I have been using Java since forever, but Bedrock looks cooler. Which side is better?

I prefer Bedrock but can also play Java.

Maybe someday we could have a Bedrock edition game night? I'd be willing to host (but not tonight).

Java. It's classic and more people have it. Plus, bedrock has some payed stuff, I think.

To be fair, the paid stuff for Bedrock is 100% optional.

Plus, Bedrock allows any of its platforms to play together. (Not saying Java doesn't, but its a selling point on Bedrock)

I have Java edition, and I'm not paying $30 for a game that I already own on the same system. The differences between Bedrock and Java are so minimal, and Java is more customizable than Bedrock, so it'd actually be a waste of $30 for me to get Bedrock.
