Do we have to remember Dr. Mario...it's almost as bad as Pink Gold Peach.

Who has no point of existence...at least Metal Mario was in Super Mario 64.
Dr. Mario just fits the role of a costume in my opinion, nothing more than that though for the sake of examples, both Dr. Mario and Young Link are examples of literal clone characters therefore I feel that if someone's going to complain about the whole ZSS and Shiek being separate characters from Zelda and Samus this time, I think they should consider that at the very least ZSS plays nothing like Samus and Shiek plays nothing like Zelda as opposed to Dr. Mario who is literally the same character as Mario just with different stats, same goes for Young Link.

By the way for those who happen to main Young Link and/or Dr. Mario that's absolutely fine I respect your decision, this is just my personal view towards both characters.

As most of us already know, it is clear that Toad is not playable in SSB4... so our hopes lie on SSB5, which is about six years away from now... on Nintendo's inevitable next home console.

What do we want Nintendo to do with Toad in the meantime? First, let's look at what's happened with Toad in the years between Melee (2001) and Brawl (2005, planning; 2007, completed).

2002 - Super Mario Sunshine
Toads who accompany Peach are no longer just generic Toads with red spots and blue vests. They are now Red Toad (presumed to be THE Toad), Blue Toad, Yellow Toad, Green Toad, and Purple Toad. They are not the Toad Brigade we know and love just yet... Toadsworth also debuts in this game.

2002 - Mario Party 4
Toad is still not playable in a Mario Party game. He is still a host, though.

2003 - Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
Toad is still not playable in a Mario Golf game.

2003 - Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Toad is now an unlockable character... but it is to keep Toadette a surprise. Toadette debuts in this game.

2003 - Mario Party 5
Toad is finally a playable character in a Mario Party game.

2003 - Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Toad is playable only in the intro (at Mario's house). He doesn't have much of a role in the storyline beyond that.

Paper Mario still has partners but he does not have a Toad partner, unfortunately.

2004 - Mario Party 6
Toad is still playable in a Mario Party game... and Toadette joins the party!

2004 - Super Mario 64 DS
Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi are now playable alongside Mario but Toad is still a NPC who gives out Stars.

2005 - Mario Superstar Baseball
Toad is a playable character but he is not a team captain. Toadette and Toadsworth are also playable.

Peach finally has her own game! Toad is playable in the mini-games.

Toad is still playable in a Mario Kart game.

2005 - Super Mario Strikers

2005 - Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Toad himself isn't in the game but Toadsworth and generic Toads are.

Toads aren't running Toad Houses because generic Toads aren't in the game. Toadsworth runs the Toad Houses.

2006 - Mario Hoops 3-on-3

Baby Wario and Baby DK debut in this game. Now, the Mario Big Eight all have baby versions... except there is no Baby Toad.

2007 - Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Toad is not playable.

2007 - Mario Party DS
Toad and Toadette are still playable.

Next, let's take a look at what Nintendo has done with Toad in the games between Brawl (2008) and SSB4 (2012, planning; 2014, completed).

2008 - Mario Kart Wii
Toad and Toadette are still playable.

2008 - Mario Super Sluggers

Square Enix makes another Mario sports game... and Toad is now playable! in fact, he is the only Mario newcomer (the others are Mii and Slime).

2011 - Super Mario 3D Land
Toads run the Toad Houses. Unfortunately, Toad is not playable even though Tanooki Toads are seen at the end.

2011 - Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Toad is still not playable.

2011 - Mario Kart 7
Toad is still playable... and he finally gets his own circuit.

2012 - Mario Party 9
Toad is still playable... but Toadette is cut.

2012 - Mario Tennis Open
Toad is still not playable.

2012 - New Super Mario Bros. 2

2012 - New Super Mario Bros. U

Toad is still not playable.

2013 - Super Mario 3D World

2013 - Mario Party: Island Tour
Toad is still playable... and Toadette is still not playable.

