause of their big ego

Let’s keep it that way, I would hate to see it devolve even more into a child’s playground :^)

Honestly? Same. It's especially heartwarming because people weren't open about this stuff a few years ago and I'd even say I was partly to blame for that. Funny to see how that turned around. I send my love and support to all my fellow trans folks.
And of course, I want to thanks all the cis users who treat us with respect and don't act like our existence and rights are up for debate. You guys are real Allies and I appreciate you.

Just wondering, are you planning to watch them in Japanese with subtitles or as an English dub?

English dub, probably. I like adding dubs into my watch sessions because it's just one more reason to appreciate an anime I love...or one more reason to justify why I dislike an anime I hate...occasionally it's just to see more facets to a certain show, but it's normally the former scenario(s).

I know the anime is controversial now for a very good reason, but Rurouni Kenshin is my all time favorite anime/manga. I've rewatched it so many times over the last 15 years.

I feel you bro. I know there's the whole separate the art from the artist but sometimes it can be hard and certain limit to one does. Before I found out what Victor Salva had done I enjoyed the Jeepers Creepers movies and now they're really hard to watch knowing what he did regardless of how long it was.

Give the first few arcs a shot. (up to episode 44 or 53) Hopefully that, on its own, isn't too long, and the series only gets better from there. I mainly read the manga, but I was hooked by the events covered in episode 24.

What's more sickening about Salva was the fact the guy literally transferred his sick fantasies into his films which makes it even more hard to watch those. Why that monster is allowed to walk among society (Who should be rotting in jail for the rest of his life) and be free of parole better yet let allowed to continue in the movie industry to begin with I'll never get and what's more infuriating is how he had less time (Year and a half) then someone like Wesley Snipes who was in jail for three years because he couldn't pay his taxes. I can guarantee you that racism was involved in that. Shows how much BS the justice system can really be.

On the one hand I feel like the clarification of some of these forces is kinda...disappointing? Part of what made it interesting to me was how some things were just implied. I know that's a real strange complaint to have of a lore drop but I've got it all the same; a lot of the mystery behind the bigger forces at play in the game kinda went zip and I'm no more connected to most of the world than I already was.

It also doesn't clarify a fair number of things, like the Guide's connection to the Wall of Flesh, who is...somehow a planetary guardian being, of and in hell? Or factions such as the Goblins. Or any boss that's not Skeletor, some bit or another of Cthulhu, or the Moon Lord. Or anything revolving around any event. Or any of the backstories of the NPCs, aside from Dryad (who we could mostly guess), Guide (in passing), Mechanist (kind of makes sense) or the Clothier (that he was cursed was well understood but the reason he was cursed there kinda gets a new layer), who collectively had all the backstory anyway.

Dunno. Just feel like I liked it better when these particular forces of whatever weren't explained in full, like there's some big mysteries left to ponder. Now it just feels like there's a pile of small ones that don't mean much. And it's just a little five-page treatment, very quick and dirty. Feels less like an explanation and more like an assassination.



It could just be me.

Guess what is fair is that it's kinda whet my appetite for Terraria a bit again.

Maybe I'll start up a world and ignore the lore.

Kind of appreciated the explanations for the Crimson and Corruption though, for some reason. Went kinda hard, kinda liked it.

The author behind RK around November 21, 2017 was caught and arrested for possessing child pornography. This shocked alot of RK fans has left the new Hokaido manga on hitaus for seven months. Only to be retuning in June 2018 out of hitaus after the punishment Nobuhiro Watsuki was given was paying a fine of 200,000 yen. Yeah I know this question's already been answered but I might as well give the details.

Hearing about this for the very first time shocked many fans, and personally struck a blow to the heart. RK is my favorite anime for being my gateway to anime as a whole, and introducing me to one of my first role models. For a long time now, I've been struggling to determine if I should still like RK or forget it for the rest of my life. Eventually, the conclusion I did was to "separate the art from the artist". I realize that this may not be the most agreeable thing to do, but RK is way too special for me to ever throw away. I don't expect many here to agree with what I'm saying anyway.

Either way, the controversy is why I don't mention RK much.
