As I said Banjo is great.

I haven't played Granblue consistently or a whole lot to really get a feel for what Character would be chosen but it's fine.

I like it and I would buy it but it's still not my kind of thing.

BWD is a character I liked in SSF2 so he'd be cool. Plus a lot of people like the character from what I see.

Elma has a sick design and an awesome moveset pool to pull inspiration from. Dual Gunblades is hype and hype I would be for her inclusion.

Banjo is a dream come true for people like me that grew up playing Rare games and/or grew up in the late-90's/early-00's. Pretty plz Samurai.

Hard pass on Granblue Fantasy no offense.

Firstly, I agree with your last point. One should be prepared for a character to be added, but not certain that it'll happen.

Now, leakers are believed because they have in the past proven they have valid info. When they claim something with that record, people will believe. In speculation, there's nothing more coveted than concrete evidence or facts. Without these, there's only guesswork and assumptions. Leakers give us a semblance of fact to work from, so they can have real sway on speculation. There's nought one can do about it.

Also, leakers don't "randomly" bring up characters. They mention characters when they hear from their sources that such a character might be in. It's a bit pedantic to mention, but I'd like to be clear here. Erdrick has people behind the scenes corroborating the notion that he's in.

I can understand why people would believe leaks for the reasons you gave me. I guess I'm just annoyed that so many people are treating Erdrick like a lock. Not only is that not a good mindset for people to have, but it just makes them look super arrogant. I've had to argue with Erdrick fans on other sites who were talking down to me because I like Geno better and they had to make sure I knew that Erdrick was getting in, and not him. I wouldn't mind if people thought Erdrick had a big chance, but a lot of the times his chances are sorta blown out of proportion in my opinion.

I'll feel sad about not having Erdrick but Bandana Dee and Banjo more than make up for it.

I legitimately know nothing about Xenoblade Chroniclese X, nor do I care about it, and the same applies to Granblue Fantasy. Might check them out if they look cool in Smash but otherwise? Well I'd get Banjo so any other character can rot in Hell for all I care. I'd buy the whole season regardless

another thing to keep in mind is, some companies are NOTORIOUS to feeding leakers false info to rat them out. Namco does it, apparently Square does too. For all we know, all these leakers might - might - have been baited with Erdrick when a different character is the real one.

Honestly would only get Joker and Elma. Hard pass on the other 3 (no attachment to Granblue whatsoever and the other 2 are a bit meh for me)

There are quite a few, I could see Jill/Claire, Amateratsu, Lara Croft, Dr. Coyle, Velvet from Tales, off the top of my head considering the current 3rd parties already in the game. You can add a few more outside of them.

Erdrick I don't care about nor Dragon Quest and the composer for that game is a massive butthole. That being said I recognize how huge it is in Japan so i'm indifferent.

Dixie is someone better suited as an Echo IMO but I would be fine.

Honestly, I just put Gran/Djeeta down b/c they're the characters that make the most sense to get in from Granblue.

I've prefer several other Granblue characters to get in based on moveset potential/personal bias; and while Katalina is one of them she's not the main one.
