I refuse to believe this could happen :V
I mean, he had to at one point. I imagine he asked himself one day, "Why do I destroy things? Was I born this way? Or does the world deserve this? Or am I born because the world is inherently evil?"

Either that, or he was always a good boi until a certain someone confronted him one day in the same manner he comforts Jin.

Jeez 2019 is packing full of incredible games.
Sekiro, REmake 2, DMC 5, KH3, Super Mario Maker 2, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and now Shantae 5. And E3 isn't even here yet.
And movies.

Godzilla 2, Hobbs & Shaw, Missing Link, Avengers: Endgame, Brightburn, Us, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Hellboy, Ad Astra, It: Chapter Two, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home.

I can safely say this will no doubt be much better year then the last one.

Any of those tunes you think belong in Smash or any other tunes you not on this list?
Aha I actually have a lot. My main ones I think should get in are as follows; Mind of a Thief, F-F-Fire!, Ragtime Osohe, Beware the Forest's Mushrooms, Battle against an Armed Boss, Spiral Mountain, Venus Lighthouse, Masked Dedede and Body Rock.

Mind of a Thief: It's such a calming song and so, so fantastic that when I first heard it it instantly became one of my favorite Songs in Mother 3, Now it's one of my favorite songs in General! I think it should totally get in Smash.

F-F-Fire!: Read above except it's super energetic and hype that I think it would make for an amazing song in Smash.

Ragtime Osohe: This and the previous two are my three favorite songs in Mother 3 and I think all three should be in Smash. Ragtime Osohe is such a fantastic song I think with a Remix it would be amazing in Smash.

Beware the Forest's Mushrooms & Battle against an Armed Boss: Geno is my most wanted and those two songs are fantastic. All I really have to say honestly, If Geno made it in those two are must haves.

Spiral Mountain: Same as the previous two except for Banjo. Spiral Mountain is such an Iconic Banjo song that I think it should get in if Banjo got in.

Venus Lighthouse: Even though Isaac didn't get in as playable he did return as an Assist Trophy and got a revamp at that so I think they should've added at least one new Golden Sun Song which is of course Venus Lighthouse! That song is so hype and would fit perfectly within Smash.

Masked Dedede: Dedede is my main so I would've loved to get his better theme in Smash so I could fight against people while the song plays. It is such a great song and one that would totally fit within Smash.

Body Rock: This one is one I've been wanting since the very beginning, I think it's glorious and such an amazing song. I was sure Wario would get some kind of new track and I really hoped it was this one, Obviously he didn't get anything but I still wish it would've been added.

Yeah, I was wrong about Sekiro. I want it.
Sekiro is currently the best game I've played so far this year. Combat may be difficult and plays nothing like Soulsborne, but it is very rewarding (as usual with FromSoft) and Miyazaki and From's long-time design philosophy that has shaped Soulsborne remains intact in Sekiro. It's arguably the hardest FromSoft game, but your mileage may vary. Have you played any past FromSoft games?

Choose one.
I'm fully aware that KH3 has it's faults. But I still believe it delivered on some of it's aspects which is why I think it's a great game. Is it the best of this year? Absolutely not, but it's still a fun game that got released in this year.

Never heard of that game. What's its dealio?
OH BOY I GET TO RANT!

So Arc Rise Fantasia is a JRPG on the Wii.

It's a big mixed bag.

The plot is formulaic and weeby (but nothing awful) but the majority of the cast is unlikable. I can think of only four characters whom I loved by the end of the story. Lovable Coward (Best character), old man, token loli and evil emperor? are fun. The rest are blegh or meh.

The writing is... awful. You have a main protagonist state that he doesn't believe in the existence of these magical beings, when he has at minimum, two of them under his control at that time. This is on top of him being borderline cruel for the sake of being edgy. The main girl is an absolute dumbass (like, think of a purposely naive girl and make her actually dumb) and the villains are ludicrously petty. Basically, the two main villains start off as playable characters. One is the main protagonist's best friend and the other is in love with the protagonist. The friend loves the girl who loves the protagonist. An event happens and the girl wants revenge for the protagonist for not loving her and the friend is so whipped he'll do whatever the girl says regardless of his own thoughts on the action. They start killing people and are preparing to destroy the world. Am I glossing over a lot? Yeah, but that's the main motivation for those two. Rejection and being a "nice guy."

