Man oh man Pound V was exciting.
I'm currently back in Suffolk though. I would have made it out of round 2 of pools but ADHD sandbagged and let doom win, so that made it a 3 way tie between me, doom, and poltergeist. I beat doom, doom beat poltergeist, and poltergeist beat me. Therefore, win/loss ratio determined who moved on. Poltergeist was 7-5, Doom was 7-6, and I was 6-6. I was pissed at the time, but I'm fine now. I never got that money match with Kadaj, but I did get to play him quite a bit. It would be great if he was still in SoVA, he plays so smart and is very technical. I also had a MM with kidGoggles and Pikapika, both of which I lost. However, both players gave me some experience of the Sonic match-up (very close set, going to last hit each match) and Pikachu match-up (close, like 1 stock low percent each match) respectively.
Although I fell just short of my goal, which was making it out of pools, I feel like overall I did exceptionally well with my lack of experience with different match-ups and OoS players. I'll say my highlight of the whole tournament was bringing it back and beating Nicole after losing the first match of the set. It would have been great to make it to bracket, but there's always the next tourney.
