No but seriously, as someone who has very few 3rd party wants and quite a few 1st party wants, it really sucks that the FP is probably gonna be mostly, if not all 3rd party.

And while I'm happy that one of my few 3rd party wants got in, it pretty much leaves me w/ characters who are a coin flip at best.

The rest is just gonna be disappointing for me personally either way...

The good news is that we're under a month from E3, and it's entirely possible that we get a Smash presentation before the main Nintendo presentation. If Erdrick gets announced (which I believe he will), that kills off the Google leak and leaves us back at square one in terms of not knowing who is coming next.

Then again, I also think it's possible that they announce Erdrick to be released the day of the presentation, and then the reveal of Fighter 3 to be released at a later date.

Pulling for Leon or Jill.

I also know next to nothing about Dark Souls, but I would think they'd add the Chosen Undead before a DLC boss.

I still feel like this google leak was made to mess with people who are kinda bummed that Erdrick seems to be the next character. They see this leak that offers them something much better in their eyes, and flock toward it like a bunch of moths to a lamp.

This is getting very close to the Grinch Leak, that it's actually terrifying.

Now all we need is bigger coverage, and prolific people and insiders saying it's fake, causing a massive outcry among the people who want to believe it, then it'd be a perfect match

Well, the only people I've seen discuss it (that wasn't PapaGenos) was Pushdustin (called it fake because "anyone can buy an ad" even though I don't think ads Google ads work that way) and Billy (who said it was fake because of Artorias and the "body horror" stuff

Yeah... not sure I want another Grinch leak scenario. Rather not deal w/ all the **** that comes with that.

Plus I'd probably be on team neutral... again. And just like the Box Theory vs. Grinch Leak, I would either gain very little or absolutely nothing.

Honestly, why do I even bother speculating at this point...

Most of 2019 has been slow.

Outside of the discovery of "Brave" and Joker being shadowdropped, nothing has really happened.

And like I said, I have very few 3rd party character wants, so I'm losing the drive to speculate altogether.

Artorias seems to be important to Dark Souls' lore or something? The player can also "act" as/emulate him or do things he can do after doing something, I think (haven't played Dark Souls), so I guess Sakurai could choose him over Solaire or The Chosen Undead, even if it's still a bit odd. He's also on the Prepare to Die Edition's cover, but I guess that's a given since it includes his DLC.

Artorias has specific ties to bravery, too, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Which is sad. I love that game. My favorite Final Fantasy game. Awesome music, a unique way to do magic, and I love the junction system. ...Though I would also like a remake that make the junction system less complicated too. Story is nice as well, same with the graphics being a huge update from VII which didn't age too well outside of the cutscenes(but hey, one of the first rpg's. Can't easily get a lot down right that early on with a new console, you know?).

What's wrong with Fate? Is it because it was originally pornographic? That trope hardly factored in the overall story though. The Nasuverse is more infamous for its powerlevels, routes, and wacky world-building shenanigans. Reposting/modifying a response of mine from Gamefaqs toward a similar comment:
1. Her VN places very low emphasis on the sex scenes. They're hardly important and it isn't your standard eroge either. In fact, they may as well not even be a thing, and they sure as hell aren't in later spin-offs/re-releases

2. Later games do away with the sex scenes and focus entirely on the world-building and characters, intensifying the flame wars with the latter. If anything, those topics are hotly-debated as opposed to...everything else detractors seem to slam Fate for. Yeah, Type-Moon fans don't talk much about the sexual fan-service as much as they do all else. Shocker, I know

3. We already have games that imply sex off-screen and cover equally raunchy/adult subjects. Arturia shouldn't be excluded just because she's been ****** on-screen at least once. Samus? Ike? Marth? Captain Falcon? Unless Nintendo runs on the Magic Stork fantasy, all of these characters participated/came about through sexual contraception at some point

4. If not for the concept of sex itself, practically no Fire Emblem character, nor Samus, nor Shulk, nor Snake, nor even the Belmonts would exist. It's natural, like food, water, and oxygen. Dunno why this hentai Boogieman prevents her from being a viable candidate. If anything, Arturia is incredibly modest by design standards. Personally, I favor Arcueid more, but Arturia's the most realizable choice given the Fate franchise's current success

5. Kids are more likely to run into R34 of her, and of other characters already in Smash, than the VN sex scenes themselves. In fact, you might even call Kinoko "The Nasu-talgic Critic", because he writes the porn so you don't have to!
*Gets booed loudly and pelted with tomatoes*

6. We're getting Joker, who comes from the same franchise that has penis demons (as in Mara is only one of many). Obviously, those won't crop up in Smash, but if Arturia's in, neither would any references to the "mana exchanges" (nor the worm stuff...)

7. Nintendo hired some hentai artists to design several of the Xenoblade 2 characters, and the game is doing just fine outside of SJWs and people with a hate-boner toward anything anime-esque. Smash also has some of those aesthetics in the game already, and a fair number of Spirits used were designed by hentai artists as well

In fact, I have looked up Yoshi images to humor Zinith with certain photoshopped posts of the stylistic suck variety, and without even trying, I get at least a handful of unfavorable fanart right off the bat. All I'm saying is: The forbidden fruit is veeeery easy to find for just about anything, really. Fate isn't special in that regard just because the content based on that idea is official.

Bayonetta was not just in Playboy but sponsored by Nintendo for it. I doubt this is going to seriously be a factor at all. Especially when Bayo gets nude during her official in-game attacks.

If there's going to be reasons, it's going to be something a bit more tangible like moveset potential, having issues with getting the licensing, it never came up, or they had choices they were more interested in.
