I live on campus and I'm always looking for competent Melee players. I'm interested in learning 64 too, but I'm still a total noob in that game.

Go find terr13; he lives about 5 minutes off campus (I forget which street).

On another note, I'm probably going up to Berkeley sometime within the next two months, so we could get some matches in if you wanted.

Berkeley has contacted us (Davis) about doing another UC crew battle. They've left the option open for other UCs to participate like last time, although none of the other schools could make it before. Would any other schools be interested? They've offered to come to Davis, but nothing is set yet.

well I think we should see who's coming/interested first then let all the respective team captain agree on the rule set

last time in Nov 2006 we let anyone participate as long as they were a currently enrolled student of a participating university

This is just a thought, but since people might be coming long distances I thought it might be nice to do two days. Maybe then we could do a UC thing on one day and general crews the next? Or just make it two days of smash!

yea i feel kinda bad alienating people who want to play. y not just do the uc crew battle on the side. i mean, the crew battle isnt gonna take an entire day after all =P

Well depending on the number of schools who show up, it could take a while. I think ideally we'd want all the crews to play each other, so the number of "battles" would be (number of crews) N!/2(N-2)! That could end up being a lot. Unless I'm mistaken about how crew battles work.

I miss UC crew battles. I'll be applying to a few UCs for grad school (UCI, UCLA, UC BERKELEY) so I might be able to join in on these again like when I went to UCSD
