In Addition to the Mystery Dungeon open spirit submissions, I would like to announce a spirit task submission. Unlike spirit themes, Task submissions will not be open submissions, and will instead be restricted to a list of preapproved spirits. There will be no time limit on these spirits, and will instead stay open until every spirit on the list has been submitted. Given that we're in the middle of our Pokémon fighter, its the perfect time for a Pokémon spirit task!

Spirit Task:
Legendaries:
Heatran
Silvally
Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu & Tapu Fini (The previous Tapu Koko spirit will be cut)
Cosmog
Ultra Beasts (Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Kartana, Celesteela, Guzzlord) (the previous Nihilego spirit will be cut)
Stakataka & Blacephalon
Naganadel
Urshifu (Rapid Blows)
Urshifu (Single Strike)

Poke Ball Mons:
Rillaboom, Cinderace, & Inteleon
Dracovish
Dragapult
Galarian Meowth
Meowstic
Spewpa
Fletchling
Gogoat

Past Poke Ball Mons:
Onix
Cyndaquil
Gulpin
Bonsly
Munchlax

Past Smash run enemies:
Cryogonal
Petilil

In Ultimate, almost all the legendary Pokémon are included as spirits. I've added most of the ones that aren't such as the regi trio and most of the Gen 8 legendaries, however there are still a few left. Additionally, there are a few Poké Ball summon that don't have spirits yet, so this task is meant to fix that for both past and present Poké Ball mons. And finally there are a couple smash run enemies which don't have spirits yet, so this task will solve that issue as well.

You may notice that some past Poké Ball and Smash Run enemies are excluded from this list, such as Torchic, Gastly, Koffing, and Starmie, however this is due to the fact that a member of their evolutionary line is already present as a spirit in Ultimate, and we only need one stage per line. (with a few exceptions such as cross gen evos, forms, the Charmander line, and potential others not mentioned here). Additionally, baby legendaries such as Kubfu, Meltan, and Phione were excluded, with the exception of cosmog due to its plot relevance in S&M.

There is no limit to how many spirits you may submit as long as they are on this list, but please use the standard format and include all necessary information. If spirits are listed together, then they must be combined as a single spirit. We are trying to explore new ways to ensure our spirit selection includes relevant spirits, and this is one of those ways, so any constructive criticism is appreciated. Feel free to mention if you think a spirit has either been included or excluded from the list when you think it shouldn't have been as well.

what about the knight from hollow knight? he could have a really cool moveset
We choose things by "jobs," so like "Choose a fighter from Fire Emblem" or "Choose a fighter from a retro first-party." Then we submit characters who fit that criteria and vote on them, and then we add the moveset and all that. For the Knight, we'll have to wait until we have an indie submission or something else that fits.

p1cklee0424 p1cklee0424 Hello! Please read this informational copy pasta about this thread to learn more about how we run things.
Hello potential developer!
Welcome to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sequel Project - now known as Super Smash Bros. Infinite! We are very excited to see that you have expressed interest in joining our project. Here are some FAQs regarding our project:

Is this actually going to be a fan game?
Unfortunately, this is just a creative brainstorming project. We are only coming up with ideas on how this game will function, what characters it will have, and how different it will be from its predecessor, Ultimate.

Cool! How do I submit a character/stage/assist trophy/etc.?
This project is run on a job-by-job basis. This means that the thread creator, Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom or the Executive Assistants, ( Ramen Tengoku Ramen Tengoku , Mr. Robotto Mr. Robotto , and Krookodilian Krookodilian ) will be providing prompts regularly for us developers to answer. These prompts can range from specific (Submit a Halloween Themed character) to vague (Suggest a new first-party franchise for our next character). Once some time has passed after the prompt is given, we will vote on the suggestions, with the winning suggestion(s) making it to the final game. This means that we won't have the opportunity to suggest characters/stages/etc. until the prompt itself is given to us. Furthermore, when we do add characters, keep in mind that we try to keep the newcomers different. For example, after having Jill & Leon as our Game Awards newcomers, we were unable to submit Officer Howard as our next newcomer because they would be too similar (anime cop with a gun that kills otherworldly monsters). This doesn't mean that you would not be able to suggest them again later, it just means we can't have two similar characters back to back. Again, we will have specific times to suggest characters, so please hold onto your ideas for then!