2014 - Mario Golf: World Tour
Toad is finally playable in a Mario Golf game for the first time ever! Not only that but Toadette is also playable!

2014 - Mario Kart 8
Toad and Toadette are still playable.

Basically what Toad needs is another big break like he had with New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario 3D World... which is why I have been advocating for Nintendo to make Toad's own game for years... and if Nintendo doesn't do that, at least keep Toad playable in the main games (this is Plan B). It would also help if Nintendo makes more characters based on Toad like Toadsworth and Toadette... maybe Baby Toad and "Watoad" (needs a better name but I would like him to be based on Poison Mushrooms with skulls)... But ultimately, I want Nintendo to give Toad unique abilities in the main games that Mario/Luigi/Peach/Rosalina/Yoshi couldn't logically perform... so Sakurai would finally notice Toad's moveset potential.

I don't get how it's clear he's not going to be in. IMHO I think that's just losing hope too eaely, because yeah 6 is kinda alot, but pokemon's going to have like 8, Zelda with 6, so it's not that farfetched. Sakurai hasn't really outright deconfirmed him either. No "pic of the day. Once again, Toad will protect Peach!" etc
For the most part though I agree with your post cx.

and your basing this on what?
Basing it on the fact that Pokemon might have Pikachu, Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Greninja, Mewtwo, and Jiggs, and Zelda might have Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Shiek, Ganondorf, and a newcomer.

2006 - Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis
Mini Toad toys debut in this game and they are playable, too.

2006 - Yoshi's Island DS
Baby Wario and Baby DK debut in this game. Now, the Mario Big Eight all have baby versions... except there is no Baby Toad.

2007 - Super Paper Mario
Paper Luigi, Paper Peach, and Paper Bowser join Paper Mario in his latest adventure... but Paper Toad is left behind in the Mushroom Kingdom.

2007 - Mario Strikers Charged
Toads are still team players. Toad is still not a team captain.

2007 - Mario Party 8
Toad and Toadette are still playable characters.

2007 - Super Mario Galaxy
The five Toads in Super Mario Sunshine are now known as the Toad Brigade. Red Toad is now Captain Toad.

Toad, Toadette, and Toadsworth are still playable. Toad is still not a team captain.

2009 - Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Toadsworth still plays a major supporting role alongside with a bunch of generic Toads who are NPCs.

2009 - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!
Mini Toad toys are still playable.

2009 - Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Toad is still not playable.

2009 - New Super Mario Bros. Wii
For the first time in 21 years (after SMB2), Toad's big break finally happens! Blue Toad and Yellow Toad are playable in a main Mario game.

2010 - Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Toad Brigade returns but the game still lacks a playable Toad.

2010 - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!
Mini Toad toys are still playable but they no longer sport red spots... they now have blue spots.

2010 - Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition
Younger generations of gamers get a chance to play SMB2.

2010 - Mario Sports Mix

Generic Toads replace Toadsworth at the Toad Houses. Toad is still not playable, though.

2012 - Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Paper Mario no longer have partners... so there is no Toad partner... but Toads are everywhere.

2012 - New Super Mario Bros. U
Blue Toad and Yellow Toad return as playable characters.

2013 - Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Generic Toads that helped out Luigi in the original game are replaced with the Toad Brigade. Toads are no longer save points but they are important NPCs that help move the story.

2013 - Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move
Mini Toad toys are still playable and are still based on Blue Toad.

2013 - New Super Luigi U
Blue Toad and Yellow Toad return as playable characters.

2013 - Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Toadsworth is still a major supporting character... and generic Toads are still NPCs.

2013 - Mario Kart Arcade GP DX
Toad now has Blue Toad as an alternate costume.

2013 - Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Toad is still not playable.

2013 - Super Mario 3D World
Toad's next big break! Blue Toad is playable in the main game and Captain Toad has his own levels. Blue Toad inherits THE Toad's speed from SMB2. Unfortunately, it was also Rosalina's big break...

