I actually had a reason to vote for him (btw Chill, my vote on Ronike was for fun, and my vote on spam_master was meant for mask man). He seems new because in every post he seems to mention that he's gonna bandwagon someone. I'll unvote if he improves his game though, because his role hint seems to imply that he's town.

I think that smashman is the best person we can vote for at this point in time. Just look at how he played in the other mafia game.

People were suspicious of him, so he asked the cop to investigate him, and wanted the cop to reveal his own role in order to clear smashman's name. Then, when people pointed out that doing this would be unbelievably stupid, smashman revealed his own role as a doctor. No matter what his allegiance, that makes no sense. If he was town, and actually a doctor, he'll probably get killed that night anyway. If he was town, and not actually a doctor, he'll probably get killed because the mafia will believe him. And if he's actually mafia, everybody will assume he's mafia when he doesn't get killed by them at night.

In The Thing, he risked his own life by running into a burning room to save someone who had been shot in the head. Not surprisingly, the person with the hole in their head was not alive, and smashman died after the ceiling collapsed on him.

So, if he's town in this game, we won't be losing much by lynching him. If he's mafia, we'll have reduced their numbers by one.

Wow. Voting on somebody for something they did in another game is just stupid, and I am pretty stupid or at least I am stupid in forum games for some reason(haven't figured out why though).

At this stage, everybody is simply making blind stabs, hoping they provoke some kind of response from a mafia member.

My vote, at least, has some type of reasoning behind it, even if that reasoning isn't directly related to the games.

I figure that if we kill off a townie who would have acted idiotically anyway, that's much preferable to killing someone who would have played intelligently. If you happen to be mafia, all the better.

I'd much rather be sure of killing a mafia member than kill you, but at this point, that's not possible.

your reasonning freaking sucks for lack of sutable stronger words...i don't see how the hell you can reason that just b/c he may have done stupid things in other games, that gives you the right to lynch him or at least try...thats like putting someone in jail as soon as they got out of jail just because you think he will do something bad again...while this may be the case it is not always true and he deserves a second chance...

Well, I don't know why you include me in that group, as I wasn't even playing at the time.

However, even if I had been, I don't think I would have tried to save you. Somebody who acts without thinking, as you seem to do, is more hindrance than help in these types of games.

Although I agree that we need to wait.

I'm not suspicious of Mediocre at all, however. His plan is extreme. Very extreme. I don't think we should do it. Unless smashman is the doctor/cop and roleclaims it like he did before, he cannot cripple us. And if he is, then killing him early would only **** us over more.

I can see mediocre's line of thinking, however i do not agree with it. Killing off the least valuable player when there is no idea of who may be mafia is a good idea after much discussion, right off the bat however is not. Also Smashman may not be the best mafia player out there but he's not a hinderance, with all these new people playing this game there is a good chance that one of them is far worse than him. I can see your line of thought so i can tell you're not just mafia trying to get someone lynched fast (or rather, you aren't MORE suspicous OR LESS suspicious because of your post) but i disagree with this plan.

I agree that my reasoning isn't very good, but I challenge you to find any other post in here with any kind of reasoning to back it up.

Until I notice somebody doing something suspicious, I think smashman is the best vote I can make. Once I do notice somebody acting suspicious, I will absolutely change my vote. For now, I'll simply vote for the member I consider least valuable to the town, and that's smashman.

I agree that it would be stupid to immediately lynch smashman. Obviously, it's preferable to wait and hope a better option comes up. Right now, however, smashman seems like the best choice.

Furthermore, I don't see how it's scummy to back up your vote with some kind of reasoning when everybody else is simply making wild guesses. I could see a mafia member doing it, but I could just as well see a townie doing it. I don't really see it as any reason to point fingers, even if I was experienced at mafia games. I also don't see any purpose behind the random votes coming from everybody else - a vote or two without any reasoning behind it isn't going to cause any kind of worthwhile reaction.

Of course, my vote for smashman didn't cause any kind of worthwhile reaction either.

For now, I'm sticking to my vote. I'm not really expecting anybody else to vote for smashman right now, and would be disappointed if he got lynched anytime soon. We definitely need to deliberate more; I'm simply presenting smashman as a viable option if nobody suspicious turns up.

well, I think what ronike is trying to say is that even if you find smashman incredibly scummy. Don't bring it up just yet. Let there be time for lots of discussion, and you can bring up your points later. Who knows, then other people might agree with you as well. To be so steadfast in your vote really isn't exactly the best idea at the beginning of the day 1.
