However, this is probably my favorite Ultimate set. Two of my favorite players, but only one can win.

Still need something to kill the boredom at the moment, though.

Just a question: is Heero actually trying to kill her in the original Gundam or is that original to your abridged series? Because I've seen the photoset of the scene where he rips the invintation in half and tells he'll kill her countless times on my dash already.
He is. And it's just as stupid in the main show. That ripped invitation scene is actually how the real show ended their pilot episode.

Fun fact: in the real show Heero says the exact words "I'll kill you" to six different characters and doesn't end up killing a single one of them. This was acknowledged in a Japan-only Gundam game where Heero's powerup was called "I'll kill you" and all of his stats got boosted but you could not defeat the other player while his powerup was still active.

On an unrelated note, I think Marss is gonna be the next up for Summit. New England has been very quiet lately but they’re good at getting their player in, and Marss has pretty much just scraped by so far. I think he’s gonna get a ridiculously huge spirit bomb at the last second to push him ahead. Glutonny has the whole of Europe backing him now though, so that might be stiff competition,

That is the most hilarious story-mechanic tie in I have ever heard.

Who's the most evil character in smash?
Sorry I'm late.

Dark Samus doesn't do much in Metroid Prime 2. She isn't overtly evil, just kind of meandering about Aether, collecting Phazon and powering up, not participating in the plot or having much other purpose or directive.

Immediately after that game, when she's acquired enough Phazon to become pure Phazon, is when things get nuts, most of which is relayed in the Space Pirate Data throughout Metroid Prime 3. I'll summarize.
  • The Space Pirates accidentally picked her up with a bunch of Phazon when they returned to Aether, which revived her, as shown in the opening. The Space Pirate reaction is hilarious: “Surely, we are cursed.”
  • “The fiendish shrew” consumed all the Phazon and wiped out a third of the crew in just minutes. It goes on to say “Now she moves at will through the halls of Colossus, using her witchery to beguile the minds of the crew. We are unable to call for aid, and only a few of us remain to stand against her. All is lost.”
  • That space pirate is brainwashed as well, and now he and all the other brainwashed Space Pirates are part of a quasi-religious cult of Dark Samus, completely subject to her will.
  • After brainwashing the Pirates, Dark Samus leaves, causing some of her disciples to doubt that she will return, and they are promptly shot for their lack of faith. Then Dark Samus returns on one of the game’s Leviathans, and orders the Pirates to follow her back to where she came from. Those who were too afraid to follow were shot as well, and Dark Samus took her remaining disciples to Phaaze, the source of all Phazon.
  • Interestingly, after this, Dark Samus instructs the Space Pirates on specifically how to upgrade the Leviathan and turn it into a fearsome warship. It’s noted that Dark Samus was “pleased” with the Space Pirates’ work.
  • The Leviathan is then taken to go kidnap the Aurora Unit 313, a living supercomputer, from a Federation training vessel. Dark Samus commanded the Space Pirates to jettison all Federation personnel onboard who weren't immediately killed in the attack out the airlocks.
  • The Aurora Unit is then installed on Phaaze used to control the planet, launching more Leviathans to crash into other planets and infect them with Phazon. This is how Phazon came to Tallon IV in the first game, and what Aether was struck with in the second, tying the trilogy together. One is now launched at the Space Pirate homeworld, converting all the Space Pirates there into new disciples for Dark Samus.
  • More Leviathans are launched to other planets, one of which is Norion, a heavily fortified Federation world, where Dark Samus will personally lead the attack, with Ridley coming as well. Even Ridley works for Dark Samus now, though it's unclear whether he's brainwashed, too, or just willingly on board with the whole thing. Both are plausible.
  • After all attempts to stop Samus and her bounty hunter comrades fail, Dark Samus personally shows up to whoop their ass in one attack and give them evil mind-controlling space cancer (Phazon corruption) that eventually corrupts the other bounty hunters just like the Space Pirates. Samus is the only one who has the willpower to hold out.
  • Samus is then forced to kill each of her bounty hunter friends in combat, as there's no way of freeing them from the corruption. Ridley killed Samus's parents when she was a child--Dark Samus forced Samus to kill her friends when she was an adult.
  • After each hunter is defeated, an apparition of Dark Samus appears to personally absorb them.
  • While Samus destroys the Leviathans that landed at two new planets, as well as the one at the Space Pirate homeworld, in the grand scheme of things, it wouldn't have meant much. A cut Space Pirate Data from the game shows how Dark Samus reacted to those events, as well as detailing what her grand plan was:
    • "The fury of our leader is great. Many disciples have experienced her wrath since Urtraghus fell. However, despite our defeat, her confidence is unbroken. Soon the next phase of her campaign shall take effect against the Federation.

The Aurora has performed the last calculations. Our leader is ready to strike. Soon, Phaaze will sow a large number of Phazon Seeds. They will feel hundreds of Federation worlds. This blow may be the end of Phaaze, but our leader is without worry. For hundreds of live Phazon worlds will replace it."
  • In other words, Dark Samus's objective was to corrupt hundreds of Federation planets, killing or brainwashing billions or more, and ultimately taking over the entire galaxy. Singlehandedly.
  • It takes an entire Federation Fleet and Samus to travel to Phaaze to put a stop to Dark Samus and her Space Pirate cult. By now, the casualties of Dark Samus's actions have to number in tens of thousands, at least.
  • When Samus enters Phaaze, the corruption inside her intensifies beyond treatment, and it'd only be a matter of time before she's fully corrupted. So while this huge battle for the fate of the galaxy is raging on, Samus is constantly on the verge of being corrupted
So yeah, out of all the characters in Ultimate, Dark Samus is the only one who personally led a bloody war to corrupt an entire galaxy, while taking the time to mess with Samus. People harp on about how awesome and evil Ridley is, because he's been around so much and for so long, but Dark Samus in Metroid Prime 3 is probably the evilest and most powerful character in all of Metroid.

