If you're using a University room (e.g. Weston Lounge), you're not allowed to do money (officially).

hey does anyone know if my icard will still work places even though i graduated? it says it expires in like 2012

is there anyone who is really old that might know this?

i wonder if there are any really old people in here...hmmmm

I don't think so, but I got one anyway because the one I'd had since 2002 was in bad shape.

You can't use it at IMPE or ARC or whatever it is now. If you try swiping in the system will show you're not a current student and they'll direct you to the service desk where you can pay a fee if you feel like it. You can obviously use it for things like the buses since you just flash your card at the driver. What other things would you be planning on using your ICard for?

so to any current UIUC students wanna give me some advice about the university? like whats it like and stuff...i was thinking about checking it out. Plus i know alot of smashers from the area too ^_^

Go into engineering, business, or computer science. U of I is pretty good at those three areas, don't go here for anything else.

it's pretty good for it, 95% of our current and alumni smashers are from it, and you get to meet darkrain AOB and Matt R at conventions someday

i think you're right about the largest, but i think it wasn't the best by some ranking or something but it's definitely up there

Oh, that's cool if you seriously want to. I was making a joke because I ran the last one you hosted.
If I'm still here when you do that, I could help out, but I'm not doing everything myself again.

I was told that they no longer rent out that space during the semester, but you could ask about spring break. Their basement isn't big enough, so if you can't swing it you'll have to look elsewhere. Jessica is no longer there, and I'm not sure what her title was, but you could ask for Jessica's replacement and say that you are interested in renting space for the video game tournaments that have been hosted there for years.
The church on Goodwin+Green has a large hall upstairs that could work--I never used it because they wanted $300, which actually doesn't sound like as much now as it did at the time. That's the only other workable place I found when I was looking for a place to have SMYM 2. Don't even bother trying to find University space--they have too many rules.

That's the longest post I've written in a while. I hope you read the whole thing and enjoy it.

Also Durand, you should learn kung fu to go with that haircut.

My sister happens to be the vice president of the illini union board and has a significant amount of influence over the events held. It would be fairly easy for me to pull some strings and have a melee tourney that the Illini Union would endorse/advertise...

mmmm.... problem is that u can only hold it till a certain time and lots of restrictions
like prizes can't be money prizes if i remember

I'll look around for places and i guess check out places we already did see

=_= the last haircut i got was beginning of summer where i shaved my head...
so what u saw was just my hair growing out : p