What about Spirits and Music?
As with other parts of the game, we will be submitting spirits on a case-by-case basis, in order to account for the work our Spirit Team does. The two main times we will submit spirits will be after a new character is revealed and when a spirit event is made. Spirit events are week long submissions that are themed around a particular... theme. This can be things like holidays, such as Easter, genres, such as fighting games, to more abstract concepts, like inanimate objects. We do have set rules, about submitting spirits, however. During spirit events, we will only accept 3 submissions per user and each submission is approved based on the discretion of the Spirit Team. Some examples of spirits that will be rejected are real life hardware, such as gaming consoles and accessories, spirits with no official art, and spirits that will increase the age rating. Additionally, when submitting spirits, it is highly encouraged to follow the format listed below to provide the Spirits Team with the information required to add them to the wiki.

In terms of music, we have a document on the main page. Music will be added periodically to prevent the document from filling up too fast. Each universe has a cap number, such as 40, that will be the maximum number of allowed songs. Additionally, this cap will be capped by a second, temporary cap, so you it is presented as 15/40. This means that of the 40 songs that will be added throughout the project's lifespan, only 15 will be accepted at the moment. This cap is raised every so often, and the maximum may be increased by adding a stage/character to the project later on. Like with spirits, we will be accepting music on a case-by-case basis. Songs that have difficulty negotiating for, songs with little to no relation with Nintendo or the characters in the project, or series with too many songs will be removed. Fan remixes are allowed, provided you give credit.

Wait, a wiki?
Yeah, we have a cool wiki. You'll find almost everything related to the project on this site.

That's about all I can think of for the project right now! Please enjoy your stay and we look forward to working with you!

Voting for the items has closed. Here is the full Tally for each category. Let us begin with the Original Items.
1620419806181.png

Original Item

The winner of the Original Item category is the Snowflake by Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom , congratulations! The item works as follows:
Picking up this item causes a chilly air to envelop the player. Getting close the player who holds it may freeze the opponent, but contacting them directly is a sure-fire way to get frozen.
LoZ Item

Capybara Gaming Capybara Gaming 's submission of the Spinner wins this category!
The spinner can be picked up and thrown, and acts similarly to a larger version of R.O.B.'s gyro, with one notable exception - it keeps moving forward once it hits the ground for a short time, even going off ledges and platforms; it's series of weak hits can carry fighters with low percentage's like Steve's jab. You can also ride on by either jumping on top or throwing it at your feet, for a... um, surprise attack? Just hope the enemy doesn't jump over you, or you'll have to get off and miss the opportunity of a lifetime!

Ring of Fire (Circus Charlie) Commander_Alph Commander_Alph 10 Votes

The Balloon from Balloon Fight wins this one, another winning post by Krookodilian Krookodilian yet again! the specifics can be found here:
Gives any character that picks it up the Up-Special of Villager, allowing them to have a much improved recovery. Once an Up-Special is used the Balloon pops. Villager will have a third balloon attached to his Up Special since he already uses the balloons for his recovery, which will make his recovery go even faster and further than before.

