I'll be watching Mufasa anyway since I'm at least curious about their take on Mufasa and Scar's/Taka's backstories.
That, and because Kiara's one of the characters in the film. She's one of my favorite characters in the series and it makes make glad that she's become a mainstay of the franchise outside of the sequel she debuted in, as aside from the other characters who debuted in the same film, and
technically Sparky, Reuben and Hamsterviel (I think) from the prequel movie to Lilo and Stitch: The Series, very few Disney direct-to-video sequel characters ever appear in the franchise again after their movies of origin.
Is it partly because most of these direct-to-video sequels are bad or significantly flawed? Yes. But the Lion King II is one of the legitimately good ones, so I guess that helps.