Good points there, but Mario Kart 8 is actually pretty big for Toad (at least in my opinion.) For the first time (in forever, you Frozen people) Toad has a new nitro course (Toad Harbor/Harbour) and a returning retro course (Toad's Turnpike). For the same character to have two courses in a Mario kart game is pretty good, considering how huge the roster is (then again, I hope we won't be seeing Pink Gold Peach Circuit any time soon.)

Also, as I mentioned before, Toads are everywhere. He even has his own team: Toad, Mushroom Powered. I don't know how major or minor that is, but it's nice that Nintendo put some thought into it like that.

But Toad needs to be more than a referee or adviser if he's gonna be recognized more. He needs to be in those tennis games, start playing in the Olympics, and join Mario and Luigi on their adventures. That's what Toad needs. Either that or...

Captain Toad gets his own spin-off series or game. Literally every other Mario big eight has one. Besides, Nintendo's already considering doing more with him. They just need proof people actually appreciated his levels in Super Mario 3D World.

Basing it on the fact that Pokemon might have Pikachu, Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Greninja, Mewtwo, and Jiggs, and Zelda might have Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Shiek, Ganondorf, and a newcomer.
it doesnt seem likely that squirtle and ivsaur will return and i seriously doubt zelda will be getting a new comer this time round the chances of any of that happening aren't overly good

Just because he announced Charizard separately doesn't lower Squirtle's and Ivysaur's chances; it would had been overboard to announce SEVEN characters in total. Zelda getting a newcomer is up in the air, but it's chances haven't gotten lower or higher, because they only made Sheik seperate. They're kinda up in the air; since nothing has negatively affected them.

I can see Pokemon, Mario and Zelda each getting 6 characters, 7 at the absolute most, but that's very unlikely in my opinion. 8 seems highly implausible.

I can see Mario getting six honestly.

I'm just not convinced the 6th won't be Bowser Jr. or in the case of DLC occurring; a Melee pack with Dr. Mario.

Naturally I hope I'm wrong.

So, just out of curiosity. what would people think if Toad got in, but he was a Luigi-esque character clone whose moveset derived from the Bros and Peach? Would you be satisfied?

Personally, I'd be down with that.

I honestly think it makes more sense for Sakurai to include every playable character from 3D World. Why add a second villain when there's still a main-series playable character to worry about?

Toad's status as a special move makes him seem like Sakurai doesn't see him as playable material (or maybe that's just what he wants us to think!), leading many to believe him to be less likely, if they didn't already consider him de confirmed due to him being an attack. I still think he's possible in the form of a Blue Toad or Captain Toad. Or, better yet, Peach's Standard Special is changed to Toadsworth (or preferably, a non-meatshield, but at least Toadsworth would probably actually do that sort of thing). Toad is certainly more important to the series than Bowser Jr., he has an incredible amount of seniority, and if I'm not mistaken, he's more requested and popular. Furthermore, Junior seems to be becoming less important as of late. He wasn't in 3D World and he hasn't yet been revealed to be in Mario Kart 8.

A combination clone you say? Like Veggies and Spores(which to be fair IS Toad anyway) from Peach and Super Jump/Luigi Missile(style thing) from the bros.?

I'd be incredibly down with that since prior to us getting Peach back in Melee I'd considered Toad flinging the veggies anyway. Honestly semi clones don't bother me that much. I'm sure Toad would feel far different to either the Princess or the Brothers than either Falco or even Lucas did in comparison to Fox and Ness.

B: Ice Ball. Behaves like it does in the NSMB series.

Up B: Either Super Jump or Propellor Block/Mushroom.

Side B: Golden Mushroom or something else Mario Kart related. If Wario doesn't have the Bike anymore, the actual Kart could work.

Down B: Mushroom Block? Potion?

Final Smash: ?

Hmmm. Actually what would you guys have for a Toad moveset?

Since Rosalina turned up no one's really done any theoretical moveset ideas for kicks.
This post just had me thinking that if they could imagine Rosalina doing stuff (let's take a moment to remember her general uselessness in Super Mario Galaxy 1, and by that I mean the fact she practically did nothing except shielding when you were jumping on her and the thing at the end when she created a passage for Mario), there's no way they couldn't make something unique for Toad.

