BTW, staindgrey staindgrey , were my auditions any good? Your channel looks awesome and I’d love to work with you guys.
My brother's in charge of that project, and he'll be getting back to everyone after the deadline. We've got a ton of auditions and I honestly can't remember which one's which at this point lol.

Wow, I’m meeting a celebrity!
Seriously, I’m surprised by the production value.
Ha, we have 3200 subs. Hardly celebrity. But thank you. Keeping the production value high takes a lot of effort and about $300 per episode for recording. I can't wait until we can start generating money so I can get our own studio and stop spending cash every time we need to record.

TBH I'm ok with clone discussion as long as we don't go back to the dark days of "Dark Pit and Lucina stole Isaac/Geno/other big request's slot"

Crap.
How do you manage to keep that up?
That’s a ton of cash. $$$

meh

my voice is too monotone for voice acting
My voice is really monotone, and I do it. Ya just gotta portray emotion.

3200?! Dang, haha. I want that much. Thing is I need to work on getting publicity.

I'll describe it, but I won't link it. Anyways, it's like SuperMarIoLogan, but (slightly) less cringey. Most of the episodes deal with one of the characters having to deal with some sort of stupid plot. A few brilliant examples of episodes are...

Luigi deals with a Pokemon infestation in his house
Cooking with Garfield. Episode 1 - Hot Pockets

As you can see, hardly perfect. And these are the more recent videos. The older ones were almost in pitch black. There are also generic gameplay videos.
I see...Interesting!

Although I did start a channel, I’d probably use text-to-speech or some sort of voice modifier. You’ll just have to imagine me speaking, and I honestly have no idea what you people think I sound like.

Honestly? It's important to me and I save up. If you watch our very first video, it was our #TIBA contest submission and it was recorded in our mother's basement on a friend's microphone. I thought we had something good and didn't want anything less than top quality recording, so we took a year off while I worked extra hours and put it all away in a separate savings account. We actually had to take a break between ep.5 and ep.6 because I had to move and those unexpected expenses kept me from being able to pay for recordings.

Essentially, if you want something bad enough, you make it work.

I like it! And the 3200 is only recent. Just a month and a half ago we broke 2000, and it was six months before that that we hit 1000. You have to wait for word of mouth to spread and Youtube to start actually putting you into people's feeds.

I just imagine your posts in Sigma's voice, to be honest.

For some reason I hear everything you say in an anime villain voice

Yeah, mine hasn't gotten to that point of getting in people feeds.
I have been wanting to get some collabs going, but the only other Smash youtubers here are Papagenos and pizzadudemanguy.
I actually asked pizzadudemanguy, but he declined, so that kinda sucks. Maybe I could do one with Papagenos if I asked. He actually knows about my channel, and when I first got it started I went to him for some advice.

Question: What makes a good voice actor?
Oh God that's a loaded question. From my limited experience:

> Take direction. There is nothing at all more aggravating than an actor who isn't processing what the director is asking for.
> Practice. Practice practice practice practice. Learn to be that voice in casual conversation. Read the script multiple times. Record yourself and listen back repeatedly until you know you have the voice.
> Be animated. Don't just read your line. You have to act it out. Your body language affects your voice more than you think, so don't be afraid to move and pose and everything you would if you were stage acting.
> If you're trying to get cast online rather than in-person, get a good mic setup. A lot of times a bad mic ruins an audition before it even starts. If you're serious, get some sort of padded space and a decent microphone.
> Don't be afraid of raising your voice. Seriously. Half the time I have to tell my actor something it's "louder". Project your voice so the editor doesn't have to fix the **** out of it in post.
> Lastly, if you want to learn to do multiple voices, take classes. There are things you can do with your mouth, chest, throat and head to physically force your voice to sound different, and it'll open up lots of routes for you if you have variance. If you only have one voice, it better be a damn good voice. (Like Steve Blum.)
Scott McNeil can do several voices and you can hardly tell they're made by the same person...
Scott McNeil is a ****ing god and finding a Duo to even somewhat match his style was hard as ****.

Actually wait this one is him in-person doing the infamous Duo "no".

When you spend soo much time in an echo chamber, everything seems more likely than it is.

The Smash community has a terrible, terrible habit or regurgitating the same ten or so characters over and over again, and anything outside of those are deemed 'not likely' by the fanbase at large.

Like, I still see people say, "Would Sakurai really go to Microsoft for Minecraft Steve of all things over Banjo?" or that "X character has no ties to Nintendo so they can't be in."

As much as I love Banjo for instance, I'm also not going to throw someone like Steve under the bus just because the community as a whole wants him more.
To piggyback off of this, I think Steve is ironically a character that the echo chamber thinks is a lock, simply because it’s a legacy character they identify with.

Minecraft being a big name series does not change the fact that it’s owned by Microsoft. Yes, Microsoft or at least Phil Spencer has seemed “buddy buddy” with Nintendo, but it’s PR talk. No matter what anyone says, Microsoft is a competing company, not similar to companies like Konami or Capcom who are not hardware makers.

Could Steve happen? Absolutely. The main reason he’s in discussions is because he was suggested by a leaker, and is still showing up in rumors. He’s, for whatever reason, still considered likely despite backtracking and contradictions from other sources.

Again, he could get in, and the only thing that would stand out is his...hideous design. Otherwise he could fit. I simply think people overestimate him substantially, and then underrate series that have effectively paved the way for other genres of gaming, and not to beat a dead horse, but like Resident Evil.

Capcom series, like Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil are at times considered off the table by some because we have “3 Capcom reps”. This is where we get into “speculah” territory, because it’s a made up term and made up rule that a legacy series like any of those couldn’t get in because “Capcom has too much”.

Sure, Smash isn’t Nintendo vs. Capcom, but it’s shaping itself up to be a game where the biggest and greatest landmark gaming series come together, show off how unique they are, and mash some never before seen crossovers together.

There’s also the fact that many ignore the fact that negotiations could be far easier for companies in Japan, which is where every single 3rd party has come from. It’s not impossible for a Western 3rd party to get in, but I think it’s only based on comments by Bethesda and Microsoft being Microsoft.

Now that I think about it, and I realize this is turning into a wall of text, I think this is enough for me to call the rumors bs now. The only two characters that have been specifically publicly acknowledged outside of rumors and leaks were a Bethesda pick (because of the Smash comment) and then the Steve blowup with Verg and Hitagi. They’re not entirely original rumors.

Eh, my comment spitballed. Sorry if I got off track, but basically you’re right about the echo chamber.

What kind of voice do y'all expect from me then?
My own voice since I haven't been here long enough to make a unique voice for you or really anyone.

edit: I mean I read your posts in my voice I didn't really read it well enough, what I expect is I don't expect anything
