I say go for Palla, I still think they're gonna toss some Year 1 Seasonals to the Grail Shop.

On the other hand I've seen some lit Spring Chrom builds despite his Gen 1 stats.

In the end is more about how much you hate Surtr I guess.

Spring Chrom is kind of flexible unit, his stat spread isn't actually bad despite being a Gen 1 Unit; maybe outclassed; but he's far from bad.
