Let's see here. If a character is top or upper high tier, then people will hate them for being good. But for characters that aren't hated solely for being good, there's Falco who didn't get replaced by Wolf who is another space animal and Lucario who replaced the non-clone Mewtwo.

My personal top 5 characters I dislike, in no particular order:
Link, because I can't stand the Twilight Princess look. (yes, I'm a Wind Waker and Toon Link man.)
Ganondorf, because of the Twilight Princess look but mainly because his walking speed is measured in geological time and his Up A is so easy to do by mistake and leaves him wide open to attack.
Lucario, don't like his design and it's likely Mewtwo, one of my favorite characters, didn't make the cut because of him.
Falco, for his accent and having a Landmaster Final Smash.
Sonic, he just moves too fast to stay on smaller stages.
Characters who almost made the list: Wolf (another Fox pseudoclone with a Landmaster, but one with actual charisma), ROB (most undeserving character ever but I love the way he plays).

2.Mario (My obnoxious rival mains him, That just makes me hate him)
3.Snake (his projectiles + FD + Marth who doesn't have projectiles = ****)

As for picking five characters I most hate....that is difficult. I would say Diddy just because of my friends reactions when I play as Diddy since I am the only one in the group that plays him. They get really annoyed with the banana spam; it just cracks me up watching it and their frustration. I would say Pit because the arrows and his many many attacks that can reflect projectiles; it really irks me when I am playing as Samus for the projectiles are returned to you twice as fast as I shot them. I miss Samus's old priority from Melee. The others that I hate are for more selfish reasons: PT because I just cannot get control of him very well and Wario for having an alternate costume and I am jealous.

People hate Marth because they can't pinpoint his/her gender.
Game and Watch is hated for his overpowered Final Smash and the fact that according to the Subspace Emissary, he is the root of all evil.

I once literally fought a match with one of my friends who used Pit, during which he did almost NOTHING but shoot arrows. Then Smash attack me when I got close
AND HE WON.

I am going to pretend that last line was reffering to Sakurai and his clone characters. =P.
His FS is easy as heck to avoid for me because I usually do fast brawl and If i have items on it is normal brawl. Sonic's FS = equivelant of fast brawl.
speaking of which, Is it possible to spotdodge final smashes?

On a side note of random, anyone know that if you air dodge at the right time, you can don't get caught in kirb's final smash, no matter how close you are to him? I do this with my bro and it drives him nuts.
