i was reviewing the whole situation/game footage last night before judging it and basically came to the same conclusion, so thanks for saving me the writeup
ALRIGHT I HEARD THAT SOME OF YOU WERE TALKING **** ABOUT JOKER. SOMETHING HAVING TO DO WITH CATHERINE: FULL BODY'S ENDING BEING TRANSPHOBIC OR SOME ****. WE CAN ALL AGREE THAT TRANSPHOBIA IS BAD BUT:
A.) NONE OF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE PERSONA OR SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI SERIES, SO WHY SHOULD IT AFFECT THEM?
AND
B.) THE CONTROVERSY IS LARGELY FAKE ANYWAYS
The Catherine Full Body issue is fake guys! Take a look pic.twitter.com/vnTeP802Fd

LOOK I GET THAT HASHINO IS A LITTLE ***** BOY WHO DOESN'T PROPERLY REPRESENT LGBTQ+ PEOPLE WITHIN THE GAMES HE MAKES, BUT THIS ISN'T A GLARINGLY HORRIBLE OVERSIGHT THAT DESERVES GETTING A ****ING CHARACTER THAT PEOPLE HAVE INVESTED TIME AND ENERGY AND PASSION INTO GETTING ****ING CUT FROM THE GAME.
*Ah-hem* Sorry about that, my inner Joker fan got the best of me. If you don't want to support Atlus or Hashino that's completely okay, you have every right to as a consumer and I'm not going to fault anyone for that. That being said, if you feel really strongly about this just don't buy the character. If you've already bought either his fighter pack or the Fighters Pass then you've got options too:
Please do anything but complain about it on the internet. It may feel good in the moment, but ultimately it does nothing. At best it's virtue signaling and you show how moral of a person you are. At worst you're drowned out by a sea of supporters and dissenters and you come off as another part of a conglomerate thought process because you made a knee-jerk reaction to a piece of information alongside hundreds of thousands of others who did as well. Either way you're making little to no real change in the world, and that's what you should be doing. Not ragging on an innocent character.
- Donate the same or a similar amount to a charity supporting LGBTQ+ people and advocacy
- Spread the word about why you're concerned by the representation of LGBTQ+ people in Catherine Full: Body or their representation in media in general
- Advocate for LGBTQ+ rights yourself. Find an organization doing it and volunteer, intern, or even donate money as mentioned above. Maybe even go talk to a political official like district representative or senator(s) (if you're in America).
- Or just take it to heart. We're human; sometimes we make mistakes. Next time maybe don't jump the gun on purchasing a pack that you don't know the contents of, or do research on characters: who helped create them and what do they believe in, what does the character stand for themself, do those beliefs align with your values. Asking yourself questions like these before hitting the purchase button makes for a more meaningful decision that is harder to regret.
I get that this comes incredibly late, but I just saw that pop up while reading over the thread myself and felt the need to address it. If the moderators feel the need to remove it, by all means please do so.
