So to start off, my idea is structured a bit differently from the Sonic one (this was before Odyssey BTW there’d be 8 main worlds but each world would have 4 levels. Both Marios have a version of the first three levels but the Mario of that era would have the last level which would be a castle and boss, (there’s also secret levels that follow this structure) the worlds on question are:

NES-SNES
SMB Mushroom Plains (World 1)
SMB3 Desert Hill
SMW Yoshi’s Island

N64-GCN
SM64 Cool Cool Mountain/Snowman’s Land

As much as I like that stage three Sobble i'm still not going to believe it. Pokemon has some insane fan artists, and its easier to fake a 2D image then an animated 3D model in-game.

Sobble looks okay I'm not a fan of it but it's not terrible either.
My boy Scorbunny looks pretty cool and if this is true, seems to be a Fire/Electric type which is awesome.
And Grookey looks like Patrick Star.
