Says the guy with a "Mewtwo for Smash 4" avatar AND signatureGuys, don't set yourselves up for disappointment again. Just let it go. Stop trying to make Mewtwo happen. It's not going to happen.
True. Its odd Sakurai didn't add the Ridley trophy in 3DS ver. Since the 3DS ver. takes place in the handheld games, we know Ridley appeared in one of those handheld Metroid games, such as 3DS's VC Metroid, and its remake Zero Mission, and maybe Fusion which that one is Ridley-X. So if Sakurai used the Other M ver. Ridley's trophey as player, stage boss, or some sort in the future, he still could have used the old/previous versions of Ridleys as trophies if possible. I do see Sakurai's planning something behind this trophy things...You're right, there is only this Impa trophy is SSB4, although it could simply be there because Skyward Impa is a Wii U trophy
However I think the lack of trophy for Ridley is more suspicious. Why would Sakurai forget Samus' biggest (literally) rival/enemy?
It might be me only, but I don't feel anything weird about that Mewtwo trophy though. It may look smooth than usual, but I think that's what Mewtwo supposed to be in the actual games, or in the anime movies? I might be mistaken, but Mewtwo in the Genosect movie was a bit calmer than the first Mewtwo movie. Maybe they're planning to use the recent movie's Mewtwo in some reasons? Sure, using the Melee/1st movie voice on Mega Mewtwo Y doesn't seem fitful, alongside with Mega Mewtwo X using the Genosect movie's female voice doesn't sound right, but I wouldn't think they'll just grunt like the leak said because that would be meaningless since Lucario can talk (actually he's using telepathy).Mewtwo getting in Smash Bros 4 would make me seriously happy. I just hope his design looks much better than his trophy.
Why do you even bother coming here if you think everything's over? Can't we at least enjoy dreaming before the game comes out? There are some hideous stuff that Wii U have and 3DS don't, as I do say 3DS still be in its imperfect form.Guys, don't set yourselves up for disappointment again. Just let it go. Stop trying to make Mewtwo happen. It's not going to happen.
Some people say Sakurai didn't make this game for fans but for his own self-satisfaction, which explains being too vague and wasted too much time. If that's true, man he gotta be a worst person ever...which I do not wanna believe though, I guess.Says the guy with a "Mewtwo for Smash 4" avatar AND signature
But seriously though, if he's not playable, not even as DLC, Sakurai wasted an perfect opportunity.
Whoa, slow down. I don't see how it was rude to ask a legitimate question. I (and apparently a few other people) were enjoying a certain topic when you popped in and told us not to talk about that anymore, so I was simply asking why you felt we shouldn't talk about it. Not only that but I tried to throw in some humor so as NOT to come off as rude and I even went on to FOLLOW YOUR SUGGESTION AND SWITCH TO THE OTHER TOPIC. I did everything in my power not to be rude while still asking the question that I honestly wasn't sure the answer to. And as for the orders thing, I've actually never listened to the audio, I was just running off of what other people said. I can't believe that you'd try to correct me on that just so you could say I was "wrong about something". I asked a question and you react like this is a flame war. Chill.Go back and listen to the audio. It's Master "Orders" and Crazy "Orders". There. We're both wrong about something now. Now can we maybe not get so rude next time?
That would honestly be pretty cool with me. Ness and Bowser Jr are my favs and while I have a few friends getting the game for Wii U I don't have one myself so I'll be playing it somewhere else. Thussss, having those two unlocked right off the bat will save me from saying "hold up guys, just let me beat the game real quick like". And of course it's always nice to have more characters. I've honestly never liked Dixie, but I'm willing to give her a shot in this game and maybe she'd change my mind. Mewtwo is my favorite pokemon so it would be cool to have him back. I have friends who are excited over Chorus Men and I'm mildly curious myself. Ridley, at this point I'm hoping he's in the game just because I know it would make a lot of people happy. I honestly have no opinion either way on him. I'd definitely try him out if he were in the game, but if he's not playable I can't say I'd lose any sleep over it. I think it's funny to say he's too big, just to watch people go nuts, but honestly I don't think size is an issue. You can't have Bowser in a game and talk about size being an issue, he fluctuates like crazy. Even Bowser Jr stands taller than full-grown Mario in some games but his size has been adjusted here. My only Ridley problem has ever been the idea of seeing him walking 50% of the time cause when I think of Ridley I just think of him flying all the time unless he lands in a single spot to do some attack. I guess they could have him in a low hover though.I found a theory about the forbidden 4 (Dixie, Mewtwo, Ridley and Chorus Men) today by the creator of SSB4DOJO:
SSB4DOJO has speculated that this is the starting roster, with 4 unlockables from SSB4 3DS on this picture.