Sprinkles Capybara Gaming Capybara Gaming 14 Votes!!
Another winning post by Capybara Gaming Capybara Gaming , congratulations! The Sprinkles from Miitopia is our new Mii Item this time around!
When dropped on the ground, the item takes the form of a seasoning shaker with different colors inside. Each sprinkle has a different effect, and to activate it, the fighter will automatically toss the item down, shattering the shaker and making them glow slightly the color of the sprinkles.
The colors being the following:
Green HP Sprinkles restore health at a rate of 1% for 10 seconds. (50% chance to appear)
Yellow MP Sprinkles prevent moves from staling at all for 12 seconds. (35% chance to appear)
Blue Life Sprinkles will provide the user with an extra stock, only appearing in stock matches. (1% chance to appear)
Purple Shield Sprinkles will strengthen the user's shield for 12 seconds, reducing shield damage by 40%. (13% chance to appear).
Red Hyper Sprinkles instantly fill the Final Smash gauge if it is on, or grant the user a Smash Ball otherwise. (1% chance to appear)
So those are 4 Items included at once. Please stay tuned for our next job, but in the meantime you can submit any Pokémon related Spirits from the list Krook has posted!

I can't say I like the idea of having all the Ultra Beasts share a spirit. I think it would be best if Buzzwole & Pheromosa shared, same with Kartana and Celesteela, but we should keep nihelego and give Xurkitree and Guzzlord their own.

Personally I really like the artwork of them combined, but other than that I don't have much of a preference on them being seperated or grouped. I also didn't want the Pokémon spirit section to get too bloated but it might be too late for that already lol. Upon further review the group art of them also looks to be a pain to make transparent, so we will be separating them, into the groups you described. Thanks for bringing that up!

It’s rather late (or early) but we will be starting with yet another job.

Job #100: Submit a Third Party Assist Trophy from a New Series

Following our item showcase, the Direct will move into Assist Trophies. We will be dedicating the next few jobs to them but to kick us off...

Submit an Assist Trophy from a third party franchise that’s not yet in Smash! This is intended to be the heartbreaker from hell that’s sure to make people either writhe in pain or scratch their head. This means this character/franchise is ineligible to have a fighter represent the series. This will deconfirm them and their series b

As always, please submit the character and series they are from, why they should be considered, and what they would do.

Job #100: Peppino

Anti-hero star of the (literally) up and coming indie game Pizza Tower, Peppino is amassing a bigger and bigger following day by day. His Ren & Stimpy esque gross-out animations would really stick out in the increasingly Easternised world of Smash. He would be animated in his full squash-and-stretch glory - possibly with 2D animation.

When Peppino is spawned on stage, he starts dashing and looking for someone to grab.

When he finds a target, he gives them a lunging grab.

If it connects, he'll hold them and after a brief opportunity for the victim to escape, go into one of three options:

Piledriver - Peppino will spin around the foe, jump into the air and land either slightly to the left or slightly to the right, this sends the foe upwards

Kick - a simple kick forwards.

Bite - Peppino bite the enemy - this is the most powerful but rarest option (though not extremely rare) - however it doesn't deal as much knockback as the kick or piledriver, not helped by the knockback being random.

After about 4 successful attacks, he disappears - bidding fairwell with a few pizzas (food item, kinda like Rodin's weapons) and a silly taunt

Peppino can be attacked and KO'd, however to pay tribute to Pizza Tower's immortal life system, he needs to be sent off-screen and unlike other ATs cannot be KO'd instantly by one single strong attack.

I'll be honest, this was a bit hard to think of, but I think I got something:

Third-Party Assist Trophy: Ink Bendy
CH4Bendy3D.png

Ink Bendy is the main antagonist of the Indie horror game Bendy and the Ink Machine. More commonly known as the Ink Demon, Ink Bendy is a monster created by the titular Ink Machine (and possibly some degree of demonic shenanigans) loosely based on the 1930's cartoon icon Bendy. When summoned, Ink Bendy will cause ink to envelope the portion of the stage he's on, which moves as he moves. Stepping in the ink will reduce your movement speed, and Ink Bendy will deal massive damage if he attacks, even one-hit killing you if you're at a high enough percentage as a reference to the original game. Also like the original game, Ink Bendy cannot be KO'd, so you need to avoid him at all costs.

