It looks like it takes elements from both his older design and current design.

Modern design’s shell saddle and rounder scales on his head with the old design’s tiny t-rex arms, which also have hands with fingers instead of paws.

It actually looks pretty good. Like, it does a good job at adapting Yoshi’s anatomy into a “realistic” environment to the point where I could believe that it might conceivably exist somewhere out in the greater galaxy.