Ideas I had for a recovery, which I'm not sure I have seen on this thread were the propeller hat, the super jump (or squat jump) and my favorite : the doors from subcon. Toad would enter a door and disappear, and then reappear at an angle from another door. Super Mario Bros 2 is my favorite game, lol. I also thought about simply creating a mushroom under him and bouncing from it (hello Mario Sports Mix). For a Side B, I imagine something like Fox illusion, but more Toad like (involving mushrooms or the golden mushroom) with much more strength than for the spacies. Down B was another turnip pull/toss for me, though I wouldn't really like it if he had something to do with a POW block (now unlikely seeing as it's an item). For his B move he can have his spores / a projectile / a block from Wario's Wood.

It's hard coming up with a moveset for him, he has appeared in so many games over the year. Plus he's the item man, you can explore other aspects of the Mario series thanks to him, etc...

Kicks, you say? :awesome:

Frankly, the only thing Toad could do that Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Rosalina couldn't do is stack up monsters and carry them all at once... just like in Wario's Woods... sure, Wario could work but he doesn't do any of those in Smash... just like how Rosalina has an unique moveset from Galaxy games when it was actually Mario who did them. Thankfully, this is the one thing that can be completely unique to Toad in Smash that is actually in-character... even if it seems out of character... just like what Toad's Brawl trophy said about his rumored superhuman strength.

Maybe Toad could dispel the rumor by fighting opponents with only one free arm while he is balancing a stack of monsters with the other arm... for balance's sake, let's say Toad could have a maximum of three Kirby-sized monsters in his stack at a time... there are seven different types of monsters in Wario's Woods but they all have same properties... so they appear in a random order since they all deal the same amount of damage and knockback like King Dedede's Waddle Dees used to do in Brawl.

Toad could use his free arm to take a monster from the stack and put it in front of Toad so he can kick it across the stage... hell, let's make Toad more of a bad@$$ by having him do a spinning kick on a monster while balancing the stack in the air... use monsters as projectiles like how King Dedede used to throw Waddle Dees in Brawl.

Toad could instantly get on top of the stack like in Wario's Woods... but when he gets on top, he could either jump off and do his Propeller recovery... or he could just pick up monsters SMB2-style and throw them at his opponents.

Of course, Toad could just pick up an opponent and throw them at another opponent SMB2-style if he does not have the stack with him. The bullied becomes the bully... Peach used Toad as a human shield and other characters used Toad as a punching bag while Peach held him... and Toad, in turn, uses Peach and other characters as human projectiles.

B: Monster Time
What is Monster Time? Why, that's the time in Wario's Woods where Pidgit appears above Toad and drops monsters. So, in Smash, pressing the button three times will make Pidgit drop three random monsters onto Toad's hand. Toad can carry up to three monsters at a time (for the sake of balance).

Toad runs very fast with no monsters... and he runs a bit slower with one monster and very slow with three monsters (like Donkey Kong slow when he's carrying an opponent).

Toad can still jump when he's carrying monsters but he cannot double jump with them.

Side+B: Punt
Yeah, I know the name is just as original as Jigglypuff's Side+B move... but it fits.

When Toad is carrying a stack of monsters, doing Side+B would make Toad take one monster off the stack and place it in front of him and then Toad kicks it.

If Toad isn't carrying monsters, he can still kick opponents. Though, it is even more satisfying to punt the opponent he is carrying.

Use Monster Time to ensure that the opponent doesn't escape Toad's grip... so when the opponent is sandwiched between Toad's hand and a monster, Toad can punt the opponent off the stage and then immediately punt a monster toward the opponent to prevent recovery.

Up+B: Up and Away
This move changes depends on whether Toad is carrying or not.

If Toad is carrying a stack of monsters, Toad would instantly get on top of the stack. From the top, Toad can just use the Propeller Mushroom to fly up (since he isn't carrying anything).

