Yup

He absolutely dominated 3.02 in France, where the only three players he lost sets to were amsa, prof pro, and mahie (in pools for Mahie, so basically no French player has forced Zen into losers brackets yet)

I heard he was first on Anther's netplay ladder for a while, but since I don't use netplay myself I can only spread rumors haha

But then 3.5 hit and he spent his time on smash wii u and melee instead. Leon took his spot : he's lost sets to Charby, Mahie and myself, but has only placed first except once, at hf.lan 8, where he lost to Ice and Leffen and took 3rd.

But now Zen seems to be back into PM, as strong as he was when he left it.

I was the closest from being the first French player to take a set off of him, who knows ? It might happen soon ;D

I personally disagree. Consistency in this game is super hard to keep up. Lots of variables that come into taking sets over top players. Are you on point? Are they? Did they figure out certain habits? Did they fix a few of theirs?

Top level smash is one the most fun ive had in a competitive scene in the sense its quickly evolving if both players are good at adapting.

Keep up the good work in Texas SB.

Side note @ KayB im unsure you have to make a whole new thread as long as there are not a whole lot of balance updates. Can also make sub tabs for each character for the recently new content. Ie Sonic 3.5 / Sonic 3.6.

Would allow to see the progression of each player throughout the progression of patches as well. Unsure if this would be easier to just build up from the 3.5 content you have or just start fresh with a new 3.6 list. Unsure rebuilding a whole new thread due to olimar getting a recovery and new stages possibly being added to competitive play.

Do you remember playing my Ness at Shots Fired? You were hella good, probably the most solid Luigi player I've faced.

I can't really say much about 3.6, but I do think this thread doesn't require a new iteration for it. The jump from 3.0 to 3.5 was huge and included a wildly different design philosophy, whereas 3.6's balance-related changes are more or less minor tweaks that continue on that trend but nothing nearly as significant as in 3.5. I don't expect to see characters with significantly different top 5s.

& yeah I was just really sad yesterday thanks @ Venom_909 and @Umbreon for the support. I need more datapoints to make a statement like that lol.

Trust me i know the feels. Ill go from 3-0ing ipk to losing to 2jar / lobo a few events down the line.. Figued out who im sticking with as far as mains. Im starting to really put some time and work into the game and hope to make it out in August to play Texas <3 Gotta get some games in then.

ok so basically what happened is i picked up Red 1 (hero of time) from the airport, we played and and had fun and then picked up ipk and stauffy and bec got home from work, and me and ipk just didnt play anyone for a while. so i played ipk late friday night and i was like 4 stock @ 160 vs his last stock at 0 and i was like if i 4 stock you ima kick you out of my room you sandbagging ****** so he killed me and i 3 stocked him at 20%. and i was like wow youre ****ing horrible like as a joke and unplugged my controller and dipped just to troll him since he was obviously screwing off. me and ipk are both just comfortable with trash talk, i been going into his stream for the last month and we just trash talk each other the whole time for funsies. but then like an hour later i was like actually play me for a few, and we went like 2-2 in marth vs lucario, although i blatantly didnt deserve to win one of them because i got a lol-tastic stage spike on him with marth fair on YS, and then i won 2-0 with sheik and those looked like real games. ipk is obviously godlike but we have personalities that just kinda get along so we had fun with it.

Yeah hes got some marth MU exp from playing my 2 week old marth since i decided to main him.

Since okami left we only have Oats as a sheik whos solid but assuming not you caliber of player.

Watching you in teams was super fun.

I'm not upset about losing to Junebug, just sad that I lost to Ripple despite being like 3-0 or 5-0 or something against him previously (not ****-talking Ripple or anything, I gave him props and congratulated him and everything, just still sad). There were also a bunch of players that placed higher than me that I wanted to play (IPK/Axe) or felt like I would beat (Dizzy/Luck/HeroofTime). Just how the bracket turned out :\

So I got to Snake ditto Azer and Dong at Aftershock. That MU is super fun. I went pretty even with Dong in friendlies and Azer beat me 3-1 in a money match, so props to him for keeping my ego in check. I had my doubts, but Azer has improved massively since I last saw him on stream.

I just wish we'd gotten those matches recorded or had more time to talk. I barely ever get to play against other Snake mains.

Yeah, the only good Ness I think we possibly have anywhere nearby is Tetraflora and iirc she hasn't come to Ohio in a long time.

Zekflop beat me and S_F3, making two pretty big upsets, and he got 3rd so mad props to him.
I beat S_F3 for the first time as well, making him place 7th, his worst place as of yet.

After going to Aftershock, I'm convinced that no one out there is using ZSS in the way that I'm doing. Played a bit with Ripple and he told me that there were things that I was doing that he'd be scared of if Oro?! picked up on and utilized. Texas players were pretty impressed by my play as well. Don't wanna pat myself on the back too hard, but it's nice to hear that other regions don't think I'm full of hot air when I say ZSS is top 10 material.

Whether or not I'm the best ZSS player is debatable, but I can say without a doubt that I play the most optimized and creative ZSS out of anyone out there. My mission was to incept the seed at Aftershock that ZSS's recovery was busted and I was able to convince almost everyone that watched me or I played that that was the case including Ripple, Junebug, Pink Fresh, Sethlon, Lunchables, and tons of other Texas and Oklahoma players.

Now I just gotta stop losing to spacies so bad and I'm solid, lol.

Also, after seeing that new Olimar recovery, you can bet that me and Shokio are gonna be pushing that little dude to his limits in the next patch. Incoming best two Olimars in the world.

Oro is pretty much undisputed #1. Look at his results, watch his vids.

Leffen is a better player than me but I struggle to call him a better zero suit. He does good player stuff and wins, but doesn't seem to have as good an understanding of ZSS as a character. I'd put me and Leffen interchangeable at 2/3, with a slight edge on leffen because he's ****ing leffen.
