With this system, I click one link, and then check the page for the bright red Melee, and I've found my tournament. With subforums, I'd have to click twice. I'd also have to open up multiple tabs if I want to look for Melee+Brawl events as well, while with the colors I can simply open up one page and it's all there.I say give me some good reasons. Because its not.
In counterpoint:
1. Mods should be able to edit tags just as easily as they could move threads (easier, in fact, as they don't have to select a forum to move it to from a big list).
2. Melee+Brawl events having a thread in each subforum would make it overall more difficult for the TOs and the mods to manage, your dislike of those awful Brawl-playing infidels notwithstanding. Melee+Brawl threads are usually all filled with Melee posts anyway.
3. How is all the tournaments being on one page "more separated?" Why is this even an issue? Newbs can read, too; they can tell that the colors are there to specify the games the threads correspond to. You make it sound like they'll get all befuddled like some guy in a "has this ever happened to you?" segment of an infomercial and go into a fit.
The only real argument against it would be that it's easier for TOs to just ignore the heading when posting than it is for them to post their thread in the wrong subforum, but if they do that it's just straight-up laziness on their part. It's right next to the title.
I also think it looks pretty nice.