And yes this is a real picture from the ssb4 website:
Bowser Jr.
Ganondorf
Jigglypuff
Ness
Keep in mind, (at this point in time) Bowser Jr. and Jigglypuff are not revealed yet, so why show them here?
THEY ARE STARTER CHARACTERS!
And notice how there is 4 characters that supposedly turned to starters.
what if the forbidden 4 took there place as unlockables?
I'm not setting myself for any disappointments. I'm just merely expressing that I'd be really happy for Mewtwo to return again. Nothing more.Guys, don't set yourselves up for disappointment again. Just let it go. Stop trying to make Mewtwo happen. It's not going to happen.
I just don't like how his face looks in the trophy, it looks kind of really off and bland. I'll explain more later, but as of now it just looks kind if hideous. And whatever his voice is, it better sound cool and fitting. I like his Melee's voice. Never seen the movie and probably never will since I don't really watch the animes anymore (that and I can't stand Mega Mewtwos)It might be me only, but I don't feel anything weird about that Mewtwo trophy though. But yes, no matter what form Mewtwo comes, I'll be terrifically glad he/she'll come back to Smash.
Ice Climbers are voiced by Sanae Kobayashi and Lucas is voiced by Lani Minella, mewtwo could be voiced by a number of people, but here are some I know of, Dan Green, Fujiko Takimoto, Masachika Ichimura, Showtaro Morikubo, Miriam Pultro and I don't know any more, try a wiki or something. (also I'm not sure if I spelt some of these right)Oh hey guys I'm going to do classic mode ( to see the credits) and was wondering if any of you have a list of possible voice actors for Mewtwo, Lucas, and Ice Climbers ( If their respective voice actor voices other characters besides them please let me know.) I want to see if I can find some more evidence about their inclusion. So far I've already found Wolf's.
You know the only difference is a smaller head, right?I'm not setting myself for any disappointments. I'm just merely expressing that I'd be really happy for Mewtwo to return again. Nothing more.
If he doesn't get in, oh well

I have to agree with Naoshi on that one, voice actors can voice more than one character (just look at the list of Mario characters voiced by Charles Martinet, it's crazy!!) and it'd be stupid for Sakurai, in case a VA voices a single character, to let it in the credits if said character is not in the 3DS version.Oh hey guys I'm going to do classic mode ( to see the credits) and was wondering if any of you have a list of possible voice actors for Mewtwo, Lucas, and Ice Climbers ( If their respective voice actor voices other characters besides them please let me know.) Not sure what's up with the attitude there? Was that intended to be rude? You know the only difference is a smaller head, right?
Anyway, if you don't like Mega Mewtwos, prepare for the hate, as if he shows up, his Final Smash is either Psystrike or Mega Mewtwo (most likely X, as this one truly looks like an upgrade)
I didn't wanted to be rude, not even close, so if that sounded rude, I'm sorry. Not sure what's up with the attitude there? Was that intended to be rude?
Anyways to explain, the lack of the anger lines around his eyes makes it look weird. He has it in his XY overworld model: http://www.product-reviews.net/wp-content/uploads/pokemon-x-y-mewtwo-gameplay.jpg
I know it's a minor difference but without it, it just looks strange. And his head being smaller is something I haven't noticed until you've pointed out... that DOES look strange. lol So yeah, overall his trophy doesn't look very good.
As for the Mega forms, I won't really care if his final smash are Mega forms, just as long as the base character is regular Mewtwo, I'm cool with it.
It's okay, I wasn't so sure myself. I apologize for taking it the wrong way.I didn't wanted to be rude, not even close, so if that sounded rude, I'm sorry.
Also, IIRC, Mewtwo also had a smaller head in the animes, meaning that this Mewtwo isn't based on any Pokémon game.
