I like the Yoshi's Island DS fortress music. It's both calm and just a wee bit unsettling. But it also meshes well with the lighthearted tone the Yoshi games have.

Unlike something like "Donkey Kong Country" or "WarioWare", the Yoshi series is directly related to the Mario series, and they share several common elements.

It is pretty funny that casuals will go like "oh, an AT. Nice!", while hardcore fans like us will go "AN AT? NOO, MY CHARACTER!!!".

The first Yoshi game was LITERALLY called "Super Mario World 2". Not to mention, there are a plethora of Mario references in Wolly/Crafted World, and Mario himself appears in New island.

The only reason DK (and his supporting cast sometimes) appear in Mario games is for homage to the OG DK. You can have the Mario series seperate from DKC and vice-versa, meanwhile you cant have Yoshi without Mario (or at least Mario elements) since they're linked.

Also, Link has been directly referenced in DKC more than once.
