To my knowledge Bioware was given pretty free reign and little guidance, which is very unlike what Nintendo does when they let a third or second party handle their IPs. Chronicles was also finished post-EA-buyout and rushed out the door by a significantly downsized team. Its soundtrack was even entirely lost by the music director and he made a new one last second.

Like, I guess it could have been much better, but considering the circumstances surrounding its release I'm surprised it's even a 6/10 or so. I remember kind of liking it, though I admittedly don't remember much at all about it.

Yeah, it's kinda like playing as Black Suit Spider-Man in Web Of Shadows.

He doesn't feel or act like Spider-Man would, but is fun to see how the story goes as him just for the sake of random fun.

I don't even find jokes about the matter particularly amusing, regardless of the context. I know I sure as hell wouldn't be happy if someone made a joke about it regarding myself.

To each their own as far the humor part goes, I guess, but I just can't stand incest. And it's definitely best not to make a joke about it towards someone else. I can't imagine many people out there would be remotely appreciative of it.

You don't know if someone is pretty sensitive to it, and it can be a trigger for some people.

Agreed.

Making jokes about fictional characters is one thing.

Making jokes about a user themselves can go either way (depends on what the joke is and if it can be taken as offensive).

Making jokes about a user’s family is a big NO. Doesn’t matter how funny you think you are or how many likes you get on the post, there are certain lines you simply don’t cross.

I learned the phrase "Nut up" (which simply means Man up in jersey) isn't as wide spread as I thought.

Couple that with me using it in a conversation about my sister and...Smashboards did what it does best.

I’ve heard the phrase from time to time, but it’s not really a mainstream phrase everywhere.

And yeah, whenever you use some type of phrase in this thread, assume someone will somehow use it in the worst possible way.

Those two are at least more enjoyable than LEGO Star Wars 2 for NDS.

Seriously: that one is the only game I trully hate. At least Chronicles makes you laugh with some parts of the plot and Hunters works ok on a 3DS.

48 volunteers sign up to fight robots that run on money, knowing it is a loosing battle. Fortunately, help is on the way. But the help won’t arrive immediately...

I actually did see that but I somehow totally missed the other stuff. It made me want to start a new playthrough of Awakening but then I realized it was 1am and I was still buzzed.

Also the last time I started an Awakening playthrough the boss on the first stage crit Chrom with a 2% chance and I had to start over so I said **** that.

Being slightly more serious, looking back at the conversation, from my perspective the joke is harmless but people have a right to be offended by it. If you make a joke that people feel uncomfortable about it, I'd say you should apologise but at the same time you have a right to make that joke in the first place. I think if nobody's offended by it it's fine. If arigarmy apologised then I don't see why it's a big deal. Nobody has to be demonised there. Essentially, I think you have a right to make jokes like that and others have a right to be offended by it. And I have a right to not actually present a solid opinion.

I kind of wish Nintendo had its own Final Fight like Sega did with streets of rage. Imagine in a Fire Emblem like setting where the city was ravaged with crime after a war happened. You fight through hoards of angry civilizans, and criminals to help out, but mostly to survive and escape. Weaponusually are ones in Fire Emblem, but can also be healing staffs, tone you throw with, 2x4s, metal pieces, just anything you get your hands on.
