I turn 26 tomorrow.

When I told my students that, one of them said, “26? I thought you were like, at least 40.”

O O F.
Big OOF on that one buddy.

But regardless, Happy Early Birthday!

I need to see Jim Carrey Eggman.

I NEED IT.
I pray that this movie doesn't turn out to be complete garbage.
But I'm not confident in Paramount's ability to not **** this up.

...Although I am on board w/ Jim Carrey Eggman.

You're welcome

No seriously it's a genuine question
Oh. Cool! So RE comes in two flavors. Survival horror and action horror. Think like how Dragonball and Dragonball Z are technically the same franchise, but they're obviously so different that you kind of have to recommend them for different reasons. RE4 and REmake are the best two games to jump in with (besides RE2make which honestly may be the best of both worlds) but they're wholly different experiences.

RE4 is the more easy-to-jump-in-and-enjoy game. It's player-friendly and a bit of a shooting gallery where you consistently move forward and are rewarded for killing things. It's not as much of a thinking game as a sheer enjoyment. And it has ridiculous B-movie charm, memorable cutscenes and scary areas, and an inventory system where you have to choose between buying ammo and weapon upgrades or bigger carrying cases for being able to carry those weapons and ammo. It's the game that more or less spawned the last ten years of third-person over the shoulder shooters.

REmake is the best of old-style Resident Evil with cinematic camera angles, heavy item management and an overall higher difficulty and learning curve because you aren't rewarded for killing things. It's different than your typical gaming experience because of its tank controls, unforgiving style of ammo shortage and limited saves where you can only save your game by finding and using an ink ribbon at a typewriter. Whereas RE4 plays more like a Gears of War style game of churning forward from checkpoint to checkpoint with occasional backtracking, REmake plays more like a Super Metroid where backtracking and finding new things in old areas is the emphasis.

If you want a more unique experience and harder difficulty, get REmake. If you want something that isn't as high of a learning curve and more conventional gameplay, get RE4. But neither requires any previous knowledge of the series to get into. You can jump right in. If you can get RE2make, it bridges the gap between both worlds and is ****ing awesome. I can't recommend it enough right now. But out of REmake or RE4, I'd always recommend REmake simply because it's a more authentic Resident Evil, but that gameplay style isn't everyone's cup of tea. RE4 is basically everyone's cup of tea.

EY, happy birthday, @GothFluttershy!

Oh, also, staindgrey staindgrey , sorry for the ping, but I saw you put your auditions on Casting Call Club, which is awesome! I was wondering if you will still be counting auditions sent throug email?
Yep, we have a whole folder of emailed auditions. Don't you worry. We originally only sent our casting call sparingly to keep it on the downlow, but recently put it up on CCC for one last push.

Should be deciding this weekend, I think.

Also, happy birthday @GothFluttershy and stuff.

EDIT: **** double post.

I remember back when I was the manager at our furniture store, I was 26 at the time. And there was a customer being helped at the front counter while I was struggling to move furniture around. (I'd fallen down the steps at my house and cracked my tailbone but continued to work through it.) My coworker berated me for still moving furniture and asked the customer to back him up, and it turns out that she was a physical therapist. She talked to me for a bit about the dangers of working through obvious pain and this is how that conversation concluded:

Her: "I mean, you have to consider your age. You don't heal as quickly now. I'm gonna guess you're not quite forty yet, or are you?"
Me: "I'm twenty-six."
Her: "Oh!"

Then there was kind of a long silence until my coworker started cackling and walked away.

Whenever I went with my mom to do errands, people confused us for a couple multiple times (which is weird yes, but true). It was a combination of me looking older than my 20's and her looking younger than her 50's...

I'm in such a weird age range...

I'm an adult, so I can't relate to you youngsters, 17 and younger, yet I can't really relate to the people over their mid 20's, here...

The 18 - 21 range is so awkward...

Heh. Awwwwwwkward.

One time I took my younger sister shopping and this pair of boys came up beside her to try hitting on her. The one pointed at me and asked, "Is this your lover?" My sister answered, "Yep! He is!" and put her arm around me for a hug. I had no idea what her endgame was and played along for a bit until the guys went away.

"Why'd you tell them I'm your lover?"
"WHAT? WHEN DID I SAY THAT?"
"He asked if I was your lover."

I'll be like that by the end of this year. I gotta enjoy my pre-adult days with my friends while I can. The problem is, I don't have friends... :urg:

I'm old enough to remember being excited for the BRAND NEW Spongebob Squarepants cartoon, and being distraught that I got grounded on the series premier... :yoshi:
I remember getting the magazine that had Rocket Power and Spongebob on the cover because they were coming soon and wondering "wtf is that sponge cartoon supposed to be."

Thanks, Google images.

I'm gonna be 18 this year.

I'm not ready to be legal.
Move to Britain or Canada or almost anywhere in the EU, and you'll be legal already.

Or any US State where the Age of Consent is 16, for that matter.

Ok. I know there’s much more talented people than me out there, but I’m really hoping to get cast so I’ll audition for some new guys right now. Remind me, who did you say I shouldn’t go for again?

People change a lot when they age...

When I was a little kid I was very energetic and got into a lot of fights with other kids for dumb reasons. I was kind of a fat-ish kid.
Nowadays I'm the least energetic person ever and barely even socialize with others. Now I'm very slender, almost sick looking.

I'm gonna be 18 this year.

I'm not ready to be legal.
Same here. I fear what the future holds for me.

And here I am constantly getting mistaken for a guy due to my body shape not being the standards Hollywood has shaped