(For anybody about to criticise me, just be glad Tattletail and Emily Wants to Play are not eligible for this).

Bastion (Overwatch)

Bastion once summoned will walk around stage in his recon form and will use his gun to attack enemies, he does need to reload it. He has another major mechanic, he will shift into his Sentry form, once in this form he will shift into a minigun form and will then shoot a large stream of bullets that deal much more damage than his recon form but he can't move. He can change into these 2 forms at will.

You can damage him in all forms but if he is in his recon form he takes more damage from the back. to compensate he can repair himself if necessary, he can't attack whilst doing it but it recovers health and allows him to stay out longer.

Towards the end of his summon he transforms into his tank form, this form turns him into a very mobile tank that shoots high powered rockets.

Once his summon period is over he transforms in to recon mode and Ganymede perches on his fingers.

All of the sound cues will be taken straight from Overwatch.

Job #100: Blinx the Cat
1620437303822.png

from Blinx: The Time Sweeper (2002)
Blinx the Cat is the failed platforming mascot from Microsoft, that while not iconic still has a decent reason to be in to show Microsoft and Nintendo's friendship, to genuinely shock people, and to just be a neat AT.

Blinx would be able to use 3 time manipulation powers while on screen that are honestly quite broken but that's okay, they're ATs they should be broken to some degree. The five time powers Blinx can use are:

  • Rewind: Blinx will rewind the game's timer and players positions 10 seconds back. The opponents are locked into what orriginally happened for the first 4 seconds
  • Fast Forward: Blinx will speed up the match, the fighter, ATs, Stage, etc. moves 1.5 times faster for 10 seconds
  • Pause: The wield of the AT, their team if on one, and the AT are the only moveable things for 6 seconds.
  • Record: Like rewind (rewinds 10 seconds), but it creates a duplicate of the summoner that does whatever the summoner was doing (with the attacks they done dealing damage, and the attacks on them dealing nothing).
  • Slow: Blinx slows the game down to a slow 0.5 time speed for 10 seconds.

Much as it pains me to admit, unless she's getting in as an official fighter in the actual games, I just don't see this community voting for her to end up as a fighter. So as with another favorite I submitted, I'm going to propose one of my most beloved characters for at the least, an assist role.

Sakura Shinguji (Sakura Wars series)

Sakura is the leading lady and main female heroine of the Sakura Wars franchise from SEGA. From an alternate timeline in which the Industrial Revolution led to even greater innovations than in our own world, the Steampunk Taisho-era Tokyo is plagued by demons. To combat them, maidens with phenomenal amounts of spiritual power battle them. Sakura is the most legendary maiden of her time, and is the center of the Imperial Floral Combat Troop - six maidens and their captain, her boyfriend, Ichiro Ogami, who by day win peoples' hearts in their theatrical performances, and by night (or whenever necessary!) they battle the Kouma that threaten their city.

Sakura Wars is a legendary series from SEGA, and in it's heyday routinely outsold basically every other SEGA IP. It's a combination strategy RPG and dating sim, and some of it's innovations to these genres led to other games picking up on them, including Fire Emblem! She's an icon to SEGA, and her series was the winning franchise in SEGA's poll of "what series would fans like to see brought back?" And in 2019, it was revived after a 15-year hiatus!

What could she do as an assist trophy? She would run around the stage, attacking people with her katana, similarly to Takamaru's old AT, but far more graceful, but by amplifying her attacks with her spiritual energy, they would hit much harder. After a set time (10 seconds, she would charge up for her final attack - Divine Cherry Blossom Blade. With a swift strike, a massive wave of pink spiritual energy is released forward , as cherry blossom petals fly out from the air encircling her. This wave deals a whopping 30% damage and deals a ton of knockback, but is incredibly telegraphed and only happens once per summoning.

