We've got a wicked chess club!

lulz.

In all seriousness, u of i football, basketball, and hockey are all pretty fun. U of I is a great school all around, one of the top 10 public schools in the country, and has awesome departments.

well our football team is terrible this year. but it's still fun. especially the year we went to the rose bowl. i had season tickets for football most years and basketball every year. i kinda wish i had gone to a hockey game

Matt, do you have a job yet? I heard you don't want to pass more than 4 exams without having worked.

yeah i've heard passing too many exams before you get a job MIGHT make you seem overqualified examwise for starting positions and underqualified experiencewise for anything higher up, leaving you in an awkward position. they don't wanna be paying too high a salary for someone who still won't know what they're doing yet. it probably varies by company

i think you might be fine if you stick with the preliminaries though, you might wanna hold off on CAS 5 or whatever SOA has next. maybe use the time to brush up on advanced excel. vba. sas. sql.

plus you miss out on the awesome study time and 4 day work weeks exam periods give you. i get like 12-16 days off every 6 months and my company is probably lower end of the spectrum. well they're not technically days off since i still have to study but i don't have to deal with waking up at ungodly hours and the dumb commute