Don't you mean that it's "Mewtwo" you? (Yes, I know it's a really bad pun, but I couldn't help it )It's okay, I wasn't so sure myself. I apologize for taking it the wrong way.
Hmmm, interesting. I haven't seen the movies/animes in a long time, so that's new to me.
Here ya go!Maybe I should try getting the trophy myself on Smash 3DS and take a better look at it.
That could simply be due to the limited quality of the 3DS.....Oh, huh... he sort of looks better than the other pics of the trophy. I can sort of see the angry lines around his eyes, sort of.
Yeah the angle of the head and the really subtle details on the angry face was what made the trophy (the one in your post just now) look very weird. That could simply be due to the limited quality of the 3DS.....
Here's the trophy and the picture it's obviously based from for comparison:
i think Geno might be counted as 2nd party charcter because alphadream (the company that made mario and luigi series and they did work in square enix before) says they would like to use him again (and they are planning to do this) and this charcter is part of mario universe and he didnt appear in any other square enix games like FF and DQMario, Luigi, Peach, Rosalina, Bowser, Bowser Jr.(and his 7 Alts), and Dr. Mario are the only official Mario reps. They are 100% determined by the specific Mushroom Symbol. Those last 4 aren't anywhere close to Mario reps and their own series. FYI, Mario started off in a Donkey Kong game, so called DK a Mario rep is... ludicrous. It's the other way around if anything. Each alt has their own name, and victory phrases, and even voices. They count more as Mario reps since they're entirely different characters. I would not care about 8 Mario reps(which is what Geno would strictly add), but there's actual Square-Enix series to rep first. Especially playable. I'd take Geno as a Bonus character, but only after other series get proper representation and far more. Wolf is back, Lucas is back(unfortunately, Ice Climbers are likely goners till Smash 5), maybe another for StarFox, Metroid gets a 3rd character without the name of Samus(no Dark Samus. Oy. You have a lot of other ones besides what would only be added as a partial clone if we're lucky), F-Zero a second character, another Pikmin character as a partial clone perhaps, another WarioWare rep(it looks clear to me Land is not going to get him much, but we still have Mona at least?), Snake back, Mewtwo back, maybe a second, third, or fifth Gen Pokemon, other potential 3rd Party candidates, and so on.
Mario already having 7 reps(or 14 if you count the Koopalings separately, as the are different people. You could also say that Pikmin has 2 characters technically), so it's pretty solid. My biggest issue is still that Geno himself is nothing more than yet another Mario character, but the fact that Square-Enix wouldn't be repping their own franchise means them doing this is so beyond unlikely it hurts. DLC I can believe, but nothing beyond that. Only if their own series character is there first.
Also, let's make this clear; Donkey Kong Country was never a sub-series of Mario. It's a sub-series and spin-off of the Donkey Kong Arcade series. Officially too. Yoshi and Wario may have started off that way, but they absolutely represent their own series now(especially as playable, as they got their own symbol, which represents their Universe alone). Being "related" to their parent series only matters if they keep the same symbol. As of now, Waluligi is a WarioWare character in Smash. Why, we don't know. Sakurai has collectively referred to Red's design, Calem's design, and Seren's design(all game versions) as Pokemon Trainer in some way. He just views the protagonists as classes more than characters, clearly by now. Misty is the only properly named Trainer, but she's also a Gym Leader(and they used her specific anime design in Melee). Sakurai does not think of things in the same way as we do; The only thing that is blatantly clear is that in a specific entry in Smash, if they fall under one series Symbol, that is their official series in that game. It can change, yes. Giga Bowser is now considered part of the Mario representation, even as a Transformation. He was first a SSB character. Mii Fighters is considered an SSB character, just due to the fact that it's designed to be an original Smash style character. It's likely they were probably part of the Find Mii series, but got changed upon being chosen as a fun representation for the new Fighting "name" Team. Or Small Fry Corps as called in Japan.