But wait! If Sakura is damaged enough, she'll summon her mech, the Koubu, and will pilot it, using similar actions (with even more charge time), but these attacks are far deadlier, dealing 3.5x her normal attacks damage, and 1.8% the knockback! In this state, her Divine Cherry Blossom Blade deals 60% damage if it hits, and has an even bigger hitbox... but takes even more time to charge (almost a full five seconds!) However, if the target hit by the attack is over 150% damage - it will instantly KO them, should it hit! This effects both the normal and Koubu variants of the move.

Sure, it's obscure to audiences, especially in the West, but for the innovations it brought to both it's genres, I feel it's more than earned at least some representation in Smash!

Frogger
This hopping amphibian is no stranger to no one and has become one the most iconic characters in gaming! Well, that’s a bit of the stretch but it’s still pretty dang iconic! I decided to forgo the modern era Frogger fir more simpler times...where frogs just went splat when you rolled over them. Frogger doesn’t damage people but it can push players back slightly at it hops around. Nothing like a simple stomp to fix things. Jumping on top of it flattens the poor frog and OHKO’s it.

It was either this or Akane from DOA and I felt she was too close to Sakura or Kula

Job #100 Third Party Assist: Space Invaders

When summoned, this army of intergalactic beings will slowly move back and forth across the stage, bumping down every time they hit the edge of the screen, whilst damaging opponents who gets in their way. They will also shoot down little pellets from time to time, giving a lot for the opponents to deal with.

The invaders can be taken down individually with precise attacks. The less invaders that remain, the faster their movement will be.

They'll disappear when they either meet the ground, are all defeated, or they've been active for long enough

I'm honestly shocked Space Invaders has been represented in Smash in any form. It's become pretty much synonomus with retro video games right up there with Super Mario and Pac-Man. I'd say we remedy this by giving theses classic aliens a big notable presence here in Infinite . Of course, a fighter would be tough to do, so I think an Assist Trophy is our best bet.

Job 100:

Reimu Hakurei

Reimu is the protagonist of the Touhou series. While the series very popular in Japan, it remains still very niche in the west, which is why I submit her for this prompt. We have a lot of the roster designated towards Japanese appeal, and another 3rd party character with mostly the Japanese fanbase in mind doesn't feel like it fills much of a need on the roster. This could be used as a way to ease her into a future Smash game should the series get a boost in popularity from her inclusion here. Overall I think Touhou should get some representation in Smash as well. It's popularity in Japan has warranted that. I'm just not convinced that playable is the route to go right now. This would also allow for music from Touhou to be included, which I know has been a big selling point for some on the fence.

As an AT, Reimu would pull from her bullet hell roots and spawn on the stage, selecting one opponent and unleashing, well, an absolute bullet hell on them. It would be very difficult for the player to escape and would cause a fair amount of damage. She can do this to up to 3 players before disappearing.

Spacewar Ships and Stars
Space wars is one of THE first video games, if we have a Pong expy in smash why not include the grandaddy of all games

Space wars will materialize as a pair of ships and a few stars, colliding with the ships will gain decent damage and the bullets they shoot can cause flinching

Stars act as weaker black holes which slowly pull any opponents close to them

When summoned the background will be pitch black to help identify the trophy due to being a white wireframe

Job 100: The Crewmates & Impostor!

steam_AboutBanner.png

So I named the Among Us spirit in a way that I thought would allow leeway for a fighter later on but honestly if there's an indie rep, there's other characters I'd rather see first. Anyways without further ado,

A M O N G U S

Nine different Crewmates of varying colours will wander the stage doing various tasks such as watering plants, connecting electrical wires and monitoring the temperature. However, there is also an Impostor among us!!! One of the Crewmates will secretly be an Impostor but unlike the Impostor from Among Us, this Impostor will be focused on slaying any of the summoner's opponents. When an Impostor gets the opportunity, they will stab another player in the back! Being killed by an Impostor will result in heavy damage that can kill as early as 40% at the ledge. Afterwards, the Impostor will vent and the other Crewmates will be off to hunt the Impostor.

