Since teams tend to change at every tournament, the system currently works like this.

If your team gets first place, which is listed at 45 points, both teams partners get the individual amount of points of 45 each. 2nd gets 30 per partner each, and so forth.

The points depend on the placement and not the partner you're with. Of course, if a winning team decides to switch one of their partners and get 1st again, they get the 45 points, and the partner that was switched gets the amount of points depending on his placement.

Probably around 4 or 5 at best.

Though honestly we might do pools first before we do teams. In the case that you're coming in late, we either stick you in a pool if you come in during, or put you at last seed.

Since singles has pools to seed the players, will doubles seeding in later events at least be determined by the circuit standings or will they always be random seeding through the rest of the season? And if it does use them, I'm guessing it would go by the combined points of the 2 players?

Yeah Hefaustos, I guess I could still use it, though I've put together another one since then, lol.

the train is a huge pain; you'll have to take it all the way to newark then transfer; it'll be like 1-22 hours iirc

Yeah, why would pools be before teams!? There are always people coming in late but I understand that they will be seeded the suxor for it but this has never been done in an NJ tourney before so why now? It feels like a new rule/change comes up in every single NJ tourney. I feel like an experimental guinea pig :(

*Whoa! I'm posting here way too much* <_<

KOTC did it, guys. It's not something new in the state. -_-

I suppose there's no need for it. KOTC did it by hand and found it convenient to do singles pools before teams because they needed to seed everyone manually and did so while teams took place. We have the tio program, so it's not such a big issue, but doing pools before teams also lessens the downtime between events and helps the tournament run faster and smoother. Remember that the store needs to have us out of there by a certain time - we can't have the event running the entire day.into the evening.

We might do a teams pool too, and that might start before the singles pool should we decide that we'll do all the pools before the main events.

Keitaro, we do different things each time to test out what works and what doesn't. It helps me as a tournament host to try these methods and see how well it works in practice.

I'll decide by the end of the week what we're going to do with it.

The only problem with pools before doubles is lack of warmup time before singles pools, as doubles is usually how i warm up for singles, however after reading it further it seems everyone makes it past pools and its just for seeding so warm ups aren't exactly necessary so I'm ok with that, pools for doubles sounds fun too. :)

Edit: Time could be a problem if we do singles AND doubles pools.. Actually nvm, we'd be ok woz is awesome at running tournies.

Anyone from Jersey City going? I want to go to this but I need a ride to there and back home. Anyone willing to lend Jersey City's favorite Ganon a ride to this?

Well, I was on vacation last week so I couldn't come in b4 the new sechule went up to tell them I couldn't work on saturday. The only way I can come is if I'm able to get somebody to replace me on saturday. And to tell you the truth I'm new there so I don't really know anybody. Also If I'm somehow able to do that I've only got a one way ride from my dad so I got to see if my friends can drive me the other way back.