They still need to get Squre-Enix's permission regardless. They still took a part in creating him. Even being co-owned matters.i think Geno might be counted as 2nd party charcter because alphadream (the company that made mario and luigi series and they did work in square enix before) says they would like to use him again (and they are planning to do this) and this charcter is part of mario universe and he didnt appear in any other square enix games like FF and DQ
oh and also the most people who worked in alphadream did make SMRPG and the director of SMRPG is the guy who did create mario and luigi series this may explain how did Geno appeared in MLSSS and he didnt appear in mario sports mix (witch was a square/nintendo game. and alphadream didnt work in that game and Geno was a high requested charcter for that game but he didnt appear) but maybe alphadream does own him right now and they can use him any time they wants
rareware did create diddy kong (a DK charcter) and he is now owned by nintendo so nintendo doesnt need a permission to use him its look the same like square enix did create Geno (a mario charcter) and he is now (maybe) owned by alphadream so they dont need a permission to use him (square enix doesnt even use him in any game >_<)They still need to get Squre-Enix's permission regardless. They still took a part in creating him. Even being co-owned matters.
He's not that easy to get. And being a Mario character is pretty much the only reason why having a cameo in SS was done. Just for fun and all. Sure, them having some ties to it helps, but if it was just a second party character, then we could easily expect him as a trophy at least. I personally don't.
This doesn't actually say they own him. It implies it. Doesn't mean they can bring them back without permission. If they want to bring it back, why is hard to believe they have to ask permission? If anything, this shows they both own him at best. Which is why Geno barely appears in any other games. Getting the rights every time is a pain. He'd show up in a Party/Kart game by now or something like that.rareware did create diddy kong (a DK charcter) and he is now owned by nintendo so nintendo doesnt need a permission to use him its look the same like square enix did create Geno (a mario charcter) and he is now (maybe) owned by alphadream so they dont need a permission to use him (square enix doesnt even use him in any game >_<)
''hes not that easy to get'' this is just your opinion because nobody know if its easy to get him or not
people didnt expect a rayman trophy but 3rd party trophies are possible

^^^ this is the full story about "Alphadream Execs consider bringing back Geno and Mallow!"
IGN interviewed a couple of Alphadream execs who helped make Mario & Luigi: Dream Team who elaborated on the proper way to go about giving Geno and Mallow minor roles in future RPG games.
i did read everything in the article and i didnt see the word "sqaure enix" used there so thats might mean that alphadream are owning geno not square enix
in the article its says Geno will show up in the future RPG game not something like mario party or mario kartThis doesn't actually say they own him. It implies it. And no, they're not that easy to get. Being owned by two separate sets of developers makes it a pain. Going through one for a Trophy is nowhere near comparable. A trophy is easy, it's just a quick cameo. A playable character is not. You have to make sure they approve of the choice, and with how Smash is done, you have to somewhat adhere to their choices of related content.
Sakurai only asked one company for a Trophy, not two. A company that Nintendo was on fairly good terms with as well. This is just as annoying as trying to get any unique character from Kingdom Hearts. You gotta deal with Disney and Square-Enix. Don't forget that Squeenix may not approve either.
So it has been established, Geno and Mallow will probably never be playable in Smash. But how about a little trophy cameo? True, you gotta ask two different companies, but it's a trophy from a Mario game co-developed by Square Enix and Alphadream is also involved in some way. In other words, it's complicated. But a trophy, however seems much easier...right?This doesn't actually say they own him. It implies it. Doesn't mean they can bring them back without permission. Oh, of course. The question is, is it worth it to Sakurai? Going through two companies? I imagine if, say, Black Mage was playable, it'd be pretty easy to get a Trophy for Geno/etc. If only because you already went through the company. So it has been established, Geno and Mallow will probably never be playable in Smash. Sora is in just as many Nintendo games as Geno. If not more now. Geno is still 3rd party as long as Squeenix has any rights to him, and so far there's no statement officially declaring otherwise. He'd be owned by two companies in this case, no different from Sora. I'd say they're just as likely, to be bluntly honest.. And he hasn't shown up in a future RPG game yet, now has he? Keep in mind Super Mario RPG is a Nintendo game made by Square-Enix. I don't know why they would support it anyway. It's not one of their main IP's. It does suggest they gave the rights to Alphadream, although it doesn't actually confirm it, just heavily implies it at best. It'd be nice if they actually said it, but since they haven't, we can't really tell for sure. Even a cameo in a non-rpg would require all rights to be looked at. It's not like Geno stopped being from a 3rd party game after all this time, the only thing we can say for sure anyway.there is a guy who did send a massage to square enix asking them if they are planning to bring geno and mallow from smrpg back in any future games or giving them to nintendo and thats what square enix said to him:
"thank you for conacting the square enix support centre.
