Tingle or Waluigi?

We really don't know much about Waluigi, so he'd be a pretty hard character to implement.

yea strangely I thought the same when I first saw Waluigi, but guess what, they didn't turn out that way, but it would have been nice if they had a game like that that would rival Mario and Luigi

As far as him not seeming "capable of striking someone", the same could be said for someone like Peach or Yoshi. Even in Smash, they're not exactly good fighters, per say, but they're good characters who are in a fighting game.

Well Peach has at least a normal human frame and blessed vegetables, and Yoshi has a thick skull with feet built for jumping. Plus he carries Mario around. However all I see Tingle with is little trinkets and he's ******-like. ******* may have upper arm strength, but not when they float on balloons.

Waluigi at least has the physical capability, and might be slightly interesting in a tag team Wario fight. Wait a minute, someone stop me from arguing for Waluigi.

Kirby manages to punch and kick without actually having any kind of shoulder/arm/elbow/leg of any kind to speak of. You don't have to be a 6' average built human to throw punches and kicks. Tingle would probably just suffer from a wickedly short reach. Not to further push for a character I don't really support, just pointing out that physical build and motivation aren't really factors in smash.

I find operative conditioning works well.

True that. Good character confirmations cancel out bad ones (unless they're really THAT bad. . . and I know of no such character).

If I had to choose between Tingle and Waluigi, I'd say probably Waluigi, just so everyone can have fun kicking his *** in Brawl. Nonetheless, I do like Tingle more, but that Waluigi-bashing fun factor is just too good an opportunity to pass up. Who wouldn't like to take a swing at the purple-clothed Italian with the good ol' Homerun Bat, or incinerate him with your character's FS?

If I had my way, though, I wouldn't put either of them in. Bad character choices.

I don't mind Waluigi at all to be honest, but I'd rather he be a assist trophy since he hasn't appeared in any WarioWare games.

The way I see it, Tingle is just a recurring NPC throughout the Zelda series, and, as far as I know, has never played a role in the main plotline of a game. His own games would probably count as a separate series, but the main thing that cripples his chances is that those games weren't released worldwide and that Tingle is so god****ed hated in three fourths of the world.

Waluigi, however, is a playable character in a multitude of games, some of which are among Nintendo's all-time best selling games on the Gamecube and the Nintendo DS. So he's never been in a main platformer? I honestly doubt Nintendo cares. They probably think of the Mario sports games as legitimate as any other Mario game and I don't think they're going to act all elitist with their own games. If the game is popular enough, party game or not, chances are, we may see rep from it. Just look at WarioWare.

Besides, the Mario series is running out of main platformer reps, (basically only Bowser Jr.'s left) so they may have to expand to the Mario sub-series'. Out of all of them, the most popular Mario series aside from the platformers is undoubtably the Mario Kart series. Judging by sales, the next most popular series is, as much as it pains me to say it, the Mario Party series. The Mario Strikers games seem to be well on their way as well.

For these reasons, I say Waluigi actually has a fairly decent chance of getting in. Personally, I'd prefer him over Tingle anyway. Seeing Tingle fight is.....just.....plain....WIERD!!!

I'd say Tingle. He has more importance to Nintendo than Waluigi, since he has his own game (I don't consider Tingle's Balloon Fight to be a real game since it wasn't distributed widely enough for people to know about it other than looking in Wikipedia).

Waluigi was just to fill up the empty spot as Wario's partner in Mario Tennis and other Mario Party/Sports games.

Mario series still has Daisy (Super Mario Land), Wart, and the Koopalings (all 7 of them).