I don't like them which is a shame cause they started out pretty okay.

The voice acting is also utterly horrendous, but its so awful I start to love it. This is some of the worst I've seen, but in the best way.

On the flip side though, the gameplay is really fun and has a very unique equipment mechanic that I wish other RPGs used. Basically, no weapon actually enhances your stats, but all weapons give you bonuses. If you use the weapon enough, you'll learn one bonus from that weapon permanently and the skill is put in your skill set. It's pretty neat and lets you customize all sorts of builds. The main battles are actually pretty challenging too. It uses an AP system and its well done.. There is a metric **** ton of bull**** though (**** one boss in particular). Bosses are uber hard and the game is a little grind heavy. To give you an idea, I beat the final boss on my first try.

BUT IT TOOK FOUR HOURS!

Music though. It's great. I listen to it all the time.
Check this out.

Tldr:

The game is really fun to play and I had a good time with it.
Just don't try to think too hard about it or you'll have a stroke.

7.5/10 if I'm generous.

6/10 if I'm not.

Some pretty nice choices you have there. Something I like to do with my song choices is think about what stages they’d fit best on. For your choices I can definitely see Mind of a Thief on Onett, as well as F-F-Fire! on New Pork, Ragtime Osohe on Fourside, Body Rock on WarioWare Inc. and ones that would be part of new games/series would be on their own stages. Maybe Masked Dedede could be on Halberd or Fountain of Dreams, (I guess Boxing Ring too but doesn’t count since it’s not a Kirby stage), I’m not entirely sure what do you think?

All of them. Actually.

Honestly, the whole setting of the game initially disappointed me, and it still does after Bloodborne nailing Lovecraftian Horror Fantasy, and the fact that I played Nioh to 100% completion made me feel like the trip to historical Japan didn't fill a hole that other games couldn't fill like the Souls games did. That's where I drew the line and was like, yeah I'll stick with Nioh, but seeing the game in action while watchin Maximilian has changed my mind.

I am still disappointed they didn't go with a setting that is wholly unique, I feel like a setting based off of the abstract creatures in Salvador Dali's paintings could be super inspired, but overall it's still a From game and they make damn good games and I'm sure I'll love it.

Since we're on the topic of games that were really good from this year... I'm going to flip the switch a bit. I recently finished Kingdom Hearts 3. Now I was never over the moon with the other KH games, they were fun just not the most well done (all the worlds were very lifeless), but Kingdom Hearts 3 is just... so disappointing. Like, all the worlds I was looking forward to visiting just followed a set path that I had already seen in the movie and only diverged a bit and then they were over. I dunno. I wasn't impressed. I know people love the game for being a Disney RPG that transcends the tie in curse but this game really didn't give me an experience I cared about and I feel like I can wholly blame that on the story. The things abysmal.

That's Kingdom Heats in general.

Pull the trigger on it, it's an excellent game. Getting used to the new mechanics takes a little bit but after that it's a joy to play. It's very rare nowadays that a game comes out and I no-life the **** out of it, I'm already close to finishing a second playthrough and still need to do a 3rd and 4th for every ending.

I personally found it a lot easier than past FromSoft games. It's still pretty goddamn hard, but after Lady Butterfly I went through the game with very minimal deaths compared to my first playthroughs of the other ones. Even though it's a much further departure from the Souls formula than Bloodborne was, it still has many of the same building blocks, and legacy skill does feel like it transfers over somewhat.

For my picks I think;

Mind of a thief = Onett/Fourside

F-F-Fire! = New Pork City

Ragtime Osohe = Magicant/Fourside

Beware The Forest's Mushrooms = Mario Galaxy

Battle against an Armed Boss = Mushroom Kingdom U

Spiral Mountain = None, Banjo would need to get in and have a stage before Spiral Mountain would get in.

Venus Lighthouse = Either 1) Misc. Stages like the rest of the Golden Sun tracks appear in or 2) It would need Isaac to be playable first and for him to get a stage

Masked Dedede = Fountain Of Dreams

Body Rock = Wario Ware Inc.

I don't feel like this matters much though since they organize it by franchise now so like Beware the Forest's Mushrooms would appear on any Mario Stage same as Masked Dedede appearing on any Kirby Stage.