unformatunately we do not support that game .
we can only advice you to contact to nintendo.
we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
kind regards,
the square enix support centre team
thank you again fo....blah..blah...blah...."
in the article its says Geno will show up in the future RPG game not something like mario party or mario kart
i know a trophy is easier than a playable but i still think that he is 2nd party charcter
sora doesnt have a place in nintendo all stars games and getting him is VERY VERY hard
Cause they're good characters. Not like it matters. As long as interesting stuff from a series is thrown in, the "representation" is irrelevant number-wise. Plus, we were talking more about a trophy than playable anyway.Geeze why do you guys want so many Mario characters?!
i did actually wanted Geno since melee and i have never requested any other mario charctersGeeze why do you guys want so many Mario characters?!
sora is different than geno because sora is popular in sony than nintendo and disney did never do something good for nintendo and he did never met mario wich make him very very hard to get him while geno can be added from alphadream (this company is not 3nd party) or square enix and they did team up with nintendo many times and they are fiends with nintendo and this charcter was between nintendo and square enixOh, of course. The only difference that is relevant is that Alphadream and Disney being the two owners of their respective character makes one somewhat harder than the other. That's literally it. It doesn't matter who they teamed up with. It's a character on a Nintendo system or not when it comes to the context of Smash. Since we're talking about a Smash cameo, they don't even need to have a straight Nintendo appearance for a Trophy as long as the mother company is paid.sora is different than geno because sora is popular in sony than nintendo and disney did never do something good for nintendo and he did never met mario wich make him very very hard to get him while geno can be added from alphadream (this company is not 3nd party) or square enix and they did team up with nintendo many times and they are fiends with nintendo and this charcter was between nintendo and square enix
Lol the last two aren't even in MK8! (Although Doc could reference the Mario clones in said game)SSB roster is started to look like mario kart 8 roster (in my opinion)
Sorry this has taken me so long, but here's a comparison of Mewtwo's looks in the past and now.Of course you'd know that thing about yourself (Just messing around with your username :D)
But could I have visual proof of this? I've never seen him that way.
Actually I looked at the trophy just now, it turns out the angry lines are part of the 3D model as an illusion that they are textures by using the shadows of the backround lighting. It's not a texture.Oh, huh... he sort of looks better than the other pics of the trophy. I can sort of see the angry lines around his eyes, sort of.
Yeah I figured they aren't actually textures, would be nice if they look less subtle.Actually I looked at the trophy just now, it turns out the angry lines are part of the 3D model as an illusion that they are textures by using the shadows of the backround lighting. It's not a texture.
His model there is a reused model from Pokemon Battle Revolution I believe. not too sure though, but i'm sure it is a reused model from another Pokemon game, which is kinda lazy seeing how Mewtwo was a character before.Mannnn, his SSBB trophy is a disaster What even happened here?
Yeah, it's definitely Pokemon Battle Revolution. So awful, the game itself looked like pure crap, surprised they thought it was good source material to pick from :/His model there is a reused model from Pokemon Battle Revolution I believe. not too sure though, but i'm sure it is a reused model from another Pokemon game, which is kinda lazy seeing how Mewtwo was a character before.
Same thing for Wolf in SSB4, I hate his model for the trophy, it's so out of place compared to Lucas and Ice Climbers, who just re use their Brawl model, but why not Wolf?
If I were to choose the two anime Mewtwo, I'd choose the left one. I don't know, but he look kinda cute for some reasons. (lol)Sorry this has taken me so long, but here's a comparison of Mewtwo's looks in the past and now.
(The TCG art is also Ken Sugimori, btw)
EDIT: Oops, that's just Mewtwo's Melee model render, not the adventure trophy. But you get the idea.

Honestly I think Mewtwo used to look a lot cooler.
I can easily see bowser jr. Getting a dlc in Mario kart 8 and dr. Mario is just like the metal Mario in ssb4 roster and toad is important than those 3 charcters and I don't understand why did they put them instead of toad but I still think the roster looks goodLol the last two aren't even in MK8! (Although Doc could reference the Mario clones in said game)
But then again, you can't blame Nintendo for putting a lot of Mario characters, it's their best-selling franchise (and the overall best-selling franchise in history).