And that's just half of why she's so cool.

I just want some ZSS in, if Nairo won't do it. These spirit bombs that keep happening last minute somehow aren't even unexpected. Every Summit, it just happens with less time, and is more amplified.

That’s fair. With the way the voting system is it’s pretty much the only way to set in. Maybe next summit they should shake up the system, but I’m not sure what they would do tbh.

I actually kinda wish that game turned out better than it did.

Because I would love PS mascots to duke it out in a game of the same level of quality and charm as Smash.

so you guys just added the explosion
I'm enjoying what I've seen so far. I meant to watch it long ago but I had to leave when I was watching the first ep and then I just kinda forgot about it.
Audio work is the strongest point imo, whoever is in charge of that deserves some praise. Writing is also great though I won't get jokes if they're Gundam references lol.
"I'm... unfamiliar with that model" is probably my favorite one so far.

Also, lmao at how they turned that meme into an actual power up.

Y'all so since I'm bored I wanna tell you guys the weirdest thing that happened at the con I went to

So me and my sis are just hanging out in a corner where there are benches, waiting for an event to open their line. We're just chilling and talking, when this girl cosplaying as Uraraka strolls up, all smiley and happily, while this guy with a huge fancy camera (like news reporter style) follows her. These people obviously know each other, as they're talking and such.

She then sits on the big fancy beanbag across from us, takes off her shoes, and the guy kneels down and starts recording her ****ing toes for like 10 minutes straight! Just thid girl wigglong her toes into the camera and this guy has the such a stone-cold expression while recording that it's actually scary.

Then while me and my sister are just sitting in abject shock (not staring as that would be awkward as hell but we knew what was happening) some guy dressed as Deku (presumably her friend) also strolls up and starts talking to her. And then the guy just slooooowly moves the camera up to her boobs, lingers there for a little bit, and then moves up to her mouth and asks her to open it so he can record her teeth. Her ****ing teeth.

At that point we left because obviously it would be awkward to stay there as these people record softcore fetish porn, but damn it was awkward as hell the moment he started recording her feet.

Thank you. I'm the one who does all the audio so you just made me feel really good. :)

I'm glad you're liking it! (And the unfamiliar with that model line is my favorite line we've made and sadly I was not the one who wrote it.)

Agency.

Too many times a character that people are trying to convince you is strong through appearance or gritty one-liners or whatever has their "strength" undermined by the story not actually giving them any agency in their actions. The plot happens to them rather than because of them.

This can apply to characters of any gender, but female characters get it more often by default due to being written primarily by men or not being the protagonist.
Not being defined by her gender identity and not being completely flawless for no reason other than pandering. Very few pieces of entertainment media accurately depict a female character. There are struggles that exist that are unique to women, but a lot of writers seem to fall short when trying to introduce them to their character
Universally-independent way of thinking, like everyone else. A strong female character is a character that's always ahead of the curve and can decide for themselves. Fate is in their hands and if a situation is out of their control, it's just miscalculation and environmental factors. It applies to anyone and everyone regardless of gender, but that's how I define a "strong" female character.
These are very good data.

I ask because I've had this idea and I've been writing and learning unreal engine.

In terms of what’s going on with Dyllybirdy Dyllybirdy I’ll try to explain to the best of my ability, but I’ll need a little time. The most I can say at this time is that Dylly has been dealing with some serious health issues for a while now.
I hope he recovers soon.

I’ve always wondered what’s going through the head of porn cameramen. Do they find it in anyway titilating? Or is it just “10 more days until I get my pay check”?

You want to know the best way to write a female character?

Employ some women. If you want to write a diverse cast of characters you need diversity in your team to reflect that.

A lady in her 20s followed me around like the whole day when I was dressed a Brook from One Piece...

Hmmm I was 16 at the time.

Huh.

That's both odd AND guaranteed to be on the internet somewhere by now.

A lady in her 20s followed me around like the whole day when I was dressed a Brook from One Piece...

Hmmm I was 16 at the time.
She wanted to show you something Brook is always asking to see.

How did you not see that? Missed opportunity...

Think of words that are more vowel than consonant. There are surprisingly few of them.
A
I
Age
Ear
Oar
Outer
Quake
Quote
Axiom
Igloo
Utopia
Ukelele
Awesome
Equation
Pneumonia
Automobile
Equilibrium
Onomatopoeia

Not super hard if you start with a vowel.

Look I was bored while walking back to my dorm room, OK?

so you guys just added the explosion
I'm enjoying what I've seen so far. I meant to watch it long ago but I had to leave when I was watching the first ep and then I just kinda forgot about it.
Audio work is the strongest point imo, whoever is in charge of that deserves some praise. Writing is also great though I won't get jokes if they're Gundam references lol.
"I'm... unfamiliar with that model" is probably my favorite one so far.

Also, lmao at how they turned that meme into an actual power up.
My favorite was the exchange on the plane.

"Just another war started by men swinging their swords around."
"Their...swords...?"
"The ones between their legs."
"Oh," *gestures to actual sword* "This is just for decoration; I don't actually use it."
"Tell me about it..."
