That's the point I was making.I would agree unless the writer is trying to condone something bad.
That said, depictions of bad things don't always correlate with what the writer does. Stuff can be depicted as a way to condemn or educate about it.
Then there's ignorance from the writer's part but I wouldn't equate that with intolerance. Some people just need to learn.
A villain deadnaming a Trans character does not in any way mean the writer condones the practice.
And I imagine accidental dead-naming happens a lot shortly after a Trans person comes out.