Assuming Geno doesn’t get a Forest Maze stage, then I could see those working. Also I do think the Venus Lighthouse location would work for a Golden Sun stage.

Bloodborne is still the perfect Souls game in my opinion. Perfect setting, lovecraftian lore is deep and translating that is difficult and yet they nailed it. Stripped down the use of Magic instead focusing on firearms and other tools. Put less focus on the equipment and armor system, basing your entire playthrough on your own skill and balanced the game in a way that it gets progressively harder but never overwhelming. And the story, as abstract as it is, and the ending to that game hit me harder than a game that has such little dialogue ever should.

That's not even mentioning the amount of lore that went into the game, the perfect implementation and mastery of the Souls Games' labrynthian open world, the offsetting choices that you can make that determine what can happen to the people you choose to save or kill that effect more than receiving a certain item, and the subtle context of the purity and innocence of infancy and adolescence that runs throughout the entire game. Bloodborne is a ****ing masterpiece, man. An instant classic.

My Idea for a Geno stage would be a travelling one visiting the Iconic and Unique locations only Super Mario RPG has like Tadpole Pond, their Mushroom Kingdom interpretation, Bowser's Keep with Exor as a Hazard or Background element, Star Hill, Monstro Town and of course Forest Maze.

If that's too much just visit Bowser's Keep, Forest Maze and Tadpole Pond.

For Isaac's Stage I feel like it could be either Venus Lighthouse or the starting location in the original Golden Sun which I can't think of the name right now.

I ****in love Bloodborne, I easily have hundreds of hours in it. I'm a sucker for cosmic/lovecraftian horror and Bloodborne is almost perfect when it comes to it's worldbuilding and storytelling. Doesn't hurt that the gameplay is absolutely rock-solid.
Again, I like Sekiro a lot, but at this point the only thing that will ever unseat Bloodborne for me is Bloodborne 2.

The blood moon rising towards the climax of the game and illuminating the once gothically dark world with an unsettling red light while the horror that awaits is symbolized above you at all times is a moment I will never forget in gaming. This after taking on one of the hardest bosses in the game within the stunning Dark Link Room inspired battlefield is just jaw dropping. I can go on and on about Bloodborne, it's subtext, it's world, it's lore, it's characterization of the hunters and citizens, and it's deeper meaning present in each individual boss but for now I'll leave it at what I've already said.

Bloodborne is an experience. Not just a game.

I know that Dark Souls was my first but I'm glad the series is over. If it means we're getting fresh takes on the formula Demon's Souls built in new worlds like has been shown in Bloodborne and Sekiro then I'm all for Dark Souls ending.

Bloodborne is no doubt FromSoftware's magnum opus and for me, the one game you should get if you buy a Playstation 4. In regards to upcoming Soulsborne titles, I am interested in seeing how Code Vein plays out.

Literally took one trailer to convince me to buy a PS4.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Code Vein in the same way I was with Nioh. There's a fine line to walk when making a Soulsborne inspired game that I'm not sure Code Vein can do. I had faith in Nioh becaus it was Team Ninja and they can nail insane difficulty that's also fair with their development of the Ninja Gaiden games. I know nothing about the team behind this title though, and the anime influences being melded with obvious Dark Souls imagery doesn't really sit well with me. Of course we'll see as I've found I've gotten more critical of games as of late, blame it on being constantly broke, but I hope they can legit pull it off well. More good Soulsborne games can never hurt.

My list goes.
Bloodborne > Nioh > Dark Souls > Dark Souls 3 > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls 2 so far.

Well I made one of those Anime pfp things just to test it out and I'm only gonna have it for a day just to see what it's like.

I'm off to bed now. Good night everyone!

The Sol Sanctum? So how would you travel from place to place in that stage? Would it be like Delfino Plaza/Skyloft or maybe Castle Siege?

Hmm.. I was thinking more like the village place but that could work too, I was talking about Vale the village Isaac grew up in but the Sol Sanctum would be more interesting.

Yikes, I’m glad you’re ok after that. I thought you were just going for like a yandere look or something.
Yeah it was kind of serious but I'm fine now, I tried to make the profile picture as close to how I look as possible without using an actual picture of me which is why I added that.

And for the grey shading on my profile pic it's cause everyone always says that I look tired all of the time and that's the best way I could represent that, Which admittedly I am.
