Okay so 3D World being separate from everything else is a lil disappointing and I was lowkey hoping for some kind of overworld editor but holy **** the moon stuff, the car and the ONLINE ****ING MULTIPLAYER look hypppeeeeee

Ok, so MM2 looks great right now.

I do wish that Luigi, Toad, and Toadette were playable in single player, and that water can be applied anywhere, not just the the forest theme.

And the 3D world theme got all the good stuff, but I bet Bros. 3 and World themes are still going to be more popular.

If it wasn't for Three Houses coming the month after MM2, I'd consider it.
Like, the story mode means this is just a Mario game but with a level creator so yeah, ofc it's worth the price.
Only issue I have is that I doubt creating levels will be as intuitive as using the GamePad

Looks fantastic. Only thing I dislike so far is no text boxes, assuming mystery costumes show up later. But my god that car looks sick. 3D world looks sick. The new themes look sick. The new mechanics look like they're going to lead to some very creative levels.
I'm very excited right now.

So what all was revealed in the direct? Anything good?

Espada Gohan de la Super Smash Bros. was finally confirmed in a trailer, but it's actually Artorias who kicked his ass in a fight. The trailer ended with him saying, "Tengo un oportunidad... en otro dia..." before Sakurai confirms that we're getting his Mii Costume alongside a mii outfit based on Builder Luigi.

Also, they announced Smash styles for stage editor, and you can now toggle day and night themes for different backgrounds. They also added a custom scroll feature! Now we can remake Orbital Gate Assault. That was most of the big stuff announced.

Honestky, things like low gravity, floating goombas, etc. ONLY happening with the moon is bad, It restricts ideas. These things should be options, and the moon should be aesthetic.

I know it's super childish and selfish of me to say, especially after all the amazing stuff in the direct, but I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO pissed that they locked so much stuff to the 3D World style! It's so unfair!

Day and Night: It's an interesting concept, but it makes no sense that you have to have an Angry Sun for it to work, until you can remove that feature. I can see that being annoying
Objectives: Interesting feature. Glad we got it. I can't wait to see what unique things we can make with this.

Mysterious Murasame Castle Reference: Wasn't expecting it, but it is welcome.
Toad and Toadette: Their sprites look simply amazing!

I'll be real all I wanted was a port of 1 so the upgrades are awesome. I spent so much time playing and watching the first one when I worked nights, it was the best way to unwind before sleeping in the morning. Great memories and a day one buy.

You could wait on Mario Maker for a little bit and use the voucher when Three Houses is available for Preorder. Thus saving you 20 bucks. That's my plan at least.

I wouldn't say I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO pissed like you, but that really did put a damper on things. I mean, I understand why they had to do it, since otherwise they would've had to turn a ton of things into sprites 3 times over for each retro style, but it still sucks.
