No it hasn't Coliseum shows us the way a human should be proportioned, shield and words are still chibi.
I know gamefreak lol if they were going to push the boundaries of what can be done in a pokemon game it would have besn revealed by now.
Instead we will get
A new villain team
A new battle mechanic
New pokemon
New moves
Cya gen 4 remakes
No..its really not..
Pokémon Sun & Moon and Sword & Shield matched the artwork for their own games while the Coliseum games used a completely different artstyle, so of course they are going to look different. They might not be 1:1 in regards to proportions, but to call them chibi seems incorrect to me when they are still more 'realitiscally' proportioned then the games from Red & Blue up to X & Y.
Do we really need something to 'push the boundaries' in a new game though? I mean, if something isn't broke, why fix it? If something is going to push boundaries, it'll come naturally like it did with Breath of the Wild. Its entirely possible that if they tried to push the boundaries just to say they did could blow up in their faces.
Honestly, I can't wait for Gen 4 remakes.
You know P5 and SMT are developed by different teams, right? They don't even share a budget.
Yup, exactly right. Persona and Shin Megami Tensei only share Persona/Demon designs at this point..although they once shared more, such as an artist.
