Maybe it varies between colleges and degrees. But a thesis in one of the Bachelor's sciences doesn't surprise me. I think they don't make us have a thesis for literature because of the ridiculous amounts of papers we always have to write for every literature class. Funnily enough, my Master's program won't require me to write a thesis either.
