They've correctly leaked the days of Nintendo Directs in the past.

It's not 100%, but it's definitely something to take into account.

Hmm. Interesting. Well since they've been known to also be wrong on the occasion, I'll just hold off on hype.

I don't expect Smash stuff to be in the direct since it will probably get it's own direct on the 25th, you know because of the whole Jane thing. That said though. Since it's the 30th anniversary of MOTHER and the 13th Anniversary of Mother 3 is April 20th, hoping it happens. Also more Tales ports too. Especially if it's any of the unlocalized titles that will finally be released. Mainly Destiny 2, Destiny R DC, or Rebirth.

I agree. I remember how they once used a Nintendo direct to announce a Smash Bros direct during Smash 4's hype cycle. There's roughly enough content for a short direct.

If we're talking dream DLC lineups I guess it's time to shill mine (Fighters Pack is bolded, Astral Chain Twins and Sora are bundled together for 1.5x the price of both characters):

1. Piranha Plant
2. Joker
3. Erdrick
4. Tales of rep
   1. Lloyd Irving would be my first choice since dual wielding swords haven't really been done in Smash aside from some moves in Pit/Dark Pit's moveset
   2. Velvet Crowe is my next choice since she could have a very interesting moveset involving Break Soul
   3. Yuri Lowell is also worth mentioning since he's the most popular central protagonist of a Tales of game
   4. But Luke fon Fabre is my actual choice because Tales of the Abyss is my favorite Tales of game. Shame it's not going to happen though...

7. Astral Chain Twins (Bonus "promotional" character inclusion to rep a new Nintendo IP)

Well. I wont rest until we get confirmation (or disconfirmation) of a newcomer one way or another. If a direct is happening that early, they could use it to announce a Smash Bros direct later in the month... Or make us wait until E3. I'll cross that road when I get there.

Ideal picks, you say?

1. Joker (Persona 5): Of course. You'll never see it coming. Probably my best non-Nintendo game I've played in 2017.
2. Erdrick (Dragon Quest III): The other classic JRPG series alongside Final Fantasy. Gotta find a way to sell that pass in Japan. That and it is still surprising that Dragon Quest still hasn't made it in, given the impact the series had on the Japanese gaming industry as a whole. Might give me an excuse to purchase DQXI S when it comes out.
3. 2B (NieR: Automata): Automata was the second best non-Nintendo game I played in 2017. Put Link, Joker, and 2B in the same room and you have completed the trio of Japan's biggest games of 2017 (barring Mario).
4. Banjo-Kazooie (Banjo-Kazooie): A classic retro pick and becoming increasingly probable, especially since Microsoft is recently getting cozy with Nintendo.
5. Kat (Gravity Rush): Not sure about Sony, but I think if Sakurai has a chance to work with Sony, he would go for it. I am of the mind that "Gravity Rush" is the most "Nintendo-y" game that Sony has produced. Wouldn't be surprised if the game has its share of fans within Nintendo's departments and higher ups.
6. Solaire (Dark Souls) or any FromSoftware character: I am a big Souls fan. Give me one.


As for GamingINTEL, they claimed that there would be both a Smash Direct and a general Direct for November 2018, a direct in January 2019, and a Persona 5 Switch announcement for March. Take that as you will.

A 4chan "leak" had the perfect Mother 3 reveal idea.

Reggie concludes his final Nintendo Direct and the screen fades to black. Doug Bowser is heard, saying "Is he gone? Okay, get the lights back on." We see Doug Bowser saying "Now that he's gone, we can finally do this. We know how long you've been waiting, and thank you for your patience."

I wish we could, but you know how Rare is I'm assuming... At least Chris Seavor is working on a spiritual successor to Conker. Honestly, if Rare did make a new game, I'm not sure how successful it'd be... Bad Fur Day just seems like a game of its time, though I would be very interested if Rare actually did announce something. Glad to see more Conker fans out there.

I don't normally produce wishlists, mainly because I'm not that truly invested in the outcome of Smash inclusions. But I feel like joining in today.

-Any Legend of Zelda character. I honestly don't really care who it might be at this point (17 years without a truly unique newcomer), but Midna, Ghirahim, Ganon, and Vaati would all be incredible.

-Any Xenoblade character. Again, It's not super important to me. I like the casts of all 3 games, so no big loss. Elma, Morag+Brighid, Zeke+Pandoria, Lora+Jin, or Rex+Pyra/Mythra all sound like a dream to me.

-Banjo and Kazooie.

-Edea Lee. Although, any Bravely character would be great. I'm not exactly keen on Magnolia though.

-Walugi.

-Anna, from Fire Emblem.

They aren't the most reliable. Only PolarPanda, Tansut, and King Zell seem to be the insiders that seem to be consistent (especially with Zell getting everything correct so far).