If Toad is carrying an opponent, Toad pretty much forces the opponent to use their own Up+B move and he is holding onto the recovering opponent. Just don't use it on Yoshi or Jigglypuff unless you want eggs or lullabies.

If Toad is not carrying a stack of monsters nor is he carrying an opponent, he will simply use the Propeller Mushroom. Oh, yeah, if he's propelling away, pressing Down would make Toad stall-then-fall and he drills back down. This can deliver a Meteor Smash.

Down+B: Pick Up
Straight from SMB2, if Toad isn't carrying a stack of monsters... Toad will jump on top of an opponent and immediately pick them up... pressing Side+B will make Toad punt the opponent... but Toad can just throw them off stage or at other opponents with the A button.

Don't worry though, Toad won't kick away monsters if you press the A button... that only works with opponents. So Toad can look bad@$$ when he's fighting with one hand tied to his back (figuratively speaking).

Let's fake out other players by making them think Toad is only doing his stall-then-fall ground pound attack with Aerial Down+A when he's actually attempting to pick them up with Down+B. So those maining Toad should mix up Aerial Down+A and Down+B.

Oh... if Toad is carrying a stack of monsters, pressing Down+B would have Toad punt the monster at the bottom of the stack but then that monster gets back on top of the stack. It's another way to fake out players who might think Toad was simply kicking them away with Side+B... but monsters won't get very far with Down+B like they would with Side+B. Too bad, Toad cannot do this with opponents or players would complain that Toad is broken.

Final Smash: Bomb Time
Expecting Waluigi Time? Too bad. Bomb Time! :troll:

Seriously though, that was the name given in the SNES manual (yes, I still have it). Toad calls for his friends, Birdo and Wanda, to assist him. Birdo appears inside a box on the top right corner just like in Wario's Woods. Birdo snaps her fingers and Wanda appears at the top of the screen. Wanda flutters above the stage, making colorful bombs appear out of thin air. Dozens of bombs drop from the sky like Bob-ombs do during Sudden Death matches. Of course, only Toad is immune to the explosions during Bomb Time.

Toad has me in stitches now, after seeing Rosalina in action. But I really like Arcadenik's moveset idea.

I had some ideas for him to be somewhat of a "form-changer" by utilizing powerups which change his moveset a bit (Think a bit like CustomNavi-mechanic from MegaMan Battle Network), but I noticed it'd make not much original. Nevertheless I really think he needs to have the whole "powerup provider/using them" in his moveset.

Unless, what if he took page from Villager's/Megaman.EXE's book and had some kind of a "effect stealing" move? Maybe if depending on the enemy and the type of attack they use on him, he'd steal an element from them into himself and then he'd produce out a powerup that is one of the items in the game? Or even change his attribute type and attack effects entirely. I think something like mix of Marth's/Toad Counter meets Kirby's Inhale Meets Items/Diddy's Banana Peel.

Like if hit by Mario's Fireball, Toad would use B to counter like he's now, throwing off spores. But he then absorbs the fire inside his hat and glows. He can now counter with fiery spores or can choose to apply spores on himself to have a fiery attribute to him, essentially "powering up" with Fire Flower. (Has higher launch power potential than normal attacks, but certain attacks suffer with lower damage potential)

Maybe Pressing down B has him "eject" the powerup and throw a chest on the enemy. It can be opened which contains the corresponding item inside. Only one chest can be in the screen at time.

Freezing attacks make him turn icy (Ice Flower or Penguin Suit) and slash attacks lets him get the Propeller Hat (which he could use as a nice repeating jab by spinning the propellers). Electric's bit tricky (maybe Blue Shell?) and less common "Aura" and Darkness... hmm.

But you get my idea? It'd make Toad very fun character to play as IMO.