Fortunately, there are ways to discern with Crewmate is actually the Impostor. The most obvious one is that the Impostor will not be doing any tasks. However, this will require a good attention span on behalf of the players as not to forget what colour Crewmate has done tasks. The other more riskier way to discern an Impostor is by parrying or dodging an Impostor's attack which is very well possible. If this is the case, other Crewmates will notice and attempt to attack the Impostor. Additionally, the Impostor will also have more sporadic movement patterns.

At any point, the players may try to oust one of the Crewmates as an Impostor by grabbing them (as they cannot be attacked.) If the grabbed Crewmate turns out to be an Impostor, the Crewmates will teleport to you and eject the Impostor. If you choose wrongly however, the Crewmates will think you're the impostor and try and attack you instead! They will all disappear afterwards and the real Impostor will exit by venting.

OK

Am I worried that this level of breadth with the available material could potentially lead to an outcome that would shatter reality on a level not seen since Buck Bumble? Yes

Will I still try to make the most of this situation? Yes

Will I continue trying to spread the word of our glorious lord and savior, Opa-Opa, by any means possible? Hell yeah

So here we are!

New Third-Party Assist Trophy: Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone
673px-ASR_Opa-Opa.png

Opa-Opa is the protagonist of SEGA's classic Fantasy Zone series of "cute-em-ups", a sub-genre of shmups that are distinguished by more outlandish and colorful visuals. In fact, a sub-genre that Fantasy Zone has been considered to potentially be the first of! Opa-Opa is a sentient spaceship who has gone on some wacky space adventures that often end in emotional pain. Dude's been through some tough ****.

As an Assist Trophy, Opa-Opa would essentially fly around and schüt. He's always shooting sideways, but he can fly freely in any direction to compensate. He'd be a little faster compared to his home game to better fit the pacing of the fights (we can always just go with the narrative that he has a movement upgrade equipped), and he shoots the basic Twin Shot projectile - two little laser blasts, parallel to each other.

Why include Opa-Opa? Well, first of all, look at him - he is a funny dude. And he's not some nobody either, he's a genuinely beloved and classic SEGA character! Which kinda transitions into a deeper reasoning I have for submitting him, in that I'm not exactly satisfied with the way Smash has represented SEGA so far. I feel like we haven't gotten enough stuff from their in-house side - there's a very distinct feel to their in-house IPs that almost makes them feel like a "family" in the same way a lot of people view, say, Capcom's IPs, and it's a feel that I've always really loved and it's why I tend to prefer their "classic" IPs. I'm not trying to imply Bayonetta or Persona aren't "real" SEGA or whatever - that's bull****, I'll gladly include them as being part of SEGA's IP library - but this is more of a personal gripe: it feels like the SEGA I love and the part of their history I care about the most has kinda gotten the short end of the stick. Besides Sonic, from this sect of stuff we only really have the Virtua Fighter content, which I love that it's here, but I do think there's a lot more potential here we can dive into. This company genuinely has such a huge legacy that often goes unnoticed because people would rather just see them as nothing but a Sonic machine - I've seen people push the narrative that "uhhhhhhhhhh well actually sega don't really have a lot of good ips aside from the ones already in smash" and that couldn't be farther from the truth! And obviously we can rectify all this with a character from that part of SEGA - and there's a TON of good options, and I'd love to try to push some of them when it's appropriate to do so - but then I also have to face the crushing reality that it's precisely because of the fact that so many people only see them as Sonic that if we ever get a new SEGA character in this project, it'll probably be Eggman or something. So I'll take what I can get!

Now have this Opa-Opa plushie. Cherish it.

