And if we base this on tourney rankings,you can pretty much play a bunch of newbs in a tourney and win and you will look like your good.
That's why it's based on a combo of things rather than just tourney results.He hasn't shown anything but tourney results that are way less than stellar.

From what I've seen on AIB I'm on the only Kirby that is always over 1600.
Thats not me bragging.
Thats the other Kirbies not playing high ranked players enough.
Like 75% of my matches are with players over 1600.

just putting that out there. I beat jesterkirby 2-0 twice when we were in Kirby dittos.

yea, i just dont care much about this ladder, i gave a free win to my last opponent who's a friend of mine. my peak skill on the summer ladder was 1729.
being consistently over 1600 though, that's pretty good. sheer definitely deserves some consideration.
I suppose that's a good point, maybe with my horrible record (18-29 LOL I blame wifi
) I can convince some of the best players to play and lose to me.I have 1381 points right now, that went up a lot from the past couple days, and I think I can get above 1600 pretty soon. I just have so much trouble against some of the top tier characters on wifi...like G&W. I was pretty even with AME2's G&W, but lag screwed me up and got me killed >_<
(he fell for Kirbycide twice first match lololol)
Oh, and Jesterkirby is good. I barely beat his Link in a ladder match, and we tried again the next day in a Kirby ditto...but he's kinda laggy for me. I won the first match (he randomly used dair and suicided for no reason) so we just cancelled and we'll try again and hope for less lag XD
But I watched him play against Bunny's Ice Climbers, and he's definitely one of the better Kirbys out there.

Can you blame me though? I played and lost 5 games today...2 to Ike, one to Snake, one to Metaknight, one to Falco.
I HAD those Ike games too, I just screwed up because of wifi >_______>
oh and Falco is annoying on Jungle Japes...I thought I had that game too and then he killed me from 0% with chaingrab to spike into deadly water XD

Too much GW for Kirby to handle. Both of the two main characters I use on the ladder get ***** by almost every top tier character. =/ I still managed to get 1575 skill points. Somehow. o.O

Gw isnt that hard for me

Unless they say "his kirby wasn't even good, I just sded both matches" then that pisses me off, especially if I cleraly owned you >_>
I think Kirby is fine against G&W...unless it's on wifi. I mean, he has priority over almost all Kirby's attacks, so in this matchup, G&W can attack first safely. Therefore, Kirby has to play defensive, and punish ending lag with well-spaced moves.
Except punishing and spacing for Kirby vs Game and Watch with input lag is hell.
Aye me too, but again, wifi. I find DAir particularly hard to punish in lag :/

Yeah i hate when people are like, "worst kirby i've played all he does is spam" when anyone i've played knows I don't >_>
And GW's dair..you just have to make sure your on your guard and try to read it..or do what I do and roll all the time..

I roll way too much imo haha. It seems to work, maybe because of wifi though :[
My opponents seem to have trouble reacting to roll->uptilt online. What sucks is that I haven't played offline since a tourney a month and a half ago. I have nobody to play around here. But the reason I play wifi is to practice for offline tourneys..eventually. But the problem is that different strategies work offline compared to online :/
Oh yeah, how does Kirby spam? I lost 2-1 to the spammiest wolf in the world on ladder, and he gave me a 1 for sportsmanship and said "spammy kirby". Then I played him again, and he commented the same thing "SPAMMED EVEN HARDER WITH KIRBY."
Sad thing is that the second time I challenged him hoping I could win since I knew what he was gonna do....nope. Spam + Wolf + Wifi = deadly

Offline is good enough for me.Since the tourney scene down here is pretty much non-existent..Most of everything is up north.Nexus doesn't even do tourneys much anymore.
Pretty much i've played Wifi so much that the delay really isn't much a factor in my games anymore.I've learned to deal with it.When I do play offline it's pretty much the same results against the same people.
Don't ask me how kirby spams.Usually when someone says you spam,they usually give a general idea of what move you have spammed >_>.Another thing,I love how a spammer says you spam something.Like I play this one ZSS on AiB and all he does mostly is SH and side b when i'm around 80 or higher damage.Now if I started to spam my peelz with diddy,he will complain and say i'm doing the same thing over and over again.It's like most spammers who pull the spam card don't even notice they are doing the same move over and over.
They should record a match and really watch it and see how bad they spam...I don't even care about spam anymore I know how to combat it easy.

I've been told that I spam, all from different people:
1) bair
2) grab
3) dair
4) final cutter (how can you possibly spam this and not suck horribly?)
5) fsmash
6) gonzo combo
also i have been told i am an aerial camper. and once...someone even told me that i camp on the ground, and that I sit back and do nothing

Good question, I saw a guy complain about this once, and I tried my best to convince him that it's the easiest thing in the world to avoid and punish, but he wouldn't listen :/

See the problem is you guys play on wifi. In wifi matches people complain about anything even if it doesn't make sense. People are generally cooler about things in person (there are exceptions of course).

Oh trust me they complain offline as well.
Those few nexus tourneys I went to there were so many johns ranging from a small itch bothiering them to their hands being cold.

ok ive been doin alot of thinking, hence why i havent posted here in a while. ALOT ALOT of thinking. I'm deciding to cancel this top 5 crap because 1: The offline version of this would be so difficult to keep track of. I just dont have the resources and the time atm to be keeping an eye on every1's stats in the U.S. or for the world for that matter. 2: The online part is something im not even close to taking serious enough to keep track of that, due to what weve all agreed on based on the comments here: lag, bad sportsmanship, etc. 3. The online part is easy to keep track of apparently and there is no need at all to have a top 5 for that. Pretty much AiB or GB stats and records can be easily found for that kinda info.
What ill conclude from this and i think that every1 will agree, is that ChuDat IS the best kirby in our community so far. There are many names out there that are recognized as good kirby players. However to decipher the placing for offline players is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Instead, what ill prolly end up doing is making an organized page of kirby players showing where they live, what tourneys theyve been to, their secondary characters, etc. Just for reference's sake you see.
Once again, I am going to retire this thread because ive learned that this is not contributing to the kirby players at all. Instead, it has brought alot of negativity and hasnt contributed to helping players get better or help people in need, which was and is my intention when i post in this forum.