Yeah, it does. I would like a race course based on Wario's Woods in Mario Kart... complete with monsters and Thwomps inside hollow trees... fairies dropping bombs and coins... and Pidgits flying on carpets across the sky... and there are two big TV screens showing Wario and Birdo overseeing the woods.

Unfortunately, it's not nearly as popular as Galaxy or even the Mario and Luigi series. I mean, do you see Super Princess Peach getting a ton of references?

No.

Which is a shame because if it did, Toad would probably be a free man. Unless it turns out to be her Final Smash this time round.

Okay, so I have to do it... a Toad moveset.

B - Toad Bash. He slams his head forward on the ground, immediately bouncing backward and smashing the ground behind him as well. It can be charged or chained. Chaining is much like DK's ground pound (but with a weird alternating pattern of forward and backward plus an overhead hitbox while between positions), while you can charge it for a massively powerful forward slam that sends him rolling backward from the bigger bounce.
Up B - Propeller Hat. Seems like the most logical choice, and it's just plain fun. The alternative is an actual Propeller Block for his Up B, which he then discards and is reusable by anyone.
Down B - Spore Counter. It's already in the game, and I'm lazy.
Side B - Golden Mushroom. He turns gold and blasts sideways (see Luigi's Green Missile and Pikachu's Skull Bash). Thing is, it meteor smashes the airborne foe, but bounces off of grounded foes and walls (still does damage, though)

Since Toad Movesets are the hip thing now....

B Moves:
VB = Lift/Full Drop: Toad pulls an object his size from the ground or directly in front of him. It could be a monster, a bomb, or rarely, a gem. Doing this multiple times causes the objects to stack over Toad, up to three. They come in three varying colors, but they mean nothing, damage-wise. Lining up at least one bomb and two other objects of the same color, however, will destroy them and guarantee you a diamond. Toad's running speed isn't hindered by holding objects, but his jump height is halved once you hit three. He holds onto the objects, even if he gets sent flying. The A button has Toad slam whatever the first thing he's got over his head straight down hard in front of him. Will a full stack of objects, VB will have Toad drop the whole stack instead of plucking a new object. The stack can be used as a barrier, a platform, or to prepare for...
NB = Kick: Toad does a small, fast, unassuming kick. It deals little damage, but has high horizontal knockback. If a dropped object, or item is directly in front of him,. he'll send it flying into enemies instead.
Object rules: Monster: Deals a small amount of damage, little knockback. Can't take much abuse before dying. Comparable to a Waddle Dee. Bomb: Explodes for enhanced range on impact. Can take a few more hits than the monsters. Otherwise comparable to Link's bombs. Gem: Impact causes it to explode in a slow scattering of gem-shards that multi-hit the impacted victim. (Toad goes "Woo-hoo!") Almost unbreakable, requires an attack of similar magnitude to stop. The final knockback is comparable to a fully charged Samus shot.
>B = Quick-Spin: Toad performs a quick spin attack. On the ground, it lasts about as long as the SMW spinjump sound effect (which plays, of course.) In the air, it's the shorter, NSMB air-spin. Naturally, it helpfully cuts your vertical momentum. It can be rapidly chained together to lengthen your hang-time. If a projectile hits Toad while he's spinning, he's reflect it. Physical attacks are still game, though, provided they they're of enough power to break through.
^B = Stack-Hop/Propeller-Block: If Toad has a stack of objects, he quickly clambers to the top to use them as a platform. This can be used in midair to essentially reset your jumps. (As a light character, Toad needs an effective recovery.) You can't get infinite jumps from pulling up objects from the past tower however, because it'll fall too fast. If he has no objects above his head, Toad pulls out a propeller box and uses it to ascend. If he gets hit, he'll drop the box and fall. Press down while flying to drill dive into enemies.

A Moves & Smashes:
Toad's A moves are all pretty traditional jabs and the like.
>Smash involves a headbutt.
^Smash involves a backflip kick.
VSmash has him perform a spinning kick, similar to his NB, but with more effort put into it.