Job 100: Hat Kid

Yes, for this job, I'm decomfirming Hat Kid. I chose Hat Kid because she comes from an indie game that was insanely popular when it came out, as well as having crazy meme potential. As an assist trophy, Hat Kid would run around the stage, hitting people with her umbrella. She could also switch hats, like the sprint hat, which makes Hat Kid sprint to the nearest opponent and punch them (4% chance for Hat Kid to use her scooter). Other hats would include the time stop hat, which does the same thing as Shadow for 4 seconds, the brewing hat which makes Hat Kid throw explosive concoctions at opponents, and the ice hat which does the same thing as Kirby's down special (only activates in the air, causes a small, icy shockwave). And that covers it!

Calling it now, the AT is gonna be someone like the Space Invaders or Opa-Opa. If the third-party Echo being Leon has told us anything, it's that we're gonna default to the safest options that don't deconfirm popular characters.

Third Party Assist Trophy

Ulala
Space Channel 5

Ulala is the main protagonist of SEGA's Space Channel 5 series. She's a news reporter of the similarly name broadcasting channel, Channel 5 whom through out the event of the game investigate and cover the alien invasion and other events alike on her own show, Ulala's Swingin' Report Show.

As an Assist Trophy she dance her way t the middle of the stage, at the same time the music immediately change to either Getting The Truth from the first game or REPORT 1 Ulala Again from Part 2, both song played during the first level. Similar to the gameplay of Space Channel 5 you have to look out for the place where she will shoot her blue ray gun by listening to which direction she will shoot.
Her partner, Fuse will be the first that says the line which Ulala then repeat. "Left/Up/Down/Right" is suppose to tell the player on where she will shoot indicated by a stylized reticle based on the game theme, the specific placement seems to be randomize. "Chu!/Shoot!" is where Fuse says to shoot there and on repeat is where Ulala started to shoot. When you got shot by the ray gun however you will get stunned in place.

Example:
Fuse says "Left, Right, Shoot Shoot!" which means the reticle is located on both sides to which he command Ulala to shoot left and then right, Ulala then repeat with the Shoot! part is where she genuinely start shooting.

Job 100: Protagonist (E.V.O: Search for Eden)

1620493590579.png

This creature (at the bottom left of the picture above) is the main protagonist of the game E.V.O: Search for Eden and the main goal is to evolve to survive and fight creatures to gain ego points needed to evolve. His evolution depends on what you want and how much ego points you have.

The form in the image above (Rhino/Lion/Moose/Unicorn hybrid) will be the form used in this game. He will kick opponents from behind, bite opponents in the front, ram his horn (which will break after three uses) and jump on the opponents. He can be KOed and will drop meat after being KOed, just like almost all of his opponents in his game. For simplicity, he will be called creature in this game.

Mosty likely, which kinda leads to a worry of mine I mentioned in the discord. Eventually we're going to have to make some tough calls/cuts on characters or a lot of them are going to get left out of the game. Like I'd personally just rather get into that now instead of going to DLC without doing that and having a ton of characters who should get something in Smash be left out completely. I think that's what Venus was going for here too, but he also submitted Frogger so I guess I'm not sure.

That's just my personal philosophy on it though. I know deconfirming isn't fun and killing off characters left and right isn't something that's going to keep people invested in playing. I'm not really sure what the solution is I guess since nobody is going to start voluntarily killing off their own favorite characters, just something I feel like should get tossed out there while we're sitting on the half way point on the base roster.

Job #100: Spyro the Dragon
1620509637977.png

With Crash being included as a fighter, his spiritual brother has to make an appearance somehow, right? With a second activision rep not seeming super likely, but Spyro also being a painful disconfirmation for many, I figure he works quite well for this assist job. If we view it from a real world perspective, Spyro's games were also much less popular in Japan, unlike Crash, so Spyro getting second fiddle to Crash seems realistic. Spyro is a gaming icon, even being recognized as such by Nintendo is a recent advertisement, so his inclusion is warranted. Not to mention his recent series revival, from both the Reignited Trilogy, and inclusion in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled.

Spyro would have a relatively basic function, charging across the stage with his horns, breathing fire to attack the opponents, and gliding when in the air.
