Smash Master
In the spirit of sharing information, I'd like to let everyone know that Marth's range is much less than the graphics would wish you to believe. Unfortunately, I do not have screen shots to explain this, so I will have to tell you how to demonstrate it to yourself.
Training -> Battle Field.
Your Dummy is going to be standing on a platform , walk under them and do a traditional Foward smash. You should immediately notice that you'll miss. Even though the sword's tip is slicing through their foot, it does not register as an actual hit. In fact, try as you might the only time the Forward Smash is going to hit the dummy, is if they are exactly one character length in front of you. At that point, you will score a tip, but aside from that, the tip of the sword is proven to be inaccurate.
After you wipe the tears from your eyes, it's time to find even more disheartening information out. Move the training dummy to the bottom of the map. At about three character lengths, do your up tilt. Slowly move forwards in an attempt to get a tip. You'll notice that right before you actually edge close enough to get your Tip, your sword will actually be slicing through your opponent's head.
So then, why does it do this? Well, Marth's sword is rather small in regards to it's width. All of Brawl's attacks hit boxes are **** near perfect in regards to following the animation. Marth no longer does a 'straight' forwards smash, but instead it curves as he does the slice across his body. Once you factor in the shape of the target, you can understand why the sword appears to hit things, that it really isn't once you tilt the camera to view it properly.
Moral of the story?
The Tip is a Lie.
