I only ever doubted Ridley and K. Rool out of the desire to not get my hopes up for Metroid and DK content (which was a big deal to me in Ultimate's pre release). I think the fact Verge leaked him is what made me more chill on Ridley. As soon as Snake appeared on-screen, my mind immediately went "OK yup Ridley time", lol.

I feel like Samus in Samus Returns looks a lot better in gameplay than in the artwork.

The artwork makes her shoulders look ****in jacked. Looks a lot sleeker in game

This one was just a text leak for (supposedly) what the translation team had to dub over for the next Direct from Sakurai.

Just to bullet point it, it was for an April 3rd Direct (again, allegedly) that discussed the following:

-Talking about Version 3.0.0 update & release (revealed to be April 12th)
-Stage builder returning (new backgrounds available, new styles, etc)
-Home Run contest returning (with ability to use items other than the Baseball bat)
-Ability to use/set up Spirit Teams for use in Home Run Contest
-New Spirits to be added (based on games that released more recently like Yoshi's Crafted World, Bowser's Inside Story re-release game, etc)
-Changes/Tweaks to different fighters to improve their flow of moves
-Joker gameplay reveal (shows his Persona involves a 'charge' meter so he fights simultaneous to you)*
-Mementos Stage reveal & it being atop Morgana (Bus form)
-Persona spirits to be added along with 17 tracks
-No Teaser for next DLC character

*This part was what tore me the most. While the description of his moves seemed accurate, such as describing his recovery as poor but being able to 'bounce of opponents heads easily (sounding exactly like FalconDorf's up Special) and his Neutral & Side Specials seeming legit, how Joker supposedly makes use of Arsene is what gave me pause. While trying to turn it into a gimmick sounds like something Sakurai would do to make Joker 'unique' (since you build a charge meter at the bottom so that Arsene can fight along with Joker simultaneously), it doesn't sound like how the game works with Personas. Granted, 'Limit Break' doesn't work that way with Cloud in FF, but this just seemed like a needless meter, so that's what made me doubt this.

Everything else, though; from the wording used in Sakurai's supposed speech to this, down to other subtle details (reveal of different features coming, why they weren't in the base game, and the lack of a DLC reveal) feel like something Nintendo would do.

I didn't discover Vergeben till after K. Rool so I had a wild ride up until that.

K. Rool was a big surprise for me because at least Sakurai acknowledged Ridley with him actually being in the game. Back in Smash 4, K. Rool was just skinned alive and made into a children's Halloween costume. It was horrible.



Though, Custom Robo still being acknowledged gives me hope that Ray MK III will be in the next Smash game hopefully. The Custom Robo support thread has an interesting theory behind the developers of the series.

I’m still salty that Ray MK’s assist trophy didn’t come back despite them getting the rights for his costume and spirits

If you ask me, I was glad to see the suit back in Ultimate too even with K.Rool in.

I had some fun with it.

I called the “OMG ANIMAL CROSSING!! Wait Isabelle! WAIT ANIMAL CROSSING!!” reveal. I think I said before the direct I was expecting a joint Animal Crossing-Isabelle reveal (to the point of saying to my friend “they’re going to make us think it’s AC, then show Isabelle in Smash, then when we think it’s over they’re going to show AC for real”). I was pretty excited for her just because I 100% predicted her reveal.

Completely off-topic, but for phone users - are any of your browsers seriously glitching out when you press the “notifications” button here? It sends me to a scam website (and telling me that I have Verizon even though I have AT&T), and then sending me down to the response place and opening a keyboard... in the tab select area. Then, when I close that and go back into this tab, it’s SUPER zoomed in.

Anyone else having this problem, or is it just my phone?

I have it, but it only happens at rare moments when checking the What's new page instead.

the mcu heroes (besides peter) have killed plenty of people throughout the movies

Feels like something Nintendo would do, but that's not evidence on its own. No teaser for our next newcomer is what kills it for me, honestly. No way they're not showing something at the end of the direct when it's been four months since Joker's reveal. They gotta keep our interest somehow.

I'll try to find it again.

I was waiting for my dinner a few days ago at a Mexican place and just searched 'Joker Smash leak' with a 'sort by last 24 hrs' limiter and found it on my phone lol. I kept the leak on a separate pg on my phone so I wouldn't lose it.


This is going to take a little bit...give me a few minutes to get it from my phone to here lol.

Worse in my opinion was them removing the Advance Wars assist trophy, which was in Smash 4. Way to really kill off the series with that. Least Isaac made it back.

I know; as soon as I saw that original direct, when he said 'Before the End of April', my first thought was 'Ok, then like, the literal day before the end of April then'.

There are a few things that make me doubt it; it's just the way its worded and how iffy I'd feel about the character himself that makes me believe it. Its often the more disappointing leaks that end up being true (case in point being KenCineroar leak Vs Grinch).
