I'm sorry but I really wouldn't want to have non video game characters in Smash cause it would take away the element of it being a video game crossover fighting game for me not to mention it would be one step closer to for a certain group of people to start asking for my most hated thing in media history which might make me snap.

Really, the hardest part is whether they'd be okay with no Disney Animation content in or not. Not licensing Sora and other KH content. That's not an issue at all. Especially since how he's represented is given to Square-Enix most of the time, and they already have experience helping with Smash, so it's likely that will be the case.

To be fair, My Little Pony is also a cultural phenomenon. Frankly, those are major enough to be legitimate requests for Smash, regardless of likeliness. Not that I think they really would fit well either. But at least the votes make sense.

The only thing I had against bronies is that they had a tendency to take over the cons I was part of back in the day.
It's nowhere near as bad now, and the interest itself is pretty much harmless. I still don't like the show though.

Ironically enough, oftentimes the difficulty comes from trying to use their own stuff in their own games.

I remember hearing stories about how it was like pulling teeth with corporate to get Kingdom Hearts content into Disney Infinity.

It just means that Bandai Namco is doing a big push to get Dragon Quest rights, it’s like a package deal. Buy one anime swordboy and get another half-off!

Doesn’t matter. Disney owns the ip rights to Sora and co. The only thing Square owns of the direct Final Fantasy elements. So if Disney isn’t willing to play ball, no Sora for you.

That had nothing to do with anything I said.

Disney is willing to play ball easily. What they prefer to do is leave Square-Enix to actually helping with implementing the character. Implementing the character is just them helping Sakurai. Disney's only other thing is whether they allow Sora to be in with no Disney Animation content whatsoever. That's still up to Disney alone. Once that's over with, they don't really care that much since they allow SE to do their thing, as they know how to make him work well in other projects.