Grab & Throw:
Toad grabs the enemy with both hands and holds them in front of him. His pummel has him kick the grabbed foe. Toad can't grab while he's got a stack.
>Throw causes Toad to toss the enemy up onto his head as if they were part of a stack. He can then throw them, though he throws them forward instead of straight down.
^Throw causes Toad to toss them in the air and then jump into them like they were a ? block.
<Throw has him throw them backwards over his head.
VThrow has him slam them on the ground directly in front of them, stunning them for a few seconds and setting them up for a Kick.

Taunts:
Taunt 1: Assumes the classic "another castle pose" while "nyah"-ing the opponents.
Taunt 2: Freaks out and runs in a small circle, panicking.
Taunt 3: Spins ridiculously fast while cheering, like when you tail-whip or star spin a toad in the 3D games. (Has a reflector effect, like Luigi's hitbox taunt.)

Final Smash: Monster Time: Wanda and Pidjit fly in. Wanda gives Toad a little high-five, and Pidjit knocks into the back of his head. They two then start erratically hovering over the stage, quickly dropping bombs and monsters respectively. Hitting a falling object damages a foe as if they were hit by a kicked object. Toad can go to the accumulated objects on the ground and kick or carry them together to form easy diamonds to smack around his foes with. After a short amount of time, Wanda and Pidjit start fighting, all the bombs, monsters, and diamonds that aren't currently held by Toad explode (dealing damage to anyone too close,) and the two helpers fly off.

Loss:

Victory 1: Toad yells "Sweet!" while jumping in the air and giving the peace sign.
Victory 2: Toad calls "I'm the best!" While posing dramatically.
Victory 3: Toad jumps a few times excitedly and then waves to the audience.

This takes some inspiration from Arcadenik's moveset, but I tried to make Toad less dependent on and restricted by Wario's Wood's moves. It's still the focus of his playstyle, but he has other techniques he can use instead of being Olimar-level reliant on his objects. Also, spinning, because I always seem to think of Toad spinning.

Last night, I had a wonderful dream where Nintendo was at E3 and announced Toad's own game for the Wii U. It was like The Adventures of Captain Toad because you played as Captain Toad, he cannot jump, and he had to navigate Zelda-like mazes... but it was somehow like Zelda 64 because Toad could automatically jump when you ran off the ledge to the other ledge across the gap... and there was something similar to the Z-Targeting mechanic where Toad could throw fireballs or iceballs at faraway enemies with accuracy... and Toad could stack up blocks and carry them around like in Wario's Woods to solve puzzles (certainly better and faster than pushing/pulling blocks)... and there were anti-gravity sections where Toad could walk on walls and ceilings. The world looked a lot like Subcon with hills with wavy patterns and red grass (that you could pull) scattered all over green grass... dammit, I wish Nintendo would make Toad's own game like that.

Still up Peach's dress.
Captain Toad should have his game discover the many myths from Mario-games and revisit those old worlds while at it, really.
Like Sarassaland? I'd actually be really excited to explore Princess Daisy's kingdom a bit more.

So today Nintendo announced they are doing a Skylanders/Disney Infinity style thing by releasing figures that are going to connect to certain Wii U games where you apparently 'raise' your character and customize parts. Mario was the only figurine shown but in doing so confirms this isn't a Mii only thing.

With Toad being one of the more prominent Nintendo characters I feel like he and the rest of the Mario crew are highly likely to be included as playable characters in future Wii U titles.

A lot of Toad movesets. I love the creativity, but I think it is important to remember, that he must feel like Toad. Sure he does do many things, bu the movesets always cater to the characters purpose in their games, much more so than specific abilities they may use once or twice (unless a huge mechanic)

Sakurai has been trying to make, literally, every announced character not seem like a character until reveal.
If anything this makes me more likely to think they are in.
Hell, it even makes me think that when he said 'the roster size may not be much bigger' was a lie, too. I just do not believe anything he does not outright say about characters

Anyone see the new Mushroom Kingdom U stage based off New Super Mario Bros. U?

Just wondering.
