That's the point of the list. It keeps people motivated to improve, and creates a competitive atmosphere in the community.

So I really wanna make a rankings for the tri-state. I'm looking for a couple of panelists to do it with me that will be representative of each smash scene. Someone from NYC, someone from philly, and someone from NJ. Also, its best if not everyone is isn't from the same crew.

Vanz, to be honest, I feel like Reno is kinda right. He consistently beats Scar now, and has been beating eggm. He is sorta back and forth with you, and loses to HBK. He probably
deserves to be right under HBK at this point.

But Reno it definitely is a difficult decision to make, and its not like your placement was a gross mistake, its rather close between you guys. Anyway, it doesnt really matter, that was just one persons opinion, and things will change once results are more carefully looked at and records between players are more closely considered.

So far it looks like the panel is going to be Vanz, Scar, and HBK. Anyone else wanna jump in? A swat member maybe, like alukard?

he's beaten twice in tournament before.. two times. i won the last time though. he has beaten eggm with sheik. but so have i and teczero eggm just isn't playing that match up properly at all/ not camping. he does beat scar quite a bit. but then he lost to skler.

idk, i'm pretty sure i agree with my list.. but that's just my opinion. in a few hours, i will be playing brawl.

This list seems pretty accurate to me. Although I don't necessarily agree with Tehspammerer being on there. Since he hasn't been to many tournaments. Reno would be a bit higher depending on how far back it goes too. If its only like 1 month then yah but if its 3 or 4 then no.

Yeah we would have a nice discussion. We'll have to do it on AIM, JFox is the leader.. we could prob have a respectable list by the end of the week but again I want to wait for like one more tourney, just to make sure the list is as current as possible.

I might put Eggm above Reno just b/c he's more consistent, I could see Reno having off days more frequently than Eggmaster, but we'll figure it out.

It seems like everyone is being very critical of everyone else based on recent performance in tourney. As good as Eggm is, if he doesn't perform well, he needs to drop down until he starts doing better in tournament again. Even he will say that its very frustrating to give a melee vet who has been on top an automatic placement above the rest for past performances that may be out dated. In other words, I think Reno deserves a spot above Eggm because he's earned it recently, plain and simple. (thats just my opinion, that doesn't mean that is how things will turn out for the final list)

I have a couple of other concerns about how we will end up placing certain people. For example, DJ in tri-state vs out of tri-state is far is like two different players. Also inactive players, or people that just never enter. For example, Hazzard never seems to enter singles, so I don't know how he should be ranked. Same with Tec0. Spam is just plain inactive as hell.

Anyway, check back on this thread later and I will have come up with a means and date/time for us to begin preliminary discussion.

Jfox loves me so much he thinks Im a tune. Tec0 might be able to get on the list, hes been to at least 3 tournies since the first circuit event. I dnt know how far you plan on going back though. I agree with Scar though, Jfox you should just be a panalist as well

sheesh i just saw this .... also i been getting top 8 in every freaking tourney ... i'm sry but i out placed g$ djn sensei pakman and hazz at spawns tourney ... at my events ... basically everything ... i think pakman out placed me once when he went on angry luigi mode and beat vanz twice and almost beat jman lol

but yea i'm like hurt i'm not 10 lol

Lol there's no list set in stone Alu, thats why hopefully you, and some other people will be able to finalize a list. So theres no need to be hurt son, you could still easily be top 10.! Your Sheiks beast anyway, although I prefer you play Marth.

alukard, don't fret, none of what's been said so far really matters. This is just what people think off the top of their heads. Once we take a look tourney results, stuff like that will be corrected for.

i don't get whats wrong with vanz being a panelist. I don't even plan on giving input really, just supplying guidelines and tourney results. Vanz is way better at this game, and has a better grasp of who is actually good. I just see that people **** me, and that's about it.

Its not as much about placement as it is about who you beat and who you lose to. Like I have a sheik and falco problem but I generally don't lose to randoms. My most recent losses were ONLY to people ahead of me on that list (and a set to DJN in pools).

I beat Sensei on Saturday (close as hell too). But my only tournament losses recently were Tope, Vanz, Jman (at like EVERY tournament), Cactuar, M2K, HBK and Eggm.

I know Javier tore apart a bunch of people at SPOC and should at least be considered for this list.

My recent notable wins were Sensei, Thorn (in pools), G$(played young link), Mogwai, Javier, and if you wanna go a few months back Vanz.

I have had two close sets with HBK recently.

Point being, losing to people below you and beating better people should hold more weight than tournament placements.
